Do you think Celine dion sings emotionally over her 30 years singing career?

The emotion is there, but sometimes she lacks in soul. I think her being a mother dulls her stage emotion a tad...but also her career is 25+ years long so the songs do lose some meaning as well.

Is this a trick question? Celine is the most emotional singer out there and always has sang with emotion and always will... just my opinion

She has lost emotion in the songs she has sang over and over again.

 

It's evident in PQTME at Boston.... and the playback songs even.

 

I think she sounded a lot more emotional in the 90's to be honest. Particularly the early 90's before her love with Rene was exposed.

 

Her love with René wasn't made public until 1993 because of their fears so it was a circumstance too. They got married the year after that, and surely they did that so soon because their love was made public.

I just don't see it as much. BYLM now is such a bore. It's like - "robot mode - ON" and there we go..... You can see it in her body language that it just isn't the same as it was.

 

Sure, she has gave her two most emotional performances in this decade (The Prayer at LKL and WAWW in Vegas), but those were just circumstances. Overall, it's not emotionally there like it once was.

I never mentioned anything about her wedding. I don't know what you're trying to say.

 

Losing a parent is a lot more emotional than getting married. Partly because when getting married, you have good things to look forward too. You're on a high. When losing a parent, there is nothing to look forward too. It's just a low. It's unexpected. You don't know it is going to happen. A wedding, you know many months in advance. So of course, it makes sense that she is going to cry the day her dad died but not when she gets married. Not to mention she never sang anytime close to her wedding except a week or two after and that was Think Twice. Nothing to get emotional about.

 

They exposed their feelings in 1993 and got married on 17th December 1994. I don't know when they announced their wedding, but I've always assumed that it must have been relatively shortly after making their love public; so I was relating those two things. Plus, they were both circumstances in her life: of course losing a parent is a lot more emotional, -and it's also true that you know better a person depending on how he/she acts when he/she suffers such a blow-. BUT nothing means that any one of those things is not a circumstance. Both of them are.

When you sing MHWGO more that 1000 times ( I think, if we count Vegas and tours and TV shows) it is hard to find the " emotion " but I am pretty sure she is very in touch with her feelings on stage...watch Sur les Plaines...when she sings with Ginette Reno or when she sung " At Seventeen" you can feel her, but you have to undertand that sometimes she is not "there"
