Question about eating and dining out in Vegas

I have a question if anyone can help, I will be in vegas from the 19th to the 27th of march and i was wondering what i should expect to spend on food while im there, i mean im bringing around 700-800 for souviners/food for a week, is that enough you think?

I felt like the food was well priced when I was there. Hell, I ate a meal every two hours. Everytime I'd eat I would find a new place I wanted to try and immediately went. I got sick because I was eating three dinners lol

ill be eating well wednesday the 23rd of march due to the diamond package i got. i wonder if in that package they say a complimentary drink with my meal and one complimentary drink at the colloseum mean alcohol, hehe,ill be at the bar lmao after the show

Spice Market Buffet at Planet Hollywood for lunch or dinner. Caesar's Palace Cafe Lago breakfast buffet! Highly recommend these two!!! Don't know if they still have that special "Buffet of Buffets" where you pay $30 for a 24 hour buffet pass. If they do TAKE ADVANTAGE, you get to try all of them for one low price.

Yeah it was awesome, my friends and I bought a bracelet and were able to make lunch at Paris, dinner at Spice Market and Breakfast at Cafe Lago, so it's $10 a meal, and you get to experiment so many different foods!

Las Vegas has some of the best food available in the USA... I've ordered roomservice in THEhotel which was great (though pricy), I've eaten at Stripsteak in Mandalay Bay which has some great food, Craftsteak in MGM Grand has also lovely food, I've had some wonderfull Italian food in Il Mulino, the food in Mix on top of Mandalay Bay was great, etc...

There are just so many great restaurants in Las Vegas that it's hard to choose from... Only 1 thing: visiting a decent restaurant in Las Vegas has his price... Back in 2009 I spend more then 350 USD for a single meal for myself alone... Just an appetizer, an entree and a dessert with some wine... I admit, it included a "Kobe Style Waygu" Beef steak of more then 200 USD alone... But it was one of the best "steaks" I had ever eaten... (If you like Kobe beef: there is almost no "real" Kobe available in the USA since it's limited in export by Japan, so don't get excited if you see "Kobe beef" on a menu, it's probably only "Kobe Style Waygu" from a American animal and not a Japanese one

But there is no need to spend hundreds of Dollars on food... You can visit the best buffets in the USA which are all located in Las Vegas in the casino's... It's cheap, the food is remarkable good (for a buffet) and it's all you can eat... Besides that you'll find plenty of "fast food", and off strip you'll find also cheaper (but yet decent) restaurants...

A food budget for Las Vegas is difficult... All the food is way more expensive in the USA then here (=Europe) (For example: I can spend less in a 3 ster Michelin restaurant in Belgium then you can easily spend in Las Vegas) but on the other hand, the food has a good quality... For a foodlover who want's to enjoy some good restaurants it's easy to spend more then 1.000 USD on food alone in just days... And even then you don't have to be the big spender... In Mandalay Bay you had a little restaurant called "Fleur de Lys" which offered the "Kobe Beef FleurBurger "Rossini"", an "ordinary" burger which set you back 5.000 USD... Unfortunately it seems that Fleur de Lys is no longer open (which doesn't surprise me since it was always empty when I visited Las Vegas back in 2009) so you can't spend 5.000 USD on a burger :icon_mrgreen:

On the other hand, you can easily pass the day with only 50 USD on food (or less) and still have a wonderfull time with great food... It all depends on yourself... Are you a true foodlover that likes to visit good restaurants? Be sure to bring the cash or the creditcards to Vegas Do you like food but have no need to spend lot's of money in restaurants? Plenty of choices too! Do you just like food and are you on a tight budget? No worries eather, plenty of choices also for you...

Oh btw:

If you are staying in a casino of MGM Resorts International and if you have a M Life account or if you are staying in a casino of Caesars Entertainment (used to be Harrah's entertainment) and you have a Total Reward account then it's in your best interest to eat in the restaurants connected to your casino GROUP and charge the fees to your room. If you gamble during the days and you pass by the Players Club they'll probably be able to take some charges off your account (it's called a "comp"). For instance: If you stay in Mandalay you can easily go have a dinner in Craftsteak (MGM Grand) and put the charges on your room in Mandalay (both are owned by the MGM group). The same applies to the other casino's...

