Dylan Callender Posted March 24, 2011 at 03:41 PM Posted March 24, 2011 at 03:41 PM Hey guys I though I would start this off, seen as no one else has!So which Vegas show do you prefer? Their both completely different from each other and both are brilliant, but do you have a favorite and why?? Quote
Alex_Incognito Posted March 24, 2011 at 04:37 PM Posted March 24, 2011 at 04:37 PM (edited) I much prefer Celine to A New Day.... Though I was too young to be able to afford to see A New day... I still kept up with all of the reviews, tv specials, and bootleg recordings. To me Celine is very classy. It's why we love the singer, it's just her, the microphone, her stage presence and that voice. In this show she owns the stage in every single way and you're captivated by her and only her. You don't need strange costumes and peculiar dancing. That cirque stuff was too much for me. A New Day... got better when they scaled it to Celine-centered performances like "Et, je t'aime encore", "At Last", "Fever", "Have You Ever Been In Love." I'll say it again, I think her current show is close to perfect. I enjoyed every second of the 2 shows that I saw and cannot wait to get back there again. This shows gave me chills. How many voices can do that for you? From the immense joy of "Open Arms" to the thrill of hearing "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" once again, to the gorgeous segue between IACBTMN and TOPOL, the sorrow of "Ne me quitte pas" to the beautiful finale. Wow. 90 minutes of POW, as they used to say about Judy Garland. Celine captivates her audience just as well. The songs are perfect although I would like maybe one current song of hers, but I guess if you put a current song into a show like this, it could be just out of place, maybe a bit lost. but I totally agree with you, classy, sexy and pure. Thanks for the comment Alex Quote

Claudette Posted March 24, 2011 at 05:26 PM Posted March 24, 2011 at 05:26 PM Well one can certainly not say one show is better than the other because they are very different, but I prefer ''Celine''. Simply because there is less visual distractions in the show. It is about Celine's voice, and that is the reason why we are there, isn't it? sceavis Posted March 24, 2011 at 07:30 PM Posted March 24, 2011 at 07:30 PM I loved AND but I prefer Celine better because it gives her a break with less shows it's not as physicality hard on her as AND was.One of my favorite things I love about the new show that the show is very open things can change many times so she will not get tired of doing the same thing like AND and the fans will like seeing the different shows over the next three years. ennostiel Posted March 24, 2011 at 07:31 PM Posted March 24, 2011 at 07:31 PM Now, I haven't seen A New Day... live, just the DVD in the cinema... but anyway, I prefer Celine. I reaaaaaaaaally love it! I think A New Day was great, but THIS... Celine is absolutely jaw-dropping and voice-centered. It's an incredible show... LVCeline Posted March 24, 2011 at 07:32 PM Posted March 24, 2011 at 07:32 PM No doubt about it, Celine is my preferred show. I loved A New Day, don't get me wrong, but there's a lot of bad association to that show for me too. I think her voice sounded worse than it ever has before during the run. I hated her blonde hair too and a lot of the costumes she wore were not flattering. Celine has a better set list by far, her voice is as good as ever, her outfits are as beautiful as she's ever wore, and the show is elegant and classy. I love everything about it. I wish lived close to Vegas like I used to so I can go to the show often. Quote
Dylan Callender Posted March 24, 2011 at 10:22 PM Author Posted March 24, 2011 at 10:22 PM I have to say, being in the audience for 'A New Day' so many times was literally brilliant, the show was something completely new, all the dancers and the big huge stage to the moving stairs to the big screen it was really incredible. But I have to be honest the 'Celine' show is stunning. it's just so classy, pure and full of elegance. This really shows her off and what she can really do with her vocals, Love it plus she looks gorgeous!! Quote
Nmj Posted March 24, 2011 at 10:29 PM Posted March 24, 2011 at 10:29 PM (edited) No, I wouldn't. I didn't like the concept from the start. Ok, I'm just stating that it was pure brilliance, by being there live and seeing it on DVD, the DVD is a total let down compared to the actual show..But as you see since i haven't seen "Celine" yet ( i will in July) I haven't said it was better, all I'm saying is as total show AND was fantastic( her voice wasn't top shape all 5 years but it was great LIVE , like Oprah said it takes you to a new world, leaving you wanting more in the end, and the DVD showcased nothing of that, you wouldn't understand that unless you saw it live, because the TC tour DVD was great but ANDs dvd gave it zero justice, it was poorly edited, and took all the wow effect away) and will be hard to top. Simon Posted March 24, 2011 at 10:41 PM Posted March 24, 2011 at 10:41 PM (edited) No, I wouldn't. I didn't like the concept from the start. Really?! I haven't seen it live ( ) but it seems as it was a HUGE & spectacular show. Everything looked perfect to me, the songs, the dancers & band, Céline's dresses & styles (beside that blond hair she had at the premiere 2003 ).I also haven't seen the new show yet, so I can't say what show is better, but if I could decide between these 2 shows, what show I would like to SEE live I would definitely take "A New Day...". RomualdlovesCeline Posted March 24, 2011 at 10:43 PM Posted March 24, 2011 at 10:43 PM Actually, I only saw her LILV on DVD and saw her TCWT live and DVD; As for the subject in question, I would have loved a combination of both shows; she could have done numbers with the orchestra and then other numbers with dancers and giant screens . I would have loved a mix of both; becoz AND had its magic and Celine has its magic; why not combine the 2 ideas into one? Quote

