A New Day OR Celine?

It's WAY too early to ask this question. A New Day… evolved in all sorts of ways. A New Day…'s first shows were very different from the last few shows.

I feel like we should give "Celine" some more time to marinate.

i like both, but i too like CELINE a bit better. mainly because of the vocals and pure beauty and visual stunning imagery to go along. its much more complimentary to the main focus (Celine!) rather than AND where celine was featured but often was physically lost on stage with everything else going on around her.

i have to say though on that note, i think AND was a better first show for her to do in vegas, and was definitely right for the time it took place. it was big, theatrical, showy, etc and i think it was perfect for the first show like that an artist of her stature could do in vegas. but this new show is so incredible and also fits now just as AND did back then. this is her second time around so they can focus more on her and learned that in the end people come to hear her SING! and the schedule with her being a mommy and everything else is perfect. plus, celine is just great in her current classy stage of life, too. (not that she hasnt always been, but shes kind of like a good cheese or wine...she just gets more beautiful and better with age hehe!) its time there was a show that lets her purely be classy, wear beautiful jaw-dropping dresses the whole time, and focus purely on the vocals. and i think the new show does just that. so bravo!

and im sure you all are just as excited as i am to see how this show evolves and only gets better over its runs!

Everybody will surely vote for 'Celine' but it's shouldn't be like this because it's because for many of people it's their first time seeing Celine and because it's new but objectively it isn't as breathtaking as it would. The shows are very different from each other but as for now AND was better not because of the dancers or effects but because of the repertoire. 'Celine', on the other hand, has one big plus - Celine's voice which is so relaxed (but we have to remember that it's a beginning)

I loved A New Day, It was an amazing show! It was exciting, never boring, and full of life! The atmosphere was great. However, it is a totally different show than Celine. I loved Celine as well, but it's very different....very classy. You can't compare the shows. So as far as which I prefer....I will not say, until the new show progresses, because I believe with time, it will only get better! BTW, I love love love "Open Arms" and the MJ Tribute! :)

Because I am a Celine fan, I grew to love A New Day over the years and to appreciate the family of dancers and technicians that created such a unique spectacle, but overall it was still a cheese-fest: tacky and gaudy as can be and a CIRCUS, basically. I can appreciate all the talent and beauty and visuals but I became a Celine fan because of Celine..not Cirque de Solei. That the show evolved over the years and became better and better due to becoming more Celine-centric speaks for itself.

The new show is the opposite of everything AND was, filled with elegance and classic glamor. Visually it is everything I could wish for. It is up to personal taste I guess, but personally even the visuals in this show are pretty extravagant enough as it is, I don't need 200 dancers and a flying elephant, with confetti popping out of every orifice of the coliseum and a bucket of rainbows thrown on me to be satisfied.

Ultimately, A New Day was a unique phenomenon in its own right, despite its bizarreness (and perhaps that contributed to its greatness), but it's more or less a novelty show whereas the new show is the kind of classic, well-produced show that any legendary diva would dream of. Celine's mother put it best herself when she said it's the "crowning jewel" of Celine's career (as I read in one article).

I couldn't agree more! :thumbsup2:

"A New Day..." was absolutely amazing (and yes, you would have to see it in person, cause the DVD doesn't make it justice at all). But CELINE, is so classy and so much more about her and her voice. I had chills running down my spine the entire show. It's perfect.

I've seen both, I've loved both, but I have to say Celine all the way! My fandom has been fading a bit in the past years and although I went to see the premiere, I thought I might not go back if it's the same old same old, but Celine (the show and the woman) surprised me and made me completely fall in love again and brought my fandom back to it's old glory! ;)

I haven't been there, I hope I'll get the chance to see "Celine", but from what I've seen on A New Day DVD and from what we have for now from "Celine" I'm definitely for "Celine"!!! I've always been more into classical things and the more sophisticated a show is - more I like it. And it's not only about the look, but also and most importantly - the setlist! It's incredible this time! Pure perfection and I feel like we're back to 1997/8/9 - the Lady Dion, who is my favorite from all Celines! Edited by JasonFromTheMoon

by the moment, definitively Céline. Her voice is in the reign of God

"A vingt ans elle était la première chanteuse du Québec, à vingt-cinq ans la plus grande star en France, à trente ans la plus grande star americaine, aujourd'hui à quarante ans, et ce n'est pas tous les jours qu'on peut le dire, elle est la plus grande chanteuse au monde" Luc Plamondon

Celine!!

More about the voice, the setlist is not all over the place, and really defines Celine! :)

I am writing this before I read what anyone else said :)

A New Day, I sure do miss that show very much. It was fantastic, I loved seeing all the dancers and Céline running around the stage. To me it was like watching Céline acting

Céline- A show about Céline online, Céline is the main thing on the stage and it's fantastic not to have as much visual stuff interrupting your enjoyment of the voice and Céline herself. Sure there was some beautiful art on the screen behind her, but it wasn't too much.

I can't really compare as I think I've seen the best of Céline- acting and being herself.

Unlike being at a concert, Céline the show is much more intimate.

So even though I would LOVE to see A New Day again, I wouldn't have wanted to skip or miss Céline show

Lately I've been looking into the stage design used during A New Day because I think that was a one of a kind show that no one will ever be able to replicate the same way. I was wondering if anyone remembered what number was performed during the pictured set? I recall seeing it in various clips before the dvd was released but it is not on the dvd nor in any of the songlists when I visited LV. Many thanks!

Didn't know about this thread :giggle:

I really did enjoy AND but found it so "busy" and a bit distracting after a couple of times. I much preferred "Celine" sooooooo much more!

I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

I've seen both shows. AND 3 times and Celine once. While both shows are great and completely different from each other, I would have say that the one I prefer the most is AND. I think it's to do with the fact that it brought something new to the table.

I haven't seen any of them so I can't judge. Her voice sounds better now, but the shows are pretty much equal to me. And I feel very proud as a fan for them!

For me, it's def A New Day. I adored that show, it was amazing. It was a full theatrical production though as where CELINE is mainly focused on her. The shows are totally different but if you had 2 theaters with both shows I would be attending A New Day for sure.

Does anyone else miss "Seduces Me"??? :blushing1: :blushing1: :giggle:

Yes I'm agree with you... I mean I like AND more... I miss Seduces Me but not as much as I miss I Surrender....
