Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On," the love theme from James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster film "Titanic" (which spent two weeks atop the Hot 100 in 1998), registers its highest downloads sum this week since SoundScan began tracking digital sales in 2003: 14,000, up 74%. The movie's soundtrack concurrently re-enters the Billboard 200 at No. 155 with a 53% increase to 4,000 units.

 

The "Titanic" soundtrack ranks as the second-best-selling and second-longest-reigning theatrical movie soundtrack dating to the advent of SoundScan data in 1991. Notably, the top set in both categories in that span - the Whitney Houston-led soundtrack to "The Bodyguard" - has also experienced a resurgence this year, having sold 172,000 copies following Houston's death on Feb. 11.

One of my students saw the movie "Titantic", and he came to me and told me this ('cause he knows what a HUGE Celine fan I am):

 

"Wow, that song Celine sang was awesome! It gave me goosebumps. I looked over at my brother and he had goosebumps too!!!". "That was amazing!!".

 

So, for me to hear that comment from a student who is 14 or 15 (and I don't know about his brother's age) is fabulous. The younger generation is becoming acquainted with Celine, because most of them were either born when the movie first premiered, just babies in diapers or they weren't born yet.

 

So, I'm thrilled that Celine is becoming known for her talent by the young generation again!!!

I'm happy she's number 3.... but I really wish it was a different song. I know MHWGO is a challenging song to sing, but she has so many other amazing songs that I think show her vocal capabilities a lot better.

1st Celine's English song that made me improve my English along with Britney's 'Baby one more time' and take Celine as role-model in learning English!

Since that song I started to repeat all phrases, sentences she said on English interviews, translate all her English songs I loved.... Incredible inspiration!
