ladylindsey Posted January 17, 2011 at 02:23 AM Posted January 17, 2011 at 02:23 AM ohhh I know where I'm spending next New Years! Quote
ImACelineDionFan Posted January 17, 2011 at 04:47 AM Posted January 17, 2011 at 04:47 AM I really hope they'll stick with Celine singing HER OWN songs!! I'm coming all the way to Vegas to see Celine sing the songs I know and love (Now, this isn't necessarily meaning the overplayed hits, I really would like to see her perform some of her more obscure songs as would a lot of other fans)! Honestly, I would love to see another TCWT, but of course bigger and better and "Vegas-ized." Quote
No1IrishFan Posted January 17, 2011 at 11:55 AM Posted January 17, 2011 at 11:55 AM So since the show was announced, I have been thinking that Celine is only doing 70 shows per year because thats all she wanted to do and that she wants more freedom. I get from this article that if the economy was still booming, Celine would be back to 200 per year. Quote
smw Posted January 17, 2011 at 04:52 PM Posted January 17, 2011 at 04:52 PM So since the show was announced, I have been thinking that Celine is only doing 70 shows per year because thats all she wanted to do and that she wants more freedom. I get from this article that if the economy was still booming, Celine would be back to 200 per year. I'm sure it's probably a combination of both. But, as her fan, I'm very happy to know she's only doing 70 shows a year. She didn't need to do 200 again. She's already shown that she can do that. I think keeping it down to 70 will have all sorts of benefits. Quote
Alex_Incognito Posted January 17, 2011 at 05:06 PM Posted January 17, 2011 at 05:06 PM I agree. 200 is just too many, and her voice did suffer from all of those performances. This time around I hope they'll keep better tabs on that and that she'll not be the "robot" that she feared she'd become. Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990
Derek F. Posted January 17, 2011 at 08:13 PM Posted January 17, 2011 at 08:13 PM I liked the idea of "Classic Hollywood" song's, but too many of them might of hurt the new show, so it's probably good that the theme changed. I do hope that Celine does still include some covers of the biggest movie classic's from the 1930's through the 1990's, along with her own movie classic's like My Heart Will Go On, Because You Loved Me, Beauty and the Beast, and When I Fall In Love. With the new technology added in it can be one of the best parts of her show! Celine is known as the biggest movie song artist, and we all know she can take a cover and make it incredible where it is then her song! As for the the new show's name, has anything changed there too? I have always thought that Timeless would be a great choice. Celine is timeless and most of her songs are too! I think it is good to have a title for a show, but if it stays "Celine" that's fine with me, she is why people will be seeing the show including myself! It also shows starpower! I can't wait to see it, it will be my 3rd time seeing Celine in concert after seeing A New Day... and the Taking Chances world tour! God bless Celine! Quote
MustangSven Posted January 17, 2011 at 09:19 PM Posted January 17, 2011 at 09:19 PM She's definately not going to add more shows - remember she has those two new commitments at home that will occupy her time and thoughts Quote In Love With This Gal
Shaun Posted January 17, 2011 at 11:49 PM Posted January 17, 2011 at 11:49 PM (edited) It makes sense that they are using the economy to blame the lack of shows but Celine made it crystal clear that she would only ever return to Las Vegas if it was on a schedule that suited her. This arrangement does. Whilst Caesars might request extra shows here and there I fully expect Celine's total of yearly shows to hover about the 70 mark. She knows she made a huge error last time in committing to 200 shows a year, however successful it was. She even said so in the "A New Day..." DVD. She's got 3 kids and an ageing family to take care of now. We should be grateful she's still performing at all to be honest. I Love You Posted January 18, 2011 at 02:17 AM Posted January 18, 2011 at 02:17 AM (edited) I fell blessed, that I will be able to see a third time this year. Also we should be grateful that Celine, is even doing another show at Caesars. Also I can see why, she doing fewer shows than A New Day. She is a mother, of three.
