What time will this be???

I don't know that we have a set time just yet... Jane is getting together most of that stuff and that should all be announced soon. I do believe it is around lunch time though

No, you're right.. we'll be dancing all together.. its just that the way a 'flash mob' works is that it starts with one or two dancers, then builds up to 6 or 8, then builds to 20 and so on until you have a whole GROUP of people dancing together... So, the 'stronger' dancers start at the beginning and the 'less strong' join in throughout the song. :thumbsup2:

awww thank you so much! :wub: seriously.. your comments just made all that work worth it! I hope it does go really well and now with hearing that Celine will be staying in the Caesars Palace suite , hopefully we will have a better shot of her catching it out her window or something. Regardless, my main concern is to have people on the strip stop and watch and just have everyone have fun with it! We actually have alot of las vegas locals getting involved and learning the dance.. we're probably at 90 participants right now! Hopefully more are learning it and will just show up at rehearsal in vegas! :thumbsup2:

I hope it doesnt turn into a crazy busted MESS haha :laugh:

I just returned from Vegas, and while coming out of the casino at Caesars, I discovered an area of the Colosseum where there is a loading dock. The doors were open and I could see the stage area.They were installing a chandelier for the show. If someone knew how to get a message to Rene about our project and how we have been practicing with Utube for months, I bet he could get Celine to step out onto the loading dock for just a moment to watch us do the Flash Mob on the big empty concrete area just below the loading dock. I think Celine will be at the Colosseum by 3 or 4pm and it would just be steps for her to come to that area. If she has a videographer following her around, it would make a great segment for a future DVD. The video would show Celine's reaction to our dance (like segments in her TCWT DVD.) Rene is always looking for new ideas for Celine. I think it could happen. Who knows how to contact Rene or his team?

woulnt that be awesome for first of all for Celine to see it, but second of all to see her reaction! :wub: Those are all great ideas. I think we'll try our best to get the word out about the flash mob but even if we dont get the right people involved, maybe we could get a great video of it!

WHICH REMINDS ME....

we will need 'videographers' ... from every direction... some doing overhead shots, some up close.. some from far away getting the whole group, Then we can compile the videos into one large video of the flash mob! ) Any takers? :shrug:

Oh yes an HD camera would be great! lets have say.... one person shooting from above... so maybe if someone can get a great shot from their hotel window or something? and several from the ground... at different angles. Maybe one person just recording the onlookers reactions.. we can cut and paste it into the overall video... :whee:

If I can get it all as "carry on" I'll bring the following equipment with me:

Canon XH-A1 semi professional HD camera

Sony HDR CX-116E consumer full HD camera

Nikon D300s semi professional DSLR (with HD filming capacity)

In the worst case I'll leave the Canon at home but bring the rest with me. So if anyone is interested some of my equipment can be used by others

I'll also bring my Macbook Pro with me with editing software so it can be edited if necessary before posting it online

Good thing you remind me of that... My tripod is broken, I'll order a new one which I hopefully can fit in my suitcase within weighlimits (should work out since I can bring 2x 32kg with me).

I am in contact with Caesars working on the details.

My contact has direct contact to Celine and Rene so he'll tell them about it closer to the time.

It will be after 3pm on the 15th.

Location will remain secret until the day.

We will plan to meet outside the colosseum, near the strip, where we'll take our group photo after lunch and then move to the flash mob location.

Take this into consideration if you plan on changing your clothes between lunch and the flash mob.

Remember that there are also local people participating in this, not just Celine fans. This will make it bigger and better. Some of them are professional dancers and they are all very excited about it.

I think we'll have to wait until we're in Las Vegas to decide where the videographers will be.

Maybe we could meet up the day before to work it out? Vic, Bellamy, Stijn? Anyone else?

My husband will help with that too.

Anyone can still join if you like. There is no real deadline for this. As long as you give yourself time to learn the choreography.

First I learned all the steps, after that I only practice with the music, it's a bit easier for me with the music them to learn all the counts.

Fine by me but if possible only at the evening, the 14th I'll be coming back from Los Angeles so it will be probably quite late before I'll arrive back in Vegas.

I got some of those Dr. Scholl's Fast Flats for the flash mob- I thought sneakers would hinder my groovin' - I think they'll work well and allow u to turn easier, etc!

Just a suggestion- and they're cheap! $9

Only 2 weeks to go people. We are so excited... I hope you all are practicing! I know it looks intimidating but just jump in and half fun with the dance overall! I’ve heard from several of you who have got it down! Its fun now, right? The only thing that will make you have EVEN more fun with it is to practice is until it feels natural. Then you won’t have to worry as much when the day comes to perform! 

Now we need to get some close-to-accurate numbers of participants so we can make sure that our location is large enough.

Please send me a message AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to confirm your attendance.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE:

We will have a practice on Tuesday, March 15th at 12:00 noon. This practice will be in the ‘Pearl Room’ in the Imperial Palace on the 4th floor. This is the same room the directors of the International Celine Dion Fan Meeting are using for their 11am meeting registration.

**Celine fans, if you are present for that then you should already be in the right place by noon.

**Non-Celine Fans (Las Vegas locals/dancers) Feel free to come to the Imperial Palace Pearl Room for practice at noon. You might have to make your way through the crowds of Celine fans but we’ll find you and get started!

I understand if you are unable to attend the practice. That is okay and will not affect whether or not you perform. With that being said, I highly recommend the practice if you ARE able to make it. Running through the routine is what will set us apart from any other home-made flash mob. We need to feel what the performance feels like as a whole. We ALSO need to choreograph where everyone will come in at and where we will stand. PLEASE try your best to be at the Pearl Room at the Imperial Palace at noon. This practice may make or break the final performance. The practice will last no longer than an hour.

PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:

We will be meeting on the strip outside the Coliseum at 3:30p.m. on Tuesday, March 15th and then we'll move over to the secret location in smaller groups as conspicuous as possible. This is when the practice helps a lot because a lot of your role is to act…. Act like you are a tourist, act like you are shocked by what you see (until you join in) etc.

We are currently in contact with the Entertainment Director of Caesar’s Palace about this Flash Mob and he is very excited. We have a few volunteers that are going to video with their HD cameras that we will later compile into a video of the dance. ****If you are not dancing but interested in videoing PLEASE come to the practice as well. You will be assigned a particular part to video record: i.e. the crowd’s reactions close up shots, overhead shots, etc.

We hope you are all as excited as we are! Practice, practice, practice!
