I think a lot of people are turned off by Mariah - because she is SO private about her personal life. And she tries so hard to just focus on her public persona. But it's incredibly refreshing to see her come out and be honest.

 

I have always respected her voice. And I'm happy to get this glimpse into her private life.

Coincidents Mariah has a new Xmas album out? No one wondered why she waited till now to announce it, or just wait longer?

 

While Celine has nothing to promo right now, only to share with her fans.

Indeed. She waited all this time to announce her pregnancy only to create a buzz to sell herself and her Xmas album.

 

She addressed this rumor once and for all; She had her single "Oh Santa" released WAY before she talked to Access Hollywood. If Celine had an album coming out right now, she would have been in the same shoes of Mariah's. The thing with Celine is that Team Celine doesn't even listen to what fans' need. The only thing that we got from Celine since her TCWT DVDs/CDs is album photos of her. Did anyone ask for those? Are we fans waiting for photos of hers? The first photo album was OK becoz it was mainly photos of her tour; however, the second book [which I don't plan to buy ever] is just out of context. I mean Celine's popularity isn't at her highest but selling a book where she exposes intimate moments of her life is a bit "desperate" to gain attention back. And on another side note, Celine also didn't uncover her babies' names until Julie Snyder's Interview; wonder why? to get people to watch the interview and for TV ratings; Mariah isn't after all the only sell-out

After suffering a miscarriage nearly two years ago, Mariah Carey picked up a helpful tip from a fellow singing superstar who also struggled with infertility – Celine Dion.

 

“[Celine Dion] was talking about acupuncture,” Mariah told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush in an exclusive interview. “I used to get acupuncture, and I had never thought [of it] with regards to the trying to conceive situation.”

 

Before she knew it, acupuncture became part of Mariah’s daily calming routine.

 

“I was [getting acupuncture] like once a day at least,” she told Billy. “It was on a schedule, everything. For the first time in my life, I spent time in one place — as you know I’m always traveling just all over the place.”

 

The “Shake It Off” singer said acupuncture has dramatically reduced her stress level, which was crucial in helping her get pregnant.

 

“People who know me would be like, ‘You scheduled acupuncture at a certain time every day? You stayed in one place? You listened to these weird, etherial tapes?’” she told Billy.

 

Mariah also enlisted the aid of hormone treatments to increase her fertility chances – the side effects of which caused pregnancy rumors to fly prematurely.

 

“I put my body through like a whole kind of cleansing kind of situation and prepared,” she told Billy. “I had to be on progesterone. I did end up being on progesterone like every month to go through the cycles — especially after going through the operations and stuff.

 

“And then, you know, because it sort of helps seal the pregnancy, but it also bloats you, it also puts on weight,” she added. “So then everybody was like, ‘Oh the weight gain, she’s definitely pregnant!’ And I’m like, ‘Well, at some point I was.’”

 

As previously reported, Access Hollywood was first to break the news that Mariah and her husband, Nick Cannon, are expecting their first child in the spring.

 

Nick and Mariah chose to wait awhile for announcing their happy news, due to Mariah’s painful miscarriage.

 

“After you have been through an event that really is a tragic event in your life, and you go through it and you come out and you are like, ‘OK, we’re not giving up, we are happy, we’re positive, this is all OK, it’s going to be OK,’ but the point is, who do we really want to include in our circle of this private subject? No one, thank you!

 

“But you can only hold back for so long before you have to talk about it,” Mariah told Billy.

 

The charming couple has already chosen names for their future bundle of joy — although, for now, they’re keeping it to themselves.

 

“We’re not [revealing the names],” Nick told Billy. “But… we have names [picked out] from the first day that we met and I think we want to stay true to that.”

If you are famous you are selling yourself 24/7, no matter who you are. You are your own product and you must do what you need to sell your product. Each person has their own way of selling themselves as does businesses of selling their own product. Do I think Mariah's pregnancy announcement and album release some ~big coincidence~? No, & there is nothing wrong with that. It's just all about timing and putting things out there at good times.

& ultimately I find this little debate sort of ridiculous. Of course Celine wants to share things with her fans, but she would have had to let it fall in the schedule of everything else if there was something else to plan it with. Mariah would probably be sharing this happy moment with her fans with no premeditated idea of promo out of it if there was nothing to promote.

That's really very touching. What a beautiful with to say. And so true. I know exactly how Mariah feels. After I lost my little boy a few years back, Celine really played a part in giving me the strength to believe again...and now I have a little girl

When I heard Mariah was pregnant I somehow knew that she got some inspiration from Celine. They are, after all, about the same age and share the same hectic lifestyle. From what I heard in the interview though, Celine never directly told them anything...Nick Cannon read in article that Celine was using acupuncture and suggested it to Mariah. I think motherhood will transform Mariah just like it did for Celine...then there might be a small window of opportunity for a duet. Good luck to them.

I don't post too much on here and when I come to the forums I just lurk here to see what is up or what are people saying in regards to Celine.

 

Well first let me just say that I think it's awesome and can't hardly believe Mariah is pregnant! Congrats to her and Nick. She deserves it alot after going through so much. I am not a huge fan of hers like I used to be or if I ever was(because it was love/hate). Put it simple I like Mariah, and she is a great singer but I don't like certain things she does. Another thing she is not singing up to her potential ever since she left the genre of pop/r&b and went hiphop. But it's ok I'm not dead!

 

I am glad that Mariah is giving some credit to Celine for conceiving. However, if she holds jealousies, and issues towards her I hope that stops. Honestly you guys I never thought Mariah was a fan of Celine's very much although I am not saying she doesn't atleast respect her it's just some of the things I have heard. I am not starting a versus thing(cuz I am sick of them too!) either just saying. Maybe they are friends who knows. Celine has said so many kind words towards Mariah.

 

and yeah I would like to see a duet between the 2 of them.

I don't think so. To be honest I never heard Celine talking about Mariah Carey. However Celine said many kind words towards other artists such as Barbra Streisand and Whitney Houston.

Well maybe not kind words but she mentioned her like she thought it was cool to share the same stage as her at the grammy's(some yr in the 90's) and that Mariah was one of the singers liked. Celine isn't the type of singers to say something horrible about them in public. She is very classy so when I have heard Mariah Carey out of her mouth she has praised her.

 

And yes she she did say kind words about Whitney like she admires her.
