OMG I JUST GOT THIS EMAIL:

Hello!

You are scheduled to attend The Oprah Show THIS Wednesday, 2/16. There is a special production requirement for this show. Every guest MUST be at least 21 years of age or older. Please respond to this email ASAP and confirm everyone in the party is over 21. If someone is under 21, please submit a name change. We will be happy to reschedule the guest who is under 21 in another show.

Thanks and see you soon!

~The Audience Team

DO YOU THINK THIS MEANS WE MIGHT BE GOING TO VEGAS?!

We got that too! It's odd that they would have special age requirements for this one show... except that most Vegas casinos won't let you make a reservation if you're under 21... so MAYBE...

Did anyone else get CALLED today? Cause I did and so did another friend! FREAKING OUT. Got that email too and had to confirm I was 21.

I was seriously like, "Please don't give my seat to a hobo....I'm coming...I'm coming! I'll be there!"

I tell you what, if showgirls with feathers and tigers and Elvis impersonators bust out from backstage I will LOSE it!

That's what I am thinking. Cos you can't even check in at a hotel on the strip unless you're 21, I know a lot of people I deployed with wanted to go to Vegas for their midtour leave and got shut down cos they weren't 21 LOL! I dunno, I'm actively trying to NOT think about it! LOL

No call today, were they just checking to be sure you were coming?

OMG SO SOON GUYS!!!!

i thought they also did when Julie was there, but i guess now we have some new images :D

god how i hope that she would sing something, the talk about her voice being stronger and better then ever

I have no doubt that her voice is stronger and better than ever, but where is that discussion is that in the media or something? I know she's going to come back harder than ever vocally again. I can't believe it, just one more week before those of us not going can see her!! AAAAAAAAAhhhhhh!!!!

Guys, hang in there. I can't say I know what this is like cuzz I'm not going, but I know from the experience of eagerly, actively, trying to not try counting down the days until my show I went to of hers in Sacramento that it's these last few days that can truly be the hardest. Hang on just a while longer if you can, you have all of us here to support you and celine's music and interviews and the wonderful feelings she gives you through those other outlets until you are actually there with her. I know these days/hours seem soooooo long, so hard, the adrenalin only increases as the time wears/creeps along slowly, all you want is to get to her but you will. Don't we all know by now that she makes it so much more than worth it? Half the fun with her is the wait, and she may be just as excited about this as you are. So try to have patience, food and sleep, all things you'll need in the next few days. And those of us seeing it Monday, hang on it won't be long now. Not long now until in one way or another, all of us are seeing our beloved Celine once again

Oh, and happy Valentine's day to all!! I'm so glad that I am here and have finally found/discovered/learned to navigate this place. You all rock!!

Maybe free tickets to the March 12th benefit show? :hmm:

That's what I was thinking too :whistling:

Wonderful! What do you say now as to your previous post? Looks like you are still a fan. Have an awesome time and let us know what happens, especially during the un-aired commercials.

I say I am still shocked this happened and so excited I can't believe it! Thank you for wishing me well. Even though I'm a journalist and usually retain every little detail of things, when something so exciting takes place I always have trouble really remembering it because I lose myself in the experience.

As far as my previous post goes, I was always a fan.... and years ago if this message board was up (Say, until 2003) - I would have probably been on here posting 5 times a day and reading everything for hours and hours. I just knew I had to keep my focus on things I really needed to accomplish and for years I literally didn't the time because I was in school, interning in multiple places, working, and caring for grandparents and parents in their weakest months before they finally passed on. I've never lost my intense adoration of Celine, I just couldn't do the fan community because I can get so easily swept into it and I just can't lose sight of so many things I'm working so hard to accomplish.

But there is no better time than the present for this to happen. I found myself turning more and more to old memories of Celine shows and fan friends and most especially, time I spent with my mother watching Celine's tv appearances. She was bed-bound until her passing 5 years ago this May, and I've been really thinking about that time a lot. The last several months have had a lot of bumps in the road and disappointments and I SO needed something to happen to sort of revive my optimism. THIS IS BEYOND. I am so happy I cannot describe.

