bluejay88 Posted July 6, 2011 at 01:16 PM Posted July 6, 2011 at 01:16 PM I found out about her when I was really young because my parents had her CDs and would listen to them in the car and in the house. When I got my own CD player at like age 8, I took some of my parents CDs and listened to them. I was in love with Celine Dion's music Quote http://www.sweetslyrics.com/images/img_gal/1920_funclub31950.jpgCeline, you are so inspirational, beautiful, entertaining, talented and special. Don't ever change!
Linn92 Posted July 6, 2011 at 01:55 PM Posted July 6, 2011 at 01:55 PM Gosh!! It started in 2002 when ANDHC got released! I think I was 9 years or something... Anyway, my big obsession didn't start before 2006 when I watched a biography about her. The TV-show was cut in part 1, and part 2...It was kinda pain for me bc I had to wait 1 week to get to watch part 2! However, I got hooked after that Celine and René ha talked bout their love affair. Gosh...the story was so so sweet! Even tho the age different is huge, it's nice to see that those kind of relationships actually excists Quote

I Love You Posted July 6, 2011 at 06:19 PM Posted July 6, 2011 at 06:19 PM It all started, when I was eight years old. I saw her on the T.V. It was the '98 Oscars, she was singing "My Heart Will Go On." From that moment, on I was hooked. I have, all her c.d.s from 1990-2010. Quote
sfbaysinger Posted July 6, 2011 at 06:21 PM Posted July 6, 2011 at 06:21 PM Wow, what a fabulous topic...For me it was the dats when Kasey Casem was doing his top 20 count down on sunday mornings and I heard her. At first though i thought she was good but it was like yeah whatever. I've been a fan ever since, but have become a serious fan because of through the eyes of The World last year. I feel like I know her because of that!Again, this is an awesome topic, I think everyone should respond to it because I love hearing how/why people came to love her. Tyler1991 Posted July 7, 2011 at 06:28 AM Posted July 7, 2011 at 06:28 AM I actually discovered Celine by accident as well. When Leona Lewis was slaying the world with "Bleeding Love" I became interested in her, and as funny as it sounds, I thought.... is this woman black or white!?!?!?!? LOL! So I went online to look for a video to find out, and the one that popped up was Leona's performance of All By Myself....all the comments mentioned Celine so I checked her version out, and the rest is history.... sfbaysinger Posted July 7, 2011 at 04:40 PM Posted July 7, 2011 at 04:40 PM I wondered the same thing, Tyler. But she has a good voice and has been compared to Mariah. didn't know Leona took on ABM. Cool way to discover Celine, thanks for sharing. Quote L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! L'amour existe encore pour elle!
ferjaacu Posted July 7, 2011 at 06:32 PM Posted July 7, 2011 at 06:32 PM Well, I discovered her when I was 9 I think... I loved the FIY album, when one of my sister's friends came to my house with it... And then, Titanic... Quote http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3216/5786913948_369265dbeb_m.jpg FERLO
sfbaysinger Posted July 7, 2011 at 10:27 PM Posted July 7, 2011 at 10:27 PM I remember the days when Because You Loved Me was my very first song, but Let's Talk About Love was my first album for my sixteenth birthday. I asked my mom to read the song titles and see if that song was there. How naive was I, for now I know better...Wow... Quote L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! L'amour existe encore pour elle!

volleyceline Posted July 8, 2011 at 12:16 AM Posted July 8, 2011 at 12:16 AM I distinctively remember hearing BYLM on the radio in the car, and my mom would turn it up and I'd try and change the station and say "Ugh this song is boring mommy!" and she'd say "someday you're gonna appreciate these lyrics!" sfbaysinger Posted July 8, 2011 at 05:26 AM Posted July 8, 2011 at 05:26 AM I remember being young, about ten or so, when Celine came on Good Morning America and I said yuck I don't like her, yes there was a time I said and meant that. rakesh Posted July 13, 2011 at 06:27 PM Posted July 13, 2011 at 06:27 PM i was one of those Indians who never liked the idea of listening to any music that is not Indian. i would watch a lota Hollywood movies but never really paid attention to music or featured songs ...and then (back in 1997) J.Cameron released "Titanic" and i heard "MHWGO" ...was hooked by the sheer awesomeness of her voice & technical ability; checked out who the singer was and within a year i brought all her albms released til that time thank u Celine for introducing me to pop music world & proving me that there r also gifted & technically capable singers among the Britneys & Madonnas!! A few monthes later and many hours of begging, my mom gave in!! I thought the movie was fabulous but the song at the end BLEW ME AWAY!!! I would listen to MHWGO all day long. Then i decided to listen to Celine's other songs and fell IN LOVE with her music! Ray Posted July 14, 2011 at 09:15 PM Posted July 14, 2011 at 09:15 PM I probably have told this before, but here goes my story: I watched the Eurovision Songcontest back in 1988 and was really taken by Céline with Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi and was very glad she won. Then in 1991 I heard Where Does My Heart Beat Now on the radio. I loved this song too. In 1992 I fell in love with Beauty and the Beast and read a wonderful review of the 'celine dion' album in my favorite magazine of the time. They compared her to two of my other favorite singers: Whitney and Mariah, but the review said Céline's album was even better than the last efforts of Whitney and Mariah. I also noticed Céline had a top 5 hit at the time in the US with a song called If You Asked Me To. All this made me curious to listen to a whole album, so I went to the shops and asked if I could listen to the 'celine dion' cd. I fell in love with the album right there, I bought it and the rest is history. Quote Céline Dion Mariah Carey Madonna Lara Fabian Debbie Gibson Wilson Phillips Linda Eder Tina Arena Martika

I was hooked and now I love her!!! Edited August 5, 2011 at 05:13 PM by ddmone99 Quote You'll never see the courage i know. It's colours richness won't appear within your view. I'll never glow the way that you glow. Your presence dominates the judgements made on you. But as the scenery grows, I see in different lights. The shades and shadow undulate in my perception. My feelings swell and strech, I see from greater heights. I understand what I am still too proud to mention to you. You'll say you understand. But you don't understand. You'll say you'd never give up seeing eye to eye. But never is a promise and you can't afford to lie. You'll never touch the things that I hold. The skin of my emotions lies beneath my own. You'll never feel the heat of this soul. My fever burns me deeper than I've ever shown. But as the scenery grows, I see in different lights. The shades and shadows undulate in my perception. My feelings swell and strech, I see from greater heights. I realize what i am now too smart to mention to you. You'll say you understand. You'll never understand. I'll say I'll never wake up knowing how or why. I don't know what to believe in. You don't know who I am. You'll say I need appeasing when i start to cry. Alex_Incognito Posted August 6, 2011 at 05:51 AM Posted August 6, 2011 at 05:51 AM I was born in the mid 1980's, so I was a young little boy when Beauty and the Beast came out. I remember falling in love with that strong voice. I remember my aunt saying that she worked with David Foster who had worked with Barbra Streisand (who I loved). I also remember my parents having the "Sleepless In Seattle" soundtrack in their car and a compilation with "Where Does My Heart Beat Now." I loved her voice! It wasn't till 1996 that I became a full-fan. I was old enough by then. Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990
