Celine is my idol

Posted (edited)

Well I stepped away for a bit and came back to all of this...wow!

My two cents is that it sounds like this was a pretty standard filming of a TV show. Things are filmed out of order, and if there is a surprise given to someone, of course they are going to have to take the celebrity off the stage to prepare for that. The audience of twins would most likely be part of that surprise so the woman wouldn't expect Celine Dion to walk out and give her all of that. This is why editing exists - when we all watch this on Monday it will seem like Celine was there the whole time and snuck away right before the surprise. We take it for granted how much work it takes to make a TV show come together...anyone who has been watching Oprah's Behind The Scenes or anyone who has been to ANY kind of TV show taping (that isn't live) should know this! ;)

I'm glad to see that those who went had a great time and I hope it's something that is remembered forever. And I would hope that everyone is still so excited for everything that is yet to come! SO many will be seeing her in less than a month and the pictures of her arriving in Vegas are a reminder of how stoked we should all be! :)

I said I was lucky. Absolutely. I am very proud to have been there. It was great! She did seem disconnected to me. That's my opinion. and I wasn't alone in thinking that. She was obviously preoccupied with everything happening.

I mean yeah I kind of thought something might be going down when the oprah employee knew my name, grabbed, me and seated me directly across from Celine. Kind of got me excited and all of u would have been too. And Nikki was in the same location right across from me. Yep we thought something was happening. Forgive us for being optimistic. I'm not heartbroken I wasn't featured on the show. Who gives a crap?

I can't believe the hate against me in this thread when u weren't even there! All ive ever been us truthful and upfront with you all. The likelihood of my dream coming true at Oprah under all the afire mentioned circumstances are far greater than any possibility I can think if in the future. So forgive me if my dream seems really heavy on my shoulders right now. I walked in expecting nothing, was given hope, it didn't pan out. I can feel what I feel without thinking twice that it's wrong. It's an honest emotion. Anyway this thread us not about me. I would love it if u all stopped talking about how ungrateful I am and how I think I'm entitled to things which is the farthest from the truth ever. And those that know me know this.

This is not about me! It's about Celine and Oprah and it was great. I love how being honest w you all has freaking left me crying all night. Thanks.

Some people just don't understand Lindsay that the purpose of a Forum is for opinions of everyone.

I thank you for your review of the show, and your opinions...don't listen to the downers, keep your head up high and you'll meet Celine one day... i never thought i would and then it happened! Keep dreaming Lindsay. :)

I'm sorry too that some people took what you said the wrong way,

and I'm one of those who live outside the US and probably wont get a chance like that

I get what you said though, we are human and I think if we were in your situation

we would also have been a little disappointed, which doesn't really mean you are

ungrateful, and don't appreciate being there, I also know we are all entitled to our opinions and I respect it,

I just don't think anyone should be telling ladylindsey how she should feel lol

Anyway I just wanted to say thanks for the details about the show!

and I can't wait to see it on monday

:)

I am anxious to see what gets on camera Monday! All the editing should be interesting. We attended the A show too. Much diff atmosphere as it was abt a little boy w mental issues.

Ohhh she also talked abt her Christmas card last yr (oprah got one) that said "we grew by 4 feet" and had everybody's foot and was also actually expandable to 4 ft tall.... Haha

Lindsey is very capable of standing up for herself, but I feel the need to say something… I can understand how some of you would take her comment as being ungrateful - but you should have waited to hear the whole story first. I was shocked by her comment too, being one of the few who won't be going to Vegas next month - I wondered how someone could be heartbroken after seeing Céline & receiving free Vegas tickets to see her again?? But knowing her, I knew there was more to the story. She had very high expectations about this, understandably so. Oprah’s executive producer herself helped her get tickets to the show. Then, Oprah’s audience supervisor knew her name and seated her. That would make any fan’s mind wonder -- is something going to happen? Then nothing happened. And for all of us when we go to see Céline - we want that connection with her. Be it a locking of the eyes, a smile, wink, handshake, hug -- we want to connect with her. Fans like us want more than a performance - we want a connection. And that didn’t happen either - Celine was understandably probably a little distracted being away from the twins and then having to jet off to Vegas immediately afterwards to be greeted by the entire staff. Which also meant Céline didn't have time to stop afterwards.

When I went to Oprah - there were several fan surprises, and although I was so happy for all of them… I desperately wanted to meet her, too. I understand the mixture of feeling disappointment, while still being extremely thankful and knowing how tremendously blessed you are to have been given the chance to witness an Oprah/Celine taping.

Linds, when it's meant to be it WILL happen. It didn't happen this time because something bigger is in the works for you, I know it!

