CelineStorm Posted September 4, 2011 at 04:04 PM Posted September 4, 2011 at 04:04 PM I wanna know why they hate Celine Dion, because they always include her in bad list, like actually "The Worst songs of the 90's" with My Heart Will Go On, WTF?And actually she's not in their artist data in the official page, if you wanna find her, there's no exist Celine Dion and I remember that i read long ago something about the Rolling Stone Band (mainly Mick Jagger) "it said that Celine Dion was a bad singer, and they hate her" Why they hate her so much? CelineStorm Posted September 4, 2011 at 05:18 PM Author Posted September 4, 2011 at 05:18 PM Let's put it this way: maybe they don't deserve her. Yeah, i know we can say that, but we can't deny that Rolling Stone's Magazine is one of the most important music magazine in the world, lamentably. Quote
puttybuddy Posted September 4, 2011 at 05:29 PM Posted September 4, 2011 at 05:29 PM Well Maybe Celine is just to classy for that rag mag! She gained huge popularity without it. That's sayin something right there!! Quote The greatest voice ever! ♥

That's your opinion; I see them more as a kiss-#ss magazine than a real honest magazine; for example, they named Lady GaGa as queen of pop; like seriously, she didn't stay that long to get the title and her second album is a flop; they always bank on what's hype right now; they aren't a magazine that's worth Celine to be on their cover Quote

zuv Posted September 4, 2011 at 08:11 PM Posted September 4, 2011 at 08:11 PM (edited) Because she covered You Shook Me All Night Long, (which i dont understand why she would sing a song about handjobs) and they thought it was aweful. If you want to read the worst comments on Celine, just read the comments left on the youtube video. People are insanely rude. I thougth she did an awesome job for a woman. I seriously couldn't find any better female artist to cover this song. but I think, since that night, the magazin started to hate her. Bunch of tards Edited September 4, 2011 at 08:19 PM by zuv Quote
wjd Posted September 4, 2011 at 08:18 PM Posted September 4, 2011 at 08:18 PM They haven't always hated her. They also hate Mariah Carey - pop female singers with big voices don't go down well with Rolling Stone. They jump on the success bandwagon - they ADORED Celine during the 90's. Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?
CelineStorm Posted September 4, 2011 at 09:30 PM Author Posted September 4, 2011 at 09:30 PM (edited) Yes but Mariah Carey was included in the Best femmale singers in the magazine, Celine wasn't , but Celine has a million of fans including other artist, singers that's good, 'cause many of them consider her an amazing person, with a big heart and big talent. PriscillaBarragan Posted September 5, 2011 at 01:37 AM Posted September 5, 2011 at 01:37 AM Maybe they don't see her as "hip" anymore? I honestly don't know. But maybe one day they'll say something good about her. Quote
robert sadler Posted September 5, 2011 at 01:48 AM Posted September 5, 2011 at 01:48 AM Rolling stone magazine : , who?I would not even spend my money on any magazine who has anything bad to say about our Celine they need there heads looking into. All I would say is the Magazine is jealous and they dont know who the best of the best our Celine of course. sfbaysinger Posted September 5, 2011 at 03:32 AM Posted September 5, 2011 at 03:32 AM Yeah. I think they should get there heads checked. How could anyone say she is a bad singer? are they deaf or something?Whatever. She's too amazing and they're too stupid to know it. But you know what, would we really want a fool, an idiot loving her? If an idiot loves the way you think, maybe you don't want them to like your thinking because they are an idiot. Who wants an idiot to like how you think, right? So if they think she's a bad singer, what does that say about them? Because they are idiots, it's okay with me that they don't like her. I of course want everyone to love our beloved Celine, but we can't always get what we want. at least we love her, and there are more of them than there are of those stupid haters, whiners, complainers and old fart bald rock and roll dudes! Anyway, I don't think she needs any magazine to like/dislike her. Let's face it. She's never been so very popular with most people simply because Celine isn't as scandalous as many other celebs. She is one of the best singers indeed but the truth is that many people are interested in other things than in talent. I think magazines are more intersted in writing about other kind of people, very different from Celine, in order to sell better. That's all. Quote 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER
manu23 Posted September 5, 2011 at 08:00 AM Posted September 5, 2011 at 08:00 AM Aswer is simple: she never took drugs or was naked on stage. Quote
donpi86 Posted September 5, 2011 at 09:12 AM Posted September 5, 2011 at 09:12 AM I think it's not about drugs and sex; They look and respect that kind of artist who has some transgression with their music or social life, You named Aretha Franklin, she is a classy so respected because she, in her ways, fought for female and afroamerican rights, and she brought the soul and gospel music to another level, She made RESPECT!. Celine Dion is one of the greatest performers in music history, she has THE VOICE, and incredible presence in the stage, elegance, etc. But, Celine, unfortunately, still hasn't said anything in music, (regardless of the success) no real moving feelings, always singing about superficial love and happiness with easy 90's pop compositions. The perfect singer, with the perfect life, and that, in any art, it's totally non-productive. I love to hear Celine, but, by this moment, I can't consider her a moving artist. I don't mind if Rolling Stone "hate" Celine Dion, They are not going to change my opinion about Celine, I will keep on listening, but I understand that Celine and Rolling Stone philosophy doesn't match. Quote
manu23 Posted September 5, 2011 at 09:55 AM Posted September 5, 2011 at 09:55 AM And who decides what transgression is or who has something to say in music? Rolling Stone Magazine? A singer who has sold more than 200 million albums has said a lot in music and to a lot of people. Maybe some artists say something in music and then nobody buys their albums, so at the end they say nothing. Has Britney Spears said something in music? Are her lyrics deeper than Celines? Has she fought for female rights? I don’t think so, but I am sure Rolling Stone loves her and us all now why. Quote
donpi86 Posted September 5, 2011 at 10:45 AM Posted September 5, 2011 at 10:45 AM (edited) Has Britney Spears make something in music?, probably something very bad, but finally, she has done too much, for example, you have a singer who collaborated in 1997 with the bee-gees, carole King, George Martin and then, in the next album, she did That's the Way it is... manu23 Posted September 5, 2011 at 11:24 AM Posted September 5, 2011 at 11:24 AM What is wrong with That’s the way it is? Everybody liked this song when it came out... Anyway, it is all a matter of taste. I once read some of these Rolling Stone lists, The 100 albums you must listen to before you die or something like that and I thought I was from another planet cause I barely knew some of them. I am glad Celine has nothing to say to Rolling Stone and a lot to say to me and her million fans. Let see where all these transgression artists (like Gaga) are in a couple of years. Quote
Celine Fan 77 Posted September 5, 2011 at 11:29 AM Posted September 5, 2011 at 11:29 AM Well, Mr. Spears has her fans for a reason, remember guys to respect if you want to be respected And I do not consider her a "transgression" artist, she's been successful since 2003 I think, and, actually, she did one important thing that Celine hasn't done yet: adapt herself to the changes of the music industry. ghazal Posted September 5, 2011 at 11:32 AM Posted September 5, 2011 at 11:32 AM I don't think that is important for a huge star like CELINE to be on the cover of a magazine, she more popular than this . Quote

