How old are Celine fans generally?

I'm 23 and I bought a couple of her albums in the 90s when I was little (FIY and LTAL) But, I wasn't a huge fan until 2010 when I saw A New Day... DVD and became obsessed. I have now been buying all of her albums and singles on ebay (even the french ones and i don't know french yet)

I am 21, and i have been fascinated by her music since 2007 when my french teacher put some french hits to the class; of course was Sous le vent ( it was amazing, every minute i was listening to it) With this i also loved Garou's music ( Jusqu'a me perdre) Then it came Ne partez pas sans moi.

I think the interest on Celine's music begins in a French class, Vive notre grandiose Celine!

My first time to see Celine (in person) was when she did her Taking Chances World Tour. That was such a HUGE thrill for me!!!!!

And actually Celine is still pretty young, 44 is the new 35.

BTW. I am 21 and I've been a dedicated fan since birth (literally). She's my hero.

44 is the new 20 to me as Céline does more now than I've done my entire life

Might also mention my son Matthew is 7years old and has been a fan since the day he was conceived

I'm 26, been a fan for 13 years now. Am not as crazy about her as I used to be, but she's still one of my favorites. I don't care as much about her personal life, but her music and her voice still touch me.

In a way, I was born to be a fan of hers. It's so funny because I was not introduced to her by my parents, fate brought us together. The day of my birth I received BATB from someone and that was the first movie I ever watched. And "Beauty and the Beast" was my lullaby, I could NOT go to sleep without hearing her sing. I didn't know who she was til Titanic, when I was 6 and everything just catapultied from there. I love her more for the incredible person that she is, than the voice. But Ofcourse I could never live without the voice. So bascially I could never live without her!

I think the average age of users of this forum is lower than the average age of people who go to a Celine concert. One thing Ive noticed is that many people at her Vegas shows and who were in the less expensive sections of the TC tour were 40-50+

LOL!!! Well, as I have stated before, I am 55. I guess teaching high school students helps to "keep me young"!! Anyway, I get on the forum every day. My students get "a kick" out of teasing me about my obsession with Celine!!!

 

I'll be sitting in FORCH 4 Row FF this summer! I guess I'll start looking around to see how young everyone is!! I didn't know that I was choosing the "young people's section". I thought that it was because I wanted to be close to Celine, and feel like I was actually at the show!!!

I agree Claudette that it might seem like a lot of Celine's older fans don't make use of the forum. I for one do "check out the news" daily, but I don't always post. Maybe there are others like me on the forum who don't post often as well. Some days I post more than others, and that's because I'm usually at work or busy grading papers etc. at night. Right now I'm on "Spring Break". Maybe there are those, like me, who think that nobody would care to hear about what we have to say!! I'll be honest, 'cause that is one reason that stops me from posting sometimes. I know.............I shouldn't feel that way, right? We're all friends on this forum, 'cause we all love Celine and that makes us "a family"!!

 

Anyway, I do love the fact that there are so many young Celine fans. My youngest son is the age of so many on this forum, and he finds it hard to believe that there are so many people close to his age that love Celine. I guess he figures that since his mom likes her, then she's evidently an "older person's" type of singer!! Of course, my daughter loves Celine and she's 3 years older than him. She doesn't get on the forums tho'. I'm the one that keeps her "in the know" about Celine and also for many of my friends. They don't visit the forum either, but they want me to keep them informed about everything relating to Celine.

 

Most of my own students don't know about Celine, because they were not born before 1994 - 1995 (at least the ones that I'm teaching right now). In fact, a lot of them were born about the time that the "Titanic" movie came out. So, most of the time they don't even know who Celine is when I mention her. Of course, every once in a while one of them will say, "She's the Titantic" movie singer!! So, I'm always thrilled to be able to tell everyone about how many younger people, around the world, love Celine! I figure that helps them to realize that maybe they're missing out on something great!!! I've been teaching for quite a while now, but the ones that I taught back in "the 90's" knew who Celine was and they liked her. It's hard for me to believe that I'm now teaching children who were born so close to the year 2000! I find that so hard to wrap my mind around!!! It's like, "How did I get so old"?????

 

I'm so thrilled that there are so many on this forum that are in the "younger age brackets". We all have "exceptional taste in music"!!! I do hope that Celine and Rene do acknowledge this age group, because by choosing certain material it might help reach more around the world and therefore carry Celine's voice for many more years to come!!! I would love it if my own students started taking notice of Celine, and realized that they had been missing the joy of listening to her!! Of course, I ultimately want Celine to "stay true to herself". I think that in itself gives her "staying power", and what endears her to so many!!

when titanic came out, my sister and I would always sing a-long to my heart will go on and it is still one of our favourite songs, but i didnt really know or pay attention to celine then. Then when i got my first job i decided to buy her LTAL & AND albums and loved it, but it was when i saw a glimpse of Through the eyes of the world when i really started to take notice, and thought she was absolutley awesome! and so i started to go on ebay and collect EVERYTHING i could about celine!

 

I live in australia, so i dont hear much about her in the news, and none of my friends listen to her.

So this forum is grea! to hear other people my age adore her is refreshing in a way!

 

Also, i think its great that celine doesnt just have one age group like other artists do.

I am 30 yrs old. I first heard Celine sing IYAMT on the radio back in 92 when I was just 10 though she had me at BYLM back in 96. I was 14 at the time. From 1996-2004 I was her hugest crazy fan and loved her to pieces until I got into other things. Now it's 2012 and I just got back into her music, and other things. Also it's nice to see a lot of young fans here.
