I always find it strange when people walk down the aisle to someone singing, I guess I've always felt it was more of an instrumental moment. This way you also don't have to worry about people "misinterpreting" the lyrics. (Though I highly doubt anyone will be focused on the lyrics with a beautiful bride walking down the aisle!) Check out youtube for some ideas. If you're going to hire a pianist they could always play a song for you too. ANDHC on the piano is breathtaking! Anyway, I see why she wants a song in English but I'd rather choose a French one. For example, 'Mon reve de toujours' (sorry if didn't spell it the right way) seems suitable. I also think that using an instrumental version of a song is a great idea. I myself am totaly crazy about the melody of 'L'amour existe encore'. I have my orchestra director from HS there with a small group of students and they are playing all of the other ceremony music as well as some music in between the ceremony and reception while pictures are being taken. They are going to play classic weddings as well as a few celine songs like to love you more and beauty and the beast. I have just always pictured walking down the aisle to Celine's voice so that is why I am so determined to find the best song. So far after hearing your suggestions this is what I like: -Have You Ever Been In Love -The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (though I worry it's a little intense, talks about lying with the person and at the ceremony I think it's supossed to be a little more innocent. lol) -Love Doesn't Ask Why (but a little too ballad like in parts) -Colour of My Love-(I only connect with last verse of this song when she talks about "with this ring"..I LOVE that verse. So I'm thinking maybe I could use another song and add that verse to the end of it..maybe to the end of Have You Ever Been in Love) -I knew I loved you (Still think it's gorgeous, just a bit slow) -I know what love is (it's been awhile since i listened to this one, gotta give it a try) -A song for you (gotta give this one a try too, but it is a bit slow as well) I'm looking for something simple and not an over the top power ballad (hard with Celine Has anyone else walked down the aisle to Celine, if so what did you use? And this songs speaks about that feeling. "I know what I want, I know what I need. But there's just one thing I must believe. Deep in the night by a dying flame, you will be there when I call your name" - If That's What It Takes: I thought about myself singing this song on my sister's wedding, but I finally didn't, haha. Just think this is an amazing and beautiful song, saying everything I would love to say to my love one (if I ever get one, hehe). "Every second I live, that's the promise I make. Baby, that's what I'll give, if that's what it takes" -Falling Into You: I think is perfect for you, speaks about how you were falling in love with each other, the fears someone can feel while getting in love. "So close your eyes and let me kiss you. And while you sleep I will miss you..." One of the best thoughts ever. For me, here are the opcions. Of course, The Power Of Love, The Colour Of My Love, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (wich I don't think talks about making love, just laying together) If You Asked Me Too and the others are all great songs.
