fred Posted May 27, 2012 at 01:26 AM Posted May 27, 2012 at 01:26 AM We won!! It's so fun! We got points from everybody except Italy. But I feel sorry for Norway. Tooji surely was the hottest guy in the contest. My bets tonight were: Cyprus, Sweden, Russia and Rumania. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
Céline's Blues Posted May 27, 2012 at 09:29 AM Posted May 27, 2012 at 09:29 AM Spain kills. Céline should take some lessons from Pastora how to sing big notes. Pastora = KILLS CELIONE = who? Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
Edwin Posted May 27, 2012 at 11:48 AM Posted May 27, 2012 at 11:48 AM So glad Sweden won! They were one of my favs from the get go. Them and France. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pfo-8z86x80 Quote
Céline's Blues Posted May 27, 2012 at 01:28 PM Posted May 27, 2012 at 01:28 PM Sweden was nice but what made it grand was the girls PERFORMANCE. On its own the song is ok but when you see her dance and sing you get what she means. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

Henri Posted May 27, 2012 at 10:07 PM Posted May 27, 2012 at 10:07 PM It was exciting show as always.I'm happy that Euphoria won, grattis Sverige. Wasn't winning certain from the start. This song stood out from all the others. My favourite did well too, Kuula. I was surprised how poorly Ireland succeeded, people had higher hopes to them. And Fred, surprisingly people took language thing quite naturally, even though majority of finnish doesn't completely understand the lyrics which leads me to other thing (later). And we have had one song in Swedish before. I liked our song and so did many others, we were second country to drop from first semifinal. If Sweden and Norway had been in same semifinal we might have been too. I like the idea that countries show their cultures and languages through songs. But then again I'd like to understand the lyrics too and as far as I know Finland and Estonia are only ESC countries that uses subtitles to all songs. I don't know how others can watch the show without understanding the lyrics. Quote
ErwinG Posted May 28, 2012 at 02:00 AM Posted May 28, 2012 at 02:00 AM So happy that Sweden won ... there were a couple of great performances ... let's hope that next year we get some great performances as well ... Quote
fred Posted May 28, 2012 at 12:04 PM Posted May 28, 2012 at 12:04 PM (edited) Sweden was nice but what made it grand was the girls PERFORMANCE. On its own the song is ok but when you see her dance and sing you get what she means.Yes, indeed. I've noticed that the song does't work on the radio, but is extremly good on TV. I kinda figured it was a sound thing, that a lot of the sound get filtered out thanks to the radio "sound filter". Could very well be like you're saying too, that it's the visual performance which is its major strenght. It was exciting show as always.I'm happy that Euphoria won, grattis Sverige. Wasn't winning certain from the start. This song stood out from all the others. My favourite did well too, Kuula. I was surprised how poorly Ireland succeeded, people had higher hopes to them. And we have had one song in Swedish before. I liked our song and so did many others, we were second country to drop from first semifinal. But then again I'd like to understand the lyrics too and as far as I know Finland and Estonia are only ESC countries that uses subtitles to all songs. I don't know how others can watch the show without understanding the lyrics.Estonia sang very well! And about the language thing. I liked Estonia and Makedonia even though I had no clue what the were singing. + two of my Eurovision favourites from other years are San Marino 2008 (Miodio - Complice) and Turkey 2008 (Mor Ve Ötesi - Deli), and I don't understand those languages at all. The language thing can be nicer in original language than in English. Look at Israel 2010 (Harel Skaat - Milim), it's much better in original. But sure most of the time English has its advantage. Right now the debate is on about which town will be hosting next year. Stockholm, Guthenburg and Malmö are the possibilities. My first guess was Stockholm with its brand new Friends Arena (max 65 000) - Stockholm has a second new arena under construction, Stockholmsarenan (max 30 000). Yet those who talk about Stockholm as the host expects the Ericsson Globe(max 16 000), why I don't know since it's small compared to the new arenas and nowadays everything seems to be about huge events (yes I miss the good old days when the ESC was held in concert halls and auditoriums). But having in mind Stockholm hosted the event last time Sweden won the ESC the chances are high for Malmö or Guthenburg, but with my knowing none of them has any arena of the size as the new ones in Stockholm. The decision is gonna be made today. /fred Edited May 28, 2012 at 12:07 PM by fred Quote Peace and love to all.

raja_java Posted May 29, 2012 at 02:40 AM Posted May 29, 2012 at 02:40 AM for me, the best performance is france. poorly, every body don't like "france" as a country, and seems this even just show the neighborhood voting. they should change the name of eurovision into neighborhoodvision since some country vote for their neighbor :-( Quote
browseceline Posted May 29, 2012 at 09:03 AM Posted May 29, 2012 at 09:03 AM I can't believe Russia got the 2nd position and us in Spain ended as 10th... No offense to the people in Russia but, well... that was only because of the funfactor! They could have competed in Russia's got talent, but not in this SONGcontest. Maybe it was a anti-vote against all stupid songs every year? I have to say though there was a lot of quality in this year's list.I liked the KUULA song too, and the one from the Serbia. Sweden had a great, though familiar, song and I was not surprised it won.Though I have my doubts if the song was sung live.. to me it sounded like a studio recording, but I can be wrong, else the singeris really really good. I expect this song to be a huge hit in the upcoming weeks.A lot of neighbouring countries voted on each other. Even songs that hurt your ear, like Macedonia ( no offense to the Macedonian fans here, but I did not like her witch sounding voice) and Ukraine with it's screaming almost offkey singer. I guess it is a matter of taste. My top 3: 1 - Spain ( gorgeous power ballad)2 - Sweden3 - Estonia Quote <iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hl2XkxnYljg" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
fred Posted May 31, 2012 at 09:48 PM Posted May 31, 2012 at 09:48 PM (edited) Thousands of people gathered in hötorget in Stockholm this tuesday to welcome Loreen home. http://svt.se/svts/article101650.svt/ALTERNATES/large/loreen_hotorget.jpgNow Eurovision seems huge in Sweden. She is greeted like a sport star. The life guard played their version of Euphoria.http://svt.se/svts/article101864.svt/ALTERNATES/large/Loreen-h%C3%B6torget%20(1).jpg And Loreen performed two versions of Euphoria. She began with a darker slower version with slimmed down arrangements. It was interesting to hear a new version so soon. Just compare to Céline who never experiment with her hits. It was a pleasant surprise. She ended the event by singing the original version. The head of the Swedish contest said that the ESC 2013 will be an event where everything is built on the Swedish sprit - that every human being has the same value. Here are the two version Loreen performed:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EmITnX1jLcSofter version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nV6q5z_uypYOriginal version. /fred Edited May 31, 2012 at 09:55 PM by fred Quote Peace and love to all.