I'm sure the other fans going will tell you I'll be ridiculously geeking and hyperemotional and I just hope if the chance to meet Celine presents itself I still speak English. And check it out, this morning my Dad brought me a Valentine's gift, ... a card, a gift card, and a FROG balloon that says I love you! He doesn't know the Celine-frog connection. This really feels like some greater being at work.

haha I will definitely be right there crying with you and forgetting how to walk! Can't wait to meet you and share such an emotional and profound moment

:in_love: It's past midnight here. That means the Oprah show is tomorrow. See Céline TOMORROW! :o

Even though I'm a journalist and usually retain every little detail of things, when something so exciting takes place I always have trouble really remembering it because I lose myself in the experience.

I can kinda relate, when something big happens, even a good big, it's like I leave my body and almost can't remember it, like I'm floating in space or something. I once heard one of my friends, an underground performer, say that she knows she has done a good show when she can only remember the start and the end. And that's how my Celine concert was, I can't really remember it. I think my body was in such shock at having such a dream come true that I just almost was not there in a way.

But if this helps, if you remember any details about what she looks like, let me know as I've never seen her before due to a visual impairment. Thanks.

As far as my previous post goes, I was always a fan.... and years ago if this message board was up (Say, until 2003) - I would have probably been on here posting 5 times a day and reading everything for hours and hours.

But are you saying that's wrong for those of us who do that now? As I said, I did things in reverse order, I'm not a new fan but just now getting the chance to act like one. Is there something wrong with me according to what you are saying because I am where you were at one point but am not now?

I just knew I had to keep my focus on things I really needed to accomplish and for years I literally didn't the time because I was in school, interning in multiple places, working, and caring for grandparents and parents in their weakest months before they finally passed on. same here

and I just can't lose sight of so many things I'm working so hard to accomplish.

Good luck!!

I amso sorry to hear about your mom, even though it's been a while it's still hard. Hoping the next few months are better and that the road is smoother for you.

Okay, I'm going to sound like a new fan here for a sec, but what is the frog and Celine connection? Is it something I have to be able to see to understand?

This really feels like some greater being at work.

I do wish you the best and thank you for your insights. Have fun at the show. I have to say that because of you guys and this place, I'm going to be geeking and crying, I often cry through whole interviews, from my house here in Northern California right along with you all as if I was there. Part of why I joined here was to find permission to get excited about her, to not be the only one who does so outside the safe confines of their own home. I've stated before in other posts that I have some of my mother's negative, critical voices in my head that always tell me to be quiet, keep it down, you're too much, you're interrupting other people's experience, etc. So before this, when I would be home alone watching an interview like the one about to come, I just kept all the emotion and excitement bottled inside myself and it would come out in the form of tears later. Not this time. Thanks to all the positive, affirming, encouraging voices and your own inner fans of her that I see coming out all the time, when she comes out, I actually think I'll be clapping and screaming and shouting out to her at my TV screen from home like you all would if you were there. A huge accomplishment for me as I don't think I would/could have done that before.

Read in another article that they are all flying to Vegas straight after the Oprah show, and when they touch down at Vegas airport, all the media etc. The whole family is coming together. The staff at Caesers is going to line up at the fountains outside the hotel when they land at the airport. :) Now, if they are all together, maybe, just MAYBE, the twins might come out on Oprah? You are all going to freak out if that happens. :kicking: :kicking: Enjoy yourselves, everybody. :flowers: :-D We should have pics on Thurs of them arriving in Vegas. :in_love:

Yeah I think the Oprah audience will be attending the March 12th show.... :)

Also for those of you going to Oprah tomorrow, I think from whats been said about her going straight to Vegas after Oprah... I don't think she'll stop after the show, as she'll be allocated a time slot to take off, so I think its best to be at the garage early before the show for a chance to see her... :P

Arriving earlier in Vegas and get greeted by employees?! That means I hope new pictures before the weekend!??