manu23 Posted September 5, 2011 at 12:58 PM Posted September 5, 2011 at 12:58 PM Did I say something wrong about Spears? I also listen to her. I just said her lyrics are as deeper as Celine’s could be but please don’t say she adapted herself to the changes of the music industry, she did nothing, she has good producers that give her good songs, but that’s all, she never performs, she never dances, she never sings, she can’t even give an interview without repeating amazing, cool or awesome two million times and these are the things I listen from her fans. Anyway, I just used her like an example, there is not point to compare Celine and Britney Spears, they are just too different. I just hope someday she could get an honour award and give a speech thanking her fans for their support and not use her time to introduce Beyonce... I’ll tell you if I change my mind after her concert in Lisbon. Quote
sfbaysinger Posted September 5, 2011 at 01:42 PM Posted September 5, 2011 at 01:42 PM Yeah I agree, Britney has not adapted to the changes. And in her own way, I actually think Celine has. And, even if she hadn't, she doesn't need to. She's frdaking Celine Dion!!And I do not think she sings about "supperficial" love and happiness. What she sings about moves/inspires people so much it's not even funny. Have any of you seen the Operah episode where a young girl who was orphaned talked about Celine teaching her how to love after being so abandoned and neglected? Have you heard how inspirational she is to people overcoming impossible odds? and you tell me she's not moving? Maybe people have become immune to her music after so long, numb, or maybe no longer listening. But she moves me every single time I hear her! Quote L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine!
