Sorry if there are any errors in translating this French article via an internet transaltor.http://www.cyberpresse.ca/arts/musique/201...ire-plaisir.php (Las Vegas) The new show that will give Celine Dion in Las Vegas from March 15 has changed several times identity. Initially, we wanted to present the spectacle of the Colosseum 2008-2009 world tour Taking Chances. Then, in February 2010, we announced a concert whose theme is the romance of classic movies from Hollywood. "These are great songs, but not to vote for a singer like Celine," says Yves Aucoin, Production Designer. "In fact, there was concern that it is flat bin," says laughing Denis Savage, director of operations. In recent months, the design concept has changed to include the greatest hits of Celine Dion with a third party other familiar songs, with one or two exceptions, but she will perform for the first time. "It was important that it makes it fun and sing what she wants to sing," says music director Claude Lemay Mego who worked with the singer until a few days of her confinement. Celine Dion will be surrounded by 31 musicians including his regular band led by Mego, and string sections and brass. The idea of the orchestra has gained momentum during the show on the Plains of Abraham in August 2008. Percussionist Paul Picard is back, after losing his place to Nanette Fortier, and the singer Mary-Lou Gauthier will be replaced by Dawn Cumberbatch we saw recently with Daniel Bélanger. Rehearsals begin with Celine Dion these days in Florida. This is the first time that the lines directed by Philippe Dunnigan, and Brass will play with the group of Mego. All this beautiful world will meet in Las Vegas around Valentine's Day to repeat the scene in the Colosseum. The show's artistic direction was entrusted to Ken Ehrlich, the longtime director of the Grammys ceremony has signed a few specials of Celine Dion on American TV. It was he who invited to participate in a tribute to Michael Jackson last year. "Even if he works for television, he has a musical culture. Of all the directors with whom we worked, this one is closest to our universe, "said Mego. A stylish show Contrary to A New Day, the new show will focus not only on dance and circus as Franco Dragone. Finished the scene that gave tilted back pain to the singer. "We spent over $ 40 million on the first show, this time it will be a little less, I think," said John Meglen President producer AEG Live. It will be a stylish show. Celine does not need to do another show inspired by the circus, but it will be a show we can see that in Las Vegas. "Selesner Gary, president of Caesars Palace, added:" In Las Vegas, it must that viewers have the breath, they return home, telling all their friends will see it! I was given an overview of some of the highlights of the show. Nothing like this has ever been attempted. " Ken Ehrlich knows Celine Dion since the early 90s. Making it an exceptional artist, he says, is her confidence in her and that she loves to be challenged and take risks. "The previous show was bigger than life, the first to marry the circus with a headline. This time, Las Vegas knows more about Celine and Celine is more at home in Las Vegas. There must be a wow factor! but it is not necessary to have 40 dancers on stage and people flying through the air. We want to show how Celine is a great artist, and frankly, it does not always apparent in the previous show because there's so much going on around her. " The large screen of A New Day will still be used, but it has not as dominant a role, Ehrlich promised that speaks of new technological discoveries and emphasizes the contribution of the Montreal company Moment Factory in terms of video. Aucoin and Savage want to especially exploit the huge stage of the Colosseum, which is four times the size of the Bell Centre. "Celine said," I do not want a gimmick, "says Aucoin. Whatever we do, we do not surpass the power of this woman. We just try to make it interesting about her. " Quote

Sorry if there are any errors in translating this French article via an internet transaltor.http://www.cyberpresse.ca/arts/musique/201...ire-plaisir.php thank you!! very interesting article!! most interesting bits to me: In recent months, the design concept has changed to include the greatest hits of Celine Dion with a third party other familiar songs, with one or two exceptions, but she will perform for the first time. "It was important that it makes it fun and sing what she wants to sing," says music director Claude Lemay Mego who worked with the singer until a few days of her confinement. Hopefully that'll mean; not TPOL, VEGAS medley & MHWGO Contrary to A New Day, the new show will focus not only on dance and circus as Franco Dragone hopefully this will mean that there will be some dance(rs)!!! I want Aaron back! We want to show how Celine is a great artist, and frankly, it does not always apparent in the previous show because there's so much going on around her. ...Whatever we do, we do not surpass the power of this woman. We just try to make it interesting about her. I hope this will be true! Alex_Incognito Posted January 15, 2011 at 03:28 PM Posted January 15, 2011 at 03:28 PM (edited) The grammar is really off in a few places. It says that contrary to AND, the new show will not be about circus and dance.'--- The Power of Celine, that might make a good title? Don't you think.--that's what this show is about! Whoohoo! Davey84 Posted January 15, 2011 at 03:36 PM Posted January 15, 2011 at 03:36 PM (edited) ah blah! I was worried about that :P http://www.powerofthemusic.com/images/samp/pocd1.jpg if the show's gonna be all stylish and classy and all, it's high time to bring back the Celine logo!! edit 2: I'm still very happy they have abandoned the movie theme! It would have been nice for a tv special, but I don't think it could have attracted a lot of people... the article Alex posted, also made more sense; less shows cos of the crisis, but I do hope that this will leave Céline more time with her family and hopefully also some appearances here and there! Alex_Incognito Posted January 15, 2011 at 03:39 PM Posted January 15, 2011 at 03:39 PM (edited) There's another article here:http://www.cyberpresse.ca/arts/musique/201...e-las-vegas.php It's about why they're changing from 200 shows to 70ish. The answer is mostly because of the economic crisis. It talks about how Celine and Rene had fantastic timing in 2003 with the first show and that only Celine would be capable of selling out this many shows. They met with financial advisors and found out that based on current statistics in the industry they wouldn't sell out every show, perhaps 2 or 3. They bring up the fact that Celine is an international superstar. While Bette Midler and Cher are superstars, they don't have the international superstar status that Celine carries with her (RIGHT ON, CELINE!!!!!!!) It was also said that they are 25% AHEAD of sales on AND and that the average ticket price rose about $20. The article also mentioned that flights from Quebec to Vegas are HOT and they are looking for a larger carrier to fly to Las Vegas. This is exciting! Thomas Posted January 15, 2011 at 04:46 PM Posted January 15, 2011 at 04:46 PM In the opening paragraph are they saying that initially they wanted to do "Taking Chances World Tour: Colosseum Edition" at one point? Interesting! Quote
Nmj Posted January 15, 2011 at 04:48 PM Posted January 15, 2011 at 04:48 PM i dont know what to think about all this. Quote
mirage Posted January 15, 2011 at 05:03 PM Posted January 15, 2011 at 05:03 PM Finally some more news about the show!!! Im suprised to see that they wanted to do an TC colloseum edition!!!And i'm glad that they say that the Hollywood thing isnt something for an artist as celine. I really hope that this will be the show we all want, show how great celine the artist really is, with not too much over the top show! More unplugged! And that she will sing the songs she wants to sing, not what Rene wants and thinks ;-) Quote
smw Posted January 15, 2011 at 05:08 PM Posted January 15, 2011 at 05:08 PM Still doesn't seem very concrete. But there's definitely some new information in there. I didn't realize rehearsals were starting in Florida. Quote