Oh my gosh, I am absolutely NOT saying I think there is anything wrong with this community now! I completely and wholly relate to what you mean about how grateful you are for the forum and finding others who share in this incredible feeling you have for and from Celine. I guess I'm saying that when I had those days long ago - and it probably speaks to my own life status at the time - being a Celine fan was MY ENTIRE LIFE for several years, and though I was able to see several shows in far away places when I was as young as 17, it was not only my top priority, but it was my only priority, but I couldn't admit to it - and I'd say meeting Celine was probably my deepest wish. Obviously when I put my heart into trying to find a way to see the Oprah show this time, a lot came out that I'd tucked away deep inside of me away and like I said, the opportunity presenting itself would probably tap into deeper emotions than I could ever articulate.

I'll share with you what inspired me to write the post I did about my personal fan journey and how I kind of stepped outside of it and why. I was googling my old screen name, to which all of my old message board posts are tied, and though some of those posts are 11 years old, my heart broke to read some of the things I had written. Some of it had to do with my age and things going on in my life that just made Celine that much more important to me, but in those years I would say my desire to meet Celine had a certain desperation to it that made me very sad to remember. I can remember vividly when Oprah reservations were done exclusively by phone, and we'd all begun to catch onto Celine's promotional schedule because she was SO busy during 98-99, I somehow knew an Oprah show was coming up and I could not get tickets and I remember crying my eyes out because it felt so unfair, and it was because I wasn't 18 yet. At 19, the Oprah show happened to be on the scene when I was at my father's U.S. citizenship ceremony doing a show post 9/11 about what it means to become an American, and I remember asking a producer to give me advice on how I'd be able to ever attend an Oprah/Celine show, and she told me to write a letter. I did. Nothing happened. The next time around when Celine was coming, I can vividly remember overhearing my mom calling on my behalf without my knowledge (because the end of the show, they'd announce that they were looking for fans) - and she pleaded about how much I loved Celine. It became an issue of feeling hopeless and incomplete because it hadn't happened, yet I had met so many other amazing people - her parents (twice), Michel, Rene, and even Rene's son, Patrick, the band, and heck, I ran into Jane Seymour TWICE at two separate Celine events. I did get the pointing and waving from Celine when i was in a row, and someone took a letter to her backstage for me once and got me an autograph, and I got to high five her one time, too, but I still dreamed of having a conversation with her, hugging her, and explaining what she means. I'm so glad it didn't happen then, and if it ever does happen, which I'm okay with either way, I have so much more understanding of what she meant and always has meant to me and why. I've been through the hardest times of my life SINCE that period of time, and her music has a whole new meaning for me and an even deeper effect. Yet, I'm much more calm than I was back then.

Beyond that, there was a lot of competition among some fans my age who would literally want to argue over who was the "biggest fan" and what made someone a bigger fan than someone else. It was ridiculous, and when I would get a great opportunity, some would get jealous and resentful and my only defense was that I must have wanted it more because I certainly didn't have any real financial security of my own and my parents maxxed out on paying for me to see Celine after a couple Celine-related Christmases and a couple of local shows. I felt for kids younger than me whose parents weren't keen on allowing them to travel, but my parents were supportive of me working hard to achieve the means to do stuff, and I was incredibly lucky to have at the time two Celine fan friends who were in more financially secure situations than I was who wanted me there with them for two of the shows I saw in NYC Radio City and Montreal Millennium. Vegas premiere was my 21st birthday present, and as I was in school and trying to pay for college and stuff, it suddenly became very clear to me that my desire to see Celine had been very fulfilled, I had been able to do things so many others weren't and I owed more thank yous to people than I could ever really get out, and my desire to put the kind of energy into Celine into something that would help me become a self sufficient adult had kind of won out. I'm so glad it did, and I had the foresight to know that Celine would always be around.

I actually ended up in my first serious long term romantic relationship of nearly two years with a guy who might have even been a bigger fan than I was at the time, which I didn't think possible, after meeting him in Centre Molson in Montreal the night before the millennium concert. We were listening to Celine's soundcheck from some vacant hallway as close to the interior of the stadium as we could and clicked right away.

Over the years I have kept myself involved in following TV shows and loving the latest recordings, but what really started to stir that deep feeling again was last year when Through The Eyes of the World came out. I had to go alone because nobody I knew would, but I did, and I went twice.

And now, here I am, without shame, ready to make some new friends and rediscover as an adult what has been in me all this time. I know my mom will be with me on Wednesday, too, in spirit.

CANNOT WAIT to meet you guys!!!