Just my two cents…

Well well well

drama drama drama

I feel that people should have been more careful and not jump to conclusion when ladylindsey said "heartbroken". I mean, let the woman explain herself first. It could have been really positive or negative. We didnt know at all and people started panicking.

Anyway, in this case it was negative, but she explained herself and it makes sense. I mean after seeing her video and how her world revolves around Celine its totally understandable. She's grateful and thankful for what she had today.

This is mostly, the reason why i wouldnt want to meet celine, (if had the chance i would but i would not force it) because im afraid i meet someone that would be totally different from what i imagine. And you never know on what kind of day / mood celine would be. And if you meet her, chances are that it would be the only time in your life that you do, and so you're left with an unfair/unreal impression of your idole for the rest of your life. Which sucks.

In other words, I think i rather dream than be disappointed.

Don't worry lindsey, some have just written impulsively without knowing the whole story.

Thank you so much for all infos/pictures! And to Lindsey who went trough so much trouble to give us that review. I understand that you're heartbroken, to be so close but not get your moment probably hurts more than to never have been there at all.

MJ's songs and James Bond! :( too many covers are one the way

no news about the album(s) = no album until very late this year or even 2012:(

I just knew she wouldn't mention it and talk about Vegas briefly...

I'm happy she performed at all but I'd prefer one of her own songs...

Well as for the 'heartbroken' part. I totally understand it. It was the same with me. Of course, I was extremely extremely lucky to be able to be backstage before the concert but she was totally disconnected then, the people who were meeting her were only some organizers/directors who didn't even really like her and she was like thinking only about going to start the concert and leave those boring guys... and it wasn't what I expected...

I'll be happy to watch this episode and it's so nice that you can choose whatever show you like. Honestly, I'm fully happy only about one thing - that Jennifer gave the book to Julie. She is one of the best people you could give it.

I think we can take a lesson from what happened to Lindsay, according to her feelings: never take anything for granted! :) never give your hopes too high in a situation like that. I think she had big expectations (yes, the Oprah audience supervisor contributed to that) but if I had been in her shoes, I would have expected nothing to happen since the very first minute I walked inside the Oprah set. Because nothing would be the normal expectative in a situation like that. Yes, it could happen anything... or nothing too (and it DID happen, you all won a pair of free tickets to Céline again in Vegas. They were giving you the chance to see (and meet?) Céline AGAIN in the future. The last thing I would have felt is heartbroken or this  Neither Oprah or Céline were obligued to offer free tickets for her new show to anybody, but they did. That would be beyond my dreams if I had been there.

Like I said, cents (or thousands) of loyal fans here have never had the chance to see Céline not even in the last furthest grandstand of one of her concerts yet. Being just in front of Oprah and Céline is just a dream that you're living in real time, so I would not have taken anything for granted. The experience of being there is more than what many of us here will never live :)

So I say, never give up your dreams and work hard to make it happen, yes, but don't let them get out of control. The fall from the cloud can be as hard as the height you have let them rise :thumbsup2: (I know my spanish fellows will understand what I'm saying, we've been through this several times :giggle: )

Don't know how Celine looked on Oprah but in Vegas she looks very superficial, serious, older than she looked at Larry King's, in Julie's interview or photoshoots with twins... then she looked fresh and young... I hope it was just her tiredness because of the busy day

Thank you... Is it me or does she look tired?

I also think she looks a little bit tired, but for sure it was difficult day for her, first public appearance after months and first with twins and they just arrived from Chicago so I think it´s logical.

The woman has twin babies, RC, has just finished two weeks rehearsals in Florida, is moving back to Vegas, just filmed Oprah, and Rene said shes not been sleeping, so give the woman a break, ofcourse shes gonna be tired....

I think she looks great!

Thanks everyone for the info. They're talking about Céline everywhere here today! Céline and René did an interview for Richard Latendresse that you can see here: Céline et René à Las Vegas correspondant Richard Latendresse topo et petite entrevue

She's also in the Journal de Montréal: Journal de Montréal Retour triomphal!

I can't wait to see more of her!!!!!

Merci Céline pour ces deux soirées inoubliables que j'ai passées à tes côtés. Je ne les oublierais jamais.

J't'adore Céline.

Merci.

I also think she looks amazing!!! Oprah's show from 11 am to 3 pm, singing a new song (for her), breastfeed (!!!), flight to LV, huge welcome in LV and all the stress related to the move and being back in the spotlight... I'm tired just thinking about it...

You know how you feel after going on vacation for a few weeks and then have to go back to work!??? Well imagine Celine after all this time away, the twins and all, and now back on Oprah and to Vegas on the same day. Enough to be disconnected I would say... I would be too.
