I think, there are some songs in Celine's Miracle album that would fit well to your wedding

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions, there are so many BEAUTIFUL Celine songs to choose from. Thank you, volleyceline for the If that's what it takes/Pour Que T'aime Encore mix. I have FINALLY made my decision and I want to either do the mix of those two songs or just "If that's what it takes". When I was 10 years old and got my first Celine album, in addition to BYLM and IACBTMN, "if that's what it takes" was my favorite song. I always dreamed about associating it with the love of my love and I can now proudly understand the song's true meaning. I am actually dedicating BYLM to my grandmother at the reception because I always think of her when I hear that song. My mom's an alcoholic and she's been basically my mother growing up and is graciously paying for our reception. She has been the most supporting of my relationship with my fiance.

I think PQTE sounds prettier and better because to me Celine sounds best in french. I do worry about my guests not appreciating it because they don't understand it, and I know that the meaning of PQTME is very different from If that's what it takes. I can identify with ITWIT more, but love the sound of PQTME.

Could you guys listen to the mix of the two and let me know if you think it would be best to use the mix or just "If that's what it takes"?

There are so many wonderful Celine songs, but when i think about my fiance and I, I connect with "If that's what it takes" the most. I'm having an orchestra quartet there as well for the other music,. What do you guys think about them playing along with Celine's recording of if thats what it takes? Would it be too much? I'm not sure if it would even work because you hear mostly drums and piano in it.

If I do end up using the youtube mix of PQTME and IFTWIT, how do I get it to itunes? Anyone tech savy? I have a tape recorder on my ipod that I could play the youtube version and record it into itunes but I think the sound quality will be affected, making it sound more distant.

Thanks again to everyone! I really appreciate it!

'If That's What It Takes' is a wonderful song so don't think anymore and just do it! If this is the song that you and your man relate to, don't hesitate at all! Just have 'your' song played on your wedding day! Nothing could be better that this! Good luck!

If That's what it takes is a nice song but this is for your wedding. Maybe you can have the song played but i believe that you have to pick songs that has a clear message.

This is a wedding and those who will attend will really pay attention to the lyrics of the song. If they will hear the song, especially for those who already got married, they would have wished they should have that song played when they had their wedding. and for those who hasn't been married yet, they would think , this is the song that they also want to be played on their wedding.

If That's what it takes has a great message too but i feel that there are other songs that are better and has better melodies too

for instance if you play Miracle:

MIRACLE

Lyrics: Linda Thompson

Music: Stephen Dorff

You're my life's one miracle

Everything I've done that's good

And you break my heart with tenderness

And I confess it's true

I never knew a love like this 'til you

You're the reason I was born

Now I finally know for sure

And I'm overwhelmed with happiness

So blessed to hold you close

The one that I love most

Though the future has so much for you in store

Who could ever love you more

The nearest thing to heaven

You're my angel from above

Only God creates such perfect love

When you smile AT me I cry

And to save your life I'd die

With a romance that is pure in heart

You are my dearest part

Whatever it requires

I live for your desires

Forget my own, your needs will come before

Who could ever love you more

There is nothing you could ever do

To make me stop loving you

And every breath I take

Is always for your sake

You sleep inside my dreams

And know for sure

Who could ever love you more

the powerful lines that those who will attend would not forget:

I never knew a love like this 'til you

You're the reason I was born

The nearest thing to heaven

You're my angel from above

Only God creates such perfect love

You are my dearest part

There is nothing you could ever do

To make me stop loving you

anything else????

So for me, Miracle is better than ITWIT. BUt..................................

Since you've mentioned that If That's What It Takes is your favorite song then go for it. Playing your favorite song would make you the happiest person at that moment.

Yes, 'Miracle' is a great love song although we connect it mostly to Celine & motherhood.

Hi everyone,

I am getting married on June 18, 2011 and I am trying to pick a Celine song to walk down the aisle to. I am having a really hard time choosing a song so I thought I'd get some opinions from other fans. First let me tell you a little bit about my fiance and I. We met four years ago at a Tractor Supply store where we both worked. We were both sales associates and my fiances got moved up to manager within two years. We spent a lot of time together at work and quickly became close. He's 31 years older than me and got divorced a few years ago, and has children my age. So it's like a Celine and Rene story, which I definitely never planned on! My mom actually thought I was trying to be Celine for dating this man. I truly never wanted to be with someone that much older than me but we have a lot in common, have a great time together, and "get" each other. I truly think Celine was brought into my life to show me that it is ok to fall in love with someone far away in age. Maybe everything's happened for a reason. We have gone through a lot to be together and many of our family members do not approve of our age difference, but we also have some wonderful friends and family members who have been supportive from the beginning. My grandmother is paying for my wedding and has been my biggest fan through everything. It's an outside wedding, near a river, under a pergola. My dress is a replica of Taylor Swift's "Love Story" dress from her music video and that is kind of the theme. However, I have been a Celine fan for 17 years and just HAVE to walk down the aisle to one of her songs! lol Ok enough rambling.

Here are the songs that I am thinking of:

-The Colour of My Love (since it's a wedding song, but it's honestly not my favorite)

-Taking Chances (this song inspired my fiance to tell me he had feelings for him because it used to be my ringback, but I worry it might be too upbeat for a aisle walk)

-Pour Que T'aimes Encore (I worry it being too long and people getting upset that they dont understand it. I think it's beautfiul and relates to our love because we have both given up things/people to be together. I have thought about cutting one of the intros Celine talks about the song during the TC store. She tells the English speaking fans what the song is about and that most people could relate to it. I thought I could put the Celine live intro and then use the actual album recording since the quality is better than live versions)

-A New Day Has Come (it's so lively and beautiful. I love the rhythms and melodies, but it reminds me of the birth of a child rather than a wedding. Any thoughts?)

-I Knew I Loved You (One of Celine's covers. Absoultutely gorgeous, but kind of slow and long, and it's not one of Celine's own songs)

I am open to other suggestions as well! I appreciate everyone's thoughts.

I think ANDHC (slow version, not radio remix) would be perfect. I mean falling in love is like starting a new day. :D That's what i would choose if i was getting married. And the The Reason should be played at your wedding at some point too..best love song in my opinion lol.

I think this one is about friendship...

Not really. I think it's about something just a little more than friendship...

I would choose the power of love, because you loved me, Pour que tu m'aime encore or a new day slow version...and leave Taking chances!!!