If you are looking for a something quick, or a nice drink before the show, the ''Slice Bar'' is right opposite the Celine store/Colosseum doors so you can watch people arriving/shopping and during A new day... I met Patrick/Micheal there.

Thet do wicked pizza, and a nice ice cold beer

But it's 45 dollars now :S But if you can eat and drink 24 hours with that pass, I think it's still cheaper than buy every meal seperately. You can have a breakfast, a lunch, a dinner and a breakfast again the next morning.

Champagne buffet every Sunday at the Monte Carlo.... Treasure Island, the Wynn, Rio, Mirage, Paris, and Flamingo have good buffets

Yup, that's a Caesar's promotion: http://www.harrahs.com/buffets/faq.html. It's $5 more if you don't have a Total Rewards card (but if you're 21+ you can sign up for free at any of their casinos)

I've been at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel in 2009 for a Santana concert... But didn't visit the Hard Rock café... I've visited HRC in Dallas & San Antonio though and I like it actually, in Dallas they even served great food!

I ate at Hard Rock Cafe in Beijing last week. It sucks. I won't go there again. Don't know about HRC in other places.

The buffet at Harrah's (opposite Caesars) is really good and well priced, as is the cafe there..and usually less busy at meal times than some of the other major hotels. Depending on how well you want to eat it is very easy to spend only a little on food (by having say a slice or two of pizza for dinner at Caesars Palace Slice), and equally as easy to spend a lot (eating in the steakhouses etc). I found though to cut the cost down, have a good and late-ish breakfast and you can last until dinner time for your next big meal. Pick up drinks like bottles of water & soda & snacks from the supermarkets rather than in the hotels to keep the costs down..you can easily spend a lot just due to convenience purchases.

At the end of the day you eat with your budget in mind, so i think with what you've budgeted you'll be fine.

OOH Also if you get a chance, the buffet at the RIO is absolutely awesome! i think it's the longest buffet in Vegas and he food is great..a huge selection. I've never seen anything like it

The buffet at the Bellagio and Mandalay Bay are really good. I also ate once at Ruth's Chris but that is very expensive. Have a wonderful trip!!

recently i bought Fodor's Las Vegas 2011 Travel Guide ( i have to say it's the best travel book i mean Fodors)

About "Hard Rock Cafe" - don't know about the one in Vegas but I've got a meal at the one in Cologne a few years ago and it was one of the worst restaurant visit in my life. The food wasn't good at all plus it was a very small amount for not at all small amount of money. The interior was nice but that was it already.

Guess I'll never be having a meal at a HRC anymore.

The attractively designed restaurant, like most of the others at Wynn, is set away from the din of the casino. There are sake and sushi bars (with some unusual cuts of fish, such as abalone and jackfish), as well as a teppanyaki grill that features items such as Chilean sea bass, Japanese Kobe beef sirloin, and scottish salmon. A floating pagoda table has views of the lagoon, and many tables over look the serene gardens.

$ Ichiza (Japanese) West Side

open daily until 3am and jam-packed at all hours, this modest space is on the 2nd floor of one of the many gaudy shopping centers in the city's burgeoning LIttle Asia section along Spring Mountain Road. Ichiza has developed a cult following for it's sublimely delicious, authentic Japanese fare. Seating is at the bar, in a few booths or at a pair of wooden communal tables. If all these choices prove too daunting, then order the "Omakase" an ever-changing seven course meal fusing the various cuisines. We're getting the Buffet pass for Monday only, because we've got the group lunch on Tuesday and lunch at Lake Las Vegas on Wednesday. We're going home on Thursday :cry:

I've been to a lot of buffets in Vegas and haven't been disappointed by any of them. Stick to ones on the strip though.

To the original poster: $800 should be fine for food and souvenirs, but if that includes the Celine Dion Store, then you might want to bring a little extra, because their items are quite expensive.

I got the diamond package for the 23rd so that comes with a 150 dollar Celine store gift certificate so hopefully 150 will be ok for the store, I refigured my budget for this trip and I'll have 1200 for money so I should be fine. I'm comIn to Vegas alone so hopefully I can meet up with other fans to have lunch with
