Celine to perform on "Strictly Come Dancing"?

It is well known that when an artist promote an album, they usually lip the song (the track) of the actual album..SALES!!!!

I think whatever she does will be great publicity for the album. Maybe because I'm not in UK I don't care as much. I know that if it were the US battle between XFactor, (which didn't want me when I auditioned but that has nothing to do with why I think this) or our equivalent, Dancing with the Stars )which I love), I would want her on Dancing with the Stars. A larger audience/wider age range likes that show. As has been said about the UK equivalents, X does well initially but then fades, whereas Dancing keeps/maintainns its loyal following after the first drop-offs.

I'm pleased/proud of the wide array of artists they feature on that show. They've done every style from country, to rock, to pop, to jazz, you name it.

I ultimately must say though, I think either way Will be good for her, but I always and only want what will be best for her. And I do think she will sing a new song and cannot wait.

We're all very keenly aware, those of us die-hards who follow her as most of us here do, that she gets intense/incredible bouts of stage fright. Who Doesn't!!!!!! But I'm not so sure I'd go as far to say she is a "perfectionist" in That sense. I know she is in others. And I don't know that "freaking out" is accurate. She cares about us and reeeeeeally hates when she hits a bad note. She is her worst critic, all True singers are/do. So I really don't care about the lipping discussion, and I don't care for a lot of the wording the article used such as "warbling" etc. They might call themselves "the mirror", but they're not quite clearly mirroring her very well. It is said that there is no such thing as bad publicity, so let it ride. I'm excited. Strictly come Celine!!!!!!

While I'm sad to say that Celine probably will end up lip synching to her new single, That is not actually what this article is saying.

 

Strictly's Saturday night show goes out live on BBC1. Then the results show takes place later that night in front of the same audience. But it is not broadcast untill the Sunday night. It is pre-recorded. (but aired in a style that makes viewers think it may be live)

The guest artist always features in the middle of the Results show but in reality that performance is always filmed during the hour or two that the votes are being made and counted. It is then slotted into the Sunday night show, so it appears to be all done live and in one take. So if something goes wrong, or if Celine (or whoever is performing) makes a mistake, they can simply restart the performance. And that is what this article is actually eluding to.

 

Oh, and don't worry Fred she almost certainly won't be doing any old hits. It'll just be the new single, performed while two (or more) of the professional dancers perform in front of her.

 

 

 

yes - i was about to say its not saying she'll lip it....just that its pre-recorded - all the performances on strictly are arnt they? so they can air them the next night for the results.

 

I would much rather her on x-factor obviously as its a singing show, its much better than strictly and the viewers are much younger and thats who i want celine to be seen by, but i must say last time she was on xfactor she seemed really uncomfortable on stage, it was her 1st live performance of the song i think and she had problems with her ear piece and over all gave a poor performance of TC and i was just left feeling 'i wish she'd lipped it' haha so i dunno if she would wanna do it again (although she all over those shows in the US and france and kicks #ss on them so i wish she would do the same here. we need a perfomance like when she did tina - simply the best = show stopping.

I'm so glad Strictly got her!!!

 

I don't think X Factor (Dermot especially ) treated her a bit badly, so i'm pleased.

 

I'd love to get tickets to the recording but doubt i'll be lucky enough to get the episode with Celine!

 

Would love it to be a more uptempo performance, but whatever she does it'll be fab to see Celine back on UK tv!!!

I have the same chances as you, but I think it will be as long a queue and wait to get in to watch a 5 minute performance then be show the door again... that happened at Saturday Night Divas, but I was still honoured and happy to be there to see her, even if she lipped as there was only 20 ppl in the studio

Nothing is officially confirmed yet, so I tweeted the shows new producer today to see what date Celine is pencilled in to perform and he replied "she's not... At the moment..." so I think it's pretty safe to say shes gonna be on the show!

maybe harsh but I am tired of the lipping too.. But last time she did my heart will go on in a Danceshow and that was live for sure ( since it was not her best performance) so who knows what we can expect? I sure hope she is not gonna sing Because you loved me and my heart will go on again, this time we want a fresh new song!

What Tyler means, I think , is the whole discussion we have had before, about Jamaica for instance, and the walmart performance and the fact that they keep on postponing and postponing the new album.

That does not mean he says Celine is lazy. Not at all, she works hard for the money, but it is more of lazy in being not too picky with music she sings, just doing what Rene orders etc. Lazy in the sense of not caring that much for her albums and only being interested in Vegas, being okay to sing only covers lately, not saying - hey now I want some songs from my own repertoire in it! maybe lazy should be more assertive against Rene and the productionteam? and Tyler is also referring to Celine disappointing us in most of her interviews which always seem to be about her family and her children and that every question that is related to the recordings/new music never gets an appropiate answer but goes about stability and her babies and whatever. How great would it be that she would say; I have recorded a bunch of new tracks, you will hear musicstyles you would never hear me doing them , but I did it! and I have worked with this fantastic composer who wrote this enchanting melody .. really you should hear it! And I worked with Ne-Yo again, you will hear a complete other side of me and for the people that ask at the boutique, can we have those tracks performed in the show? for those people we included some studioversions of that songs, everybody happy!

Well, it's time for me to decide whether to try and get tickets - applying for tix ends next sunday - and i really don't know what dates to go for!!

Whilst I would LOVE Celine to come back to the UK (it's been far too long!) and perform on Strictly (I way prefer the show to X Factor), the Mirror is an embarrassment to the British Press and should be read with tablespoons of salt. I highly highly doubt they would have got this kind of information (and accurately as well!) so far in advance... I hope I'm wrong!

Sad she won't be, but hopefully she'll be back in the UK for something next year for album promo. Strictly will be on tv this time next year so maybe promo for 2nd/3rd single - unless album is pushed back again!!
