Unfortunately, my country (Poland) is out this year. It's a pity as the song we brought to Germany last year was great, I still like listening to it! Quote
tiniann88 Posted January 21, 2012 at 07:52 PM Posted January 21, 2012 at 07:52 PM Is there any way we can watch it here in the USA? Quote

J-Man Posted February 24, 2012 at 09:38 PM Posted February 24, 2012 at 09:38 PM We will be picking the Irish song tonight. 5 acts battling it out, but its pretty much a foregone conclusion that Jedward will be representing us again this year. Quote http://www.powerofthemusic.com/other/FORUMSIG1.png
bfhb Posted February 25, 2012 at 11:27 PM Posted February 25, 2012 at 11:27 PM And Jedward it is....... again! They are like two fraggles made Human, jumpin and cart wheelin all over the place, the song is ok , i dont think its as catchy as last years LIPSTICK .....this song is called Waterline here is the link Quote love doesn't ask whyspeaks from the heart and never explainsdont you know that love doesn't think twiceit can come all at once or whisper from a distance
Henri Posted February 25, 2012 at 11:28 PM Posted February 25, 2012 at 11:28 PM We chose our song tonight. It is called När jag blundar and Pernilla Kalsson will sing it.It is a nice ballad but I have doubts of its success, it's a bit bland. I'm happy that our song is in Swedish for a change, since it's one of our two official languages. Only once before a Swedish song has represented Finland, it was in 1990.If you like to see Pernillas performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Y3qTSyDZAg Has any of you actually been at the ES Contest? I haven't. Quote
Davey84 Posted February 26, 2012 at 10:31 PM Posted February 26, 2012 at 10:31 PM The Dutch entry is known! Joan Franka - You And Me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVHN9M9R7d0 360 degrees different than last year! Hopefully it'll take us further than Shalali shalala! (WHich still get stuck in your head if you hear a few notes! So it WAS a good song ) Joan Franka was one of the first contestants of The Voice of Holland. J-Man Posted February 28, 2012 at 08:38 AM Posted February 28, 2012 at 08:38 AM (edited) I think Jedward was always a foregone conclusion. I agree the song isn't as catchy as Lipstick. It also requires a tiny bit more vocal performance this year, which also doesn't help the twins. But once they get the full space of the Eirovision stage, they will give such an enthusiastic and jump filled performance that they should get out of their semi final. We are in the first semi final this year. Finland: good performance. I like the dancer in the front. She's like a projection of the main singer. I especially liked when they synchronised their hand gestures. But that effect may be lost if there is no walkway in the contest this year. And while it's handy to have songs in English for most of us, it's always nice when a country has the balls to use their native language. Though I never knew Swedish was an official language of Finland. The Netherlands: Catchy little chorus and a sweet song. She has a distinctive voice which is always good. The costumes are a bit gimmicky, but hey, it's Eurovision! People would remember the American Indians when it came to voting time. Davey84 Posted March 2, 2012 at 08:14 AM Posted March 2, 2012 at 08:14 AM Engelbert Humperdinck is going to the Eurovision for the UK! Not that it's that bad to send a 70+ crooner, but they don't even know the song, cos it still has to be recorded and such! they have a lot of faith in him!! (Or no faith in the current UK singers..... ) John, she got a lot of shite poured over her cos of her outfit... the Indian headdress isn't that bad, but her dress was really bland... I hope that's changes at least... destin139 Posted April 10, 2012 at 09:26 PM Posted April 10, 2012 at 09:26 PM Engelbert Humperdinck is either a car crash of a mistake or an absolute stroke of genius... either way it's going to be very interesting to see how the rest of Europe likes it (or not!) As a Brit myself, I long ago gave up hope of us ever doing well in Eurovision again, so I've no expectations of the song doing well... will be watching on the night for a laugh though! I think, or it looked like, that she will wear a small feather in her hair. The song is strong enough without the Indian hat. By the way, the hat came from a Brideclothing shop. But people werearguing if it was a good idea to stay wearing that hat, so she finally decided not to wear it anymore. fred Posted May 24, 2012 at 10:09 PM Posted May 24, 2012 at 10:09 PM (edited) I'm sorry for that Davey! Really am. Your young version Cher with a glam native american makeover surely cought some attention though.... It was fun to hear Swedish being sung in the contest for the first time since Sweden sang in Swedish in 1999, so thank you for that Finland. It was really nice of you! I would love to hear what the Finnish people thought about sending a song in Swedish. Jedward was really fun to see there again. Although their song wasn't that great - too much Westlife - I still enjoyed it coz of their show, they are quite something. Although I do think their third member isn't that happy he wasn't invited to join them:http://indiereader.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/edward-cullen.jpg Norway wasn't super good but I can't deny the charm. I don't know what the UK is thinking, can't tell if it's a joke or a genius move. And, it's hard to be humble... it really is, because i can't remember the last time we sent somthing with this quality. I am actually surprised the Swedish people voted for Loreen to win since they rarely acknowledge quality when it comes to our entry for the ESC. And I think the chances are high we actually win this year. But things can turn in this contest. And the most obvious threat to Sweden getting the top spot is... Russia. /fred Edited May 24, 2012 at 10:14 PM by fred Quote Peace and love to all.

browseceline Posted May 25, 2012 at 11:14 AM Posted May 25, 2012 at 11:14 AM (edited) i really can't understand how the worst songs in this competition, Ukraine and Macedonia , went to the finals! Ukraine is an example of mindless lyrics, screaming instead of singing and being offkey the whole time. Macedonia was even worse! I had to lower the volumelevel to not expose my ears to long to the screaming wichsounding vocals of the leadsinger...Why did Slovenia not went to the final? Unbelievable! it shows how much bad taste some people have! And Sweden, that song sounds sooooooo familiar to me. I cannot pick which song it is, but to me there is nothing original about it! fred Posted May 25, 2012 at 01:33 PM Posted May 25, 2012 at 01:33 PM Some Swedish experts mention Italy and Spain as possible winners. From the clips shown in the show Italy didn't get my attention at all but I noticed that Spain had some qualities though. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
