How old are Celine fans generally?

Hey,

 

I created this topic to see generally how old the biggest percentage of Celine fans are? Most people always think Celine fans are old (with no offence), but ive seen many on the forum who are young too.

 

I just thought it would be interesting to see, just how wide spread the ages of fans are on this forum.

 

I wasn't sure if to put this in the off-topic section, if so please move if its in the wrong place

 

Im excited to see the results, this could be interesting!

I've just voted on my age section; I'm 18 years old and I think Celine's major fan base is made up by people between 30 and 40, you know, the "adult contemporary" audience.

Yes, that's what I thought - most Celine fans have to be over 30. We may not think about it but Celine herself is not very young anymore.

i think most Celine fans are 30+ ( I am 34 now) considering Celine her biggest years were in the 90s. I also think it is great that people who are 18 years old, love Celine ( and her music). Always nice that a new generation found her too!

That's right! I discovered her when I was 15 years old so, there's no bad time for great music!

I'm pretty sure that there are fans much older that 25-30Y but they simply don't post or register anywhere...they might not be fanatics who care too much 'bout what' goin' on, however they FEEL the music and FEEL the energy and exist as fans,

Well I always knew who Celine was, but I just didn't really pay attention to her until late last year.

Hello to all!!! I'm 55 years old, and I've been a Celine fan since the beginning of her career in the United States. I don't recall knowing anything about her before her first English album. I didn't have much time for the forums before 2009, because I was too busy working, & raising children.

 

I am a high school teacher, and that takes up a great deal of my time. I'll say that again, "That job takes up a HUGE amount of my time"!!!

 

I always care about keeping up with everything related to Celine. Trust me, my students are always shocked about how much I know about her!!! Of course, a lot of them these days will say to me, "Who is Celine Dion?"!!!! That always shocks me!!!! So, of course I have to introduce her music to them!!! I always enjoy playing her French songs to my French students and even a couple of her songs in Spanish to my Spanish students. I would love it if she would sing more songs in Spanish!!!

 

I do post occasionally, but even if I don't post anything, I check out the "news" every day. So, thinking that "the older generation" doesn't care to keep up with Celine is not true. I read all of the books about Celine, and I have almost every CD and DVD. I'm always checking out to see what's going on with Celine on this forum and on the "official" Celine forum. After 3 trips to Vegas, I figure I've bought almost everything in the Celine store!!! I'm always looking for new things tho'!!!

 

I've been to see Celine's new Vegas show three times already (two visits to Vegas so far), and I'll be going again this summer. I didn't get the luxury of going to her first Vegas shows since my husband and I were too busy paying for our children's college educations etc. My first time to see Celine (in person) was when she did her Taking Chances World Tour. That was such a HUGE thrill for me!!!!! I am so grateful that I've been able to go see her in Vegas this past year, and that another visit this summer is going to be possible.

 

My daughter is 30 years old, and she's been with me to see Celine in Vegas and she'll be going again this summer with me. She also went with me when Celine came to town for the TCWT. She knew about Celine before me, and when I became aware of her she told me, "Mom, I already have one of her albums"!!! So, I borrowed it right away, until I could go buy my own!!!!!

 

I'm trying to be patient, 'cause I know that Celine has been ill with orders to rest her voice. I do tho' look forward to her new English and French albums!

 

So, here's a post from someone in the "older generation". There are probably more of us that visit the forum than you know!!! LOL

I'm 22 and ive been a fan for 16 years. I can't even really remember my life without Celine. I have 28 of her cd's and all her dvd's and videos. Just to put this out there, If you don't own the Unison video you must buy it it's amazing!! One of her most honest and relaxed interviews Celine has ever done!

That`s very intersting topic! I`m 36 old (next month 37) and I love Celine since 2007. She was in Germany to "Wetten, dass...?" and I see her outside the hotel and then I knew: I LOVE HER. One day before I bouth the new Single "Taking Chances".

I just turned 17 and i've been a fan for 4 years now (the best 4 years of my life). I saw her live for the first time back in December, I went to four concerts including the NYE show!!!! It was incredible

In my case, I became a Celine Dion fan on May 18, 2009. That day, my father bought the Live in Las Vegas - A New Day... Blu-Ray. I fell in love with it from the first moment. I first watched the MHWGO performance ('cause I only knew that song from her at the time) and then I watched the full concert. After that, I watched the 3 bonus features (yes, I spent all that time in fron of the TV screen watching it and it seemed like 5 minutes to me). After that, I started to buy her albums, DVDs and books. Whenever somebody finds out that I'm a Celine fan, they are amazed! They say "oh gosh, you are so young and have such a brilliant taste in music!"

 

One of the greatest Celine experiences I've had so far took place the day of my 16th birthday. It was November 4, 2009 and my mother, brother and grandparents organized a little surprise party for me since I was sick at that time and couldn't celebrate it with my friends. The big coincidence was that, when my grandmother turned on the TV, An Audience With... Celine Dion was being broadcasted. We watched the show during that little party and had lots of fun with her. She hit the big note of Alone right when I was blowing the candles of my birthday cake. It was wonderful.

 

I still haven't been able to go to a Celine concert, but, if everything goes as planned, I'll probably go to Vegas with my parents, my brother and my grandparents between the end of this year and the beginning of 2013, I can't wait!

i'm 49 years old and i'm became fan of Céline since she sang d'amour ou d'amitié even i knew and heard her before.

i had always followed her career and most of her news all these years ago ; but i never subscribed into any forum or channel

untill her Taking Chances World Tour when i saw her in France;

i don't have the opportunity yet to meet ,speak or huge her and hope i could one day .

i love her so and she will always remain in my heart .

Interesting, yes! I'm from the young fans because I'm almost 16 years old and I became fan before 2 years. This woman, Celine - our inspiration changed my life so much for good of course and I'm happy.
