Brand new official site!

Just got mail from CelineDion.com...... the official site and TeamCéline are getting a brand new look on November 10

TeamCéline will also be FREE!

 

FINALLY..... Guess it will get much more social......bring it on!

I also got an e-mail and as happy I am about this new changes and stuff, I'm also a bit pissed because I just recently renewed my membership, so that was basically a waste of money. Why didn't they mention it earlier as I'm sure they have been working on it for a while now. How many people renewed their membership when the Vegas tickets went on sale (which was also a waste comsidering they didn't even give us 1c discount)?

 

Edit: I do wonder though if this is an indication for what is to come. Maybe a big comeback for Celine? I just hope they will start promoting her albums too...

Finally free TC, it's about time. I thought it was a total waste of money anyway. The only thing i liked was the monthly calender and the contests. I can't wait to be able to view the monthly calenders again cuz my membership expired two years ago. Now i can enter contests again!!

Forgot to comment on one thing: I just hope that this new version of the official site/Teamceline includes new and more interaction with fans It's one of the main things I'm missing from an official website like this, and if they are really caring and taking the chances now, I hope they will do it right.

 

They are talking of linking accounts with facebook, twitter etc, so they look to know what's going on today with new techonologies, but if they keep us in the dark again and there's no kind of interaction with fans in the new website, the effort will be useless

 

With all this I mean that its about time that they count on us in aspects like:

- Ask us what kind of styles we would like Céline to sing in her upcoming albums

 

- What singles we would like her to promote

 

- What songs we would like her to sing in her future concerts (Vegas or possible tours)

 

As long as they don't add these features and this kind of communication with us, it will be an outdated website for me.

 

Until today, for 30 years in her career, there has been an empty space between the official site and fans. There was no way of communicating with Céline and their team other than writing her personally. Just to tell them what we think of her music, singles, concert setlist etc. Now they have the chance to change that. If they really care about fans, this is what they have to add to the new website and prove that we have a say there

 

Wish they have asked us before!

Wow that is cool the site needs it, I know many will join. All usernames will be up for grabs though, I think existing members should be able to keep their current user names though. I don't think the current forums are too busy there. I'm a member and I hardly ever go there. They did say all existing TC members will get a $30 credit at the boutique and $50 in coupons for the boutigue, so that's nice. I just wonder if they will stop offering special seating to her shows - that would suck. They already stopped the discount, however small it was.

About time! TeamCeline was never worth the money (other than for tickets, and even then some people had little success getting good seats) and the regular site was sorely lacking on content. So many of us said FOR YEARS that they took what should have been free by rights and started charging for it, I'm glad they finally saw sense.

 

Although I do have to say that I would have been happy to pay for membership if what you got in return was worth it. It just never, ever was.

That's it. Communicating with fans in the end Until now, the only way Céline communicates with us is in the "thank you's" of her album booklets, and the few videos that TC uploaded from time to time in the website. But that's all.

 

Today, she could easily have a blog in her official website, regardsless of whether she writes it in front of the computer or someone else does it for her, that's not an obstacle.

 

So that's a great idea and something that would really convince us for this new official site.

 

And polls to ask us what I said in my previous post would also be greatly appreciated Until now, the only polls we had is to say from 1 to 10 which song is our favourite in each album, and random questions whether we are going to Vegas or not, or our favourite Céline movie song. But what's the use of this? So pointless. But we are always discussing about the right choices for singles, promotion, setlists and a long etc about her releases. Now they can fix that and ask US directly about that.

the only downside I see is that for existing TC members you have to make a purchase to get the coupons They should just refund.

Oh I am to afraid to even hope that we will actually be able to interact with the official sight in any meaningful way. They need to have some staff members who are actively present on the new forum and who can actually act on some of our concerns. Thats the best way to get a working and meaningful relationship between the fan and the powers that be.

 

I can't see the need to keep TeamCeline at all, for me it has to many negative conotations and I'd have liked a rebranding of that too. But I expect they think TeamCeline is a wonderful part of the site.

And come-on, who are they fooling with all of this new technology business, it's like they are saying that the only reason we had to pay for TeamCeline before was because that subscription was just there to cover the enormous cost of being able to stream videos and new pictures!

But thank God the site is being updated. Hope it's not just a big excuse to ram the new Vegas years down our throat.
