So sorry no new recordings show up now. I live in the Netherlands and this forum is the only way to listen to the Celine show.I have never shared the recordings I downloaded with others. it is a pity others ruin it for the honest people.

LVCeline, it's exactely that - the credit for all the work we do with splitting, remastering, amplifying, tagging etc.

Personally I'm a perfectionist and hence I wouldn't feel comfortable with sharing just an unedited file of the entire show in one piece.

 

But at the end, it's not the credit issue that bothers me the most.

If you read my story a few posts above than you'll know what I mean.

I'm spaeking about false premoses, cheating and most of all: about making money for tapes that should have been kept free as, like you've said, it's only Céline who could really ask for credit or moreover for the money for all this stuff.

 

There are communities for some other artists where there are much more bootlegs being recorded as those artists vary their setlists the lot and thus practically every of their shows is getting taped by someone.

Among those artists' fans there are clrear rules about not selling stuff and as the community is strong and exactely know the rules, noone is selling stuff and there's noone who would buy it anyway, because the fans know where they can get their bootlegs for free.

 

The "problem" with Céline is that she's extremely famous and so there will be always some people who love her music and want to get more of it but are not familiar with forums or other fan communities and those people go for eBay and co. and pay much money for stuff that's free just because they're unaware...

 

I wish Céline would have such well-organized sharing community like Tori Amos (see: toritraders.com) - a website where only members can view and download stuff, those who are not members can't see and can't download anything and if you're a member but don't stick to the rules, you'll getting banned.

 

Of course even this wouldn't prevent stuff from appearing on eBay but if the community is strong and knows a lot about recording and knows what's available as free bootlegs than the eBay, Amazon or other sellers of bootlegs are immediately getting reported and.

 

It's actually a win win situation - fans get their free multimedia and bootlegs and the artists and there's no scam and abuse for anyone, the artist and his/her label included.

I'd love to have a new bootleg too, but I also understand what Dionesque is saying. It's disgusting how some fans try to make money off of other fans by selling bootlegs or other material that they got for free. If I'd known about recording devices back in 1998 when I saw Celine on the LTAL tour, I would have recorded it and am almost 100% sure I would the only person out of the 22,000 in that arena who would capture the show. So it would be considered a very rare item. But I would share it on this forum for free and would not even *dream* of charging for it on ebay or anywhere else. Because every fan who knows about this forum would deserve to hear that audio.

 

Unfortunately when you find out that your rare item that you gave out of a sense of community and sharing for the fandom is being sold elsewhere, it can sour you on sharing. If they from then on don't want to share on the forum so it doesn't happen again, they're not wrong for it. If there was some way to track down who sells what and ban them from the forum (or at the very least suspend them), it would make everything better for sharing.

I agree with what Nick and Sean have said.

 

To me, saying that you have a recording but then saying it won't be shared is kind of not fair.

Don't get me wrong, I completeley understand why people might not want to share, but if that's the case, please don't mention your audios.

I'm always on the lookout for more/rare celine stuff, especially bootlegs, so anyone who says they have audios instantly catches my interest.

So please, guys, let's share what we have, and spread the amazingness that is Celine to as many people as possible.

what has happened? Is it because of the discussion of not sharing things? Well, we have always shared everything we can and I don't understand why it has stopped. Such actions (as using someone's files) happen but they happen rarely but we can't help it I think. It's a risk but it shouldn't end the idea that this forum had.

It's a shame to hear what happened to Dionesque and especially how affected he is. Whoever is dealing with the file and not sharing the remastered version is just one in a million. Maybe the best that can be done is prevent him to make money. One way to do that is probably to release the bootleg for free on this forum with a link to Dionesque's Youtube page. At the moment it seems like a some people are rightly getting upset because 1 person was unrespectful. It would be a shame that other hundreds and thousands of people pay the price for one person. If this bad person is the only one to have this rare file then it makes it extra special for him and he wins the battle.

Thanks. It's a nice cover... and symbolic choice for the picture ^^ cause it reminds me how great she managed to adapt her voice during RDMH (as she seemed a little breathless in this bootleg).