celinefan5 Posted March 25, 2011 at 01:46 AM Posted March 25, 2011 at 01:46 AM Great topic! I don't know if I can answer this one though! I went to both shows and they were perfect! But I do agree that there is something extra special with Celine. It is just her voice...her wonderful voice I have seen this show 3 times so far and plan to see it many more times if I can. Quote
Haheather Posted March 25, 2011 at 02:01 AM Posted March 25, 2011 at 02:01 AM So far, I'm liking Celine better! Much more classy and VOICE-centered! I Love You Posted March 25, 2011 at 02:04 AM Posted March 25, 2011 at 02:04 AM There both completely different, I have seen A New Day, but I would go with Celine. There is less visual, and less distraction. The new show, is all about her voice. But I would go, with Celine. Quote
Celine2011 Posted March 25, 2011 at 02:51 AM Posted March 25, 2011 at 02:51 AM Being that Ive Never Seen AND in person, on DVD - I have to say - it seemed rather cheesy when I watched it the first time through. It wasnt until I became a fan when I appreciated and knew that there was something special and different about it. In my opinion, it still seems off in a way - more of a Cirque Du Soleil Show than anything else. I know that Celine loves to put on a big show - but alot of aspects of AND - just didnt work (such as - the 50 dancers on stage during IDAN - although it was cool to see - it wasnt Celine) And now, I havent seen Celine either (but I will on July 23!!!!! But this show to me, seems like Celine. I feel its what Ive been wanting for a long time. This time its not about the Dancers + Celine - its just about Celine. So, from what Ive seen and read, and listened to - I prefer Celine over AND. Quote
ashleylovesceline Posted March 25, 2011 at 04:40 AM Posted March 25, 2011 at 04:40 AM I haven't seen "Celine" yet -- but from what I have seen/heard they are entirely different and unique. So there really isn't a comparison. But if you're forcing me to choose, I would say A New Day..., because it was the very first show I ever saw Celine perform in and it will always have a special place in my heart. Quote
celinefanonline Posted March 25, 2011 at 05:37 AM Posted March 25, 2011 at 05:37 AM (edited) this one is hard i've seen AND 3 times 1 in 2003 dec and the last 2 showsthen Celine the premiere and 2nd showso i have to sayfor AND when i see it first time in 03 dec it's still abit more theatrical, but then when i see it the second time in dec 07 it's more Celine central more blend together also it takes u to another world.and for Celine the show it's totally different this one is more classy and more Celine focus with really beautiful / classy visual also both director r different, one from Cirque Du Soleil background one from concert kind of background so can u really compare both no not really i love both, but yes i do like "Celine" a little more!! I prefer the last version of A New Day much more... from the moment that To Love You More finished... The show became so interesting with great scenographies with the dancers: Seduces Me; I Surrender; Ammore Annasconuto; If I Could; I've got the World on a String.... That was great great performances!... 1 Quote

C_Airin_D Posted March 25, 2011 at 02:08 PM Posted March 25, 2011 at 02:08 PM (edited) I haven't been at both but i can say Celine for her brilliant powerfull voice like it was 10 years ago, and bc before A new day Celine was all alone on the stage while performing at concerts. It was all about her and her voice. Not dancers, not visual effects, just Celine. Now i see people want show more than just looking at her and the show she's doing, bc as you know she still does it! Maybe A new day, bc the SHOW and Celine's songs.. idk really, but i'd go to "Celine" with pleasure! Edited March 25, 2011 at 02:10 PM by C_Airin_D Quote Want! Believe! Be patient! Celinenvegas Posted March 25, 2011 at 03:28 PM Posted March 25, 2011 at 03:28 PM For me, it's def A New Day. I adored that show, it was amazing. It was a full theatrical production though as where CELINE is mainly focused on her. The shows are totally different but if you had 2 theaters with both shows I would be attending A New Day for sure. Does anyone else miss "Seduces Me"??? 1 Quote ~J O E Y~
