New Version Of "Beauty & The Beast" by Jordin Sparks

Before Beauty and the Beast is released on Blu-ray on Oct. 5, fans have two opportunities to see Disney’s most requested title on the big screen.

 

Select theaters nationwide will show the newly restored, high definition version of Beauty and The Beast at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 29 and noon Oct. 2 local time. Central Florida locations include AMC Pleasure Island 24 in Lake Buena Vista, AMC Altamonte Mall 18 in Altamonte Springs, Merritt Square 16 in Merritt Island, and Cobb Grand 10 Cinemas in Winter Haven. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, Aug. 27, on Fathomevents.com. AMC Pleasure Island 24 is reserving tickets now. They are $10 for all ages.

Audiences will be invited to sing along to classic songs: “Be Our Guest,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Belle” and “Gaston.” The presentation also will include segments with Jordin Sparks sharing a look behind the scenes of the movie and her Beauty and the Beast music video, commentary from producer Dohn Hahn and interviews with the cast.

I usually don't care when people cover a Celine song and change it, it's sometimes cool to hear a new arrangement. But that is just BLAH!

 

I think the reason B&TB is still a great song is that it's simple and classic and kinda like the story, it's a tale as old as time. It will last forever and still be special. That version is trying to hard to be current, and it spoils the song as a result. Nearly 20 years on, Celine and Paebo's version is still going strong but this version will sound outdated by next week.

No one should ever redo a Celine song, or a Disney song. That song is one of my favorites, from Celine. Disney, you have taken a classic song full of sentiment and turned into a piece of S$$t. I hate you Disney.

I've noticed that with Disney over the years...all these little pop songs with young singers, mostly Disney stars....it wasn't like that when I was little and watching Disney. It seems less magical....

God what a complete load of old pants! Wasn't it bad enough they stuck that awful version from jump5 (whoever the hell they were supposed to be) on the DVD special edition. Now they give us this. Really!

 

Whats next? Justin Beiber singing Over The Rainbow on The Wizard Of Oz' next re-release. Thankfully Warners has more taste.

Jordin Sparks is an okay singer, but seriously??? Stop with the Disney covers and leave the original and WWAAYYY better versions ALONE. I was watching Disney Channel with my little sister (I didn't want to watch it but I had to take care of my lil sis) and I just heard that song being played by Jordin. And I was like WTF?! My little sister, who is 6, was like, "Isn't that the song Celine Dion sings??" I told her it was, and she said, "..coz Celine's version is WAY better. That one doesn't sound good." I loved my little sister that day

I can't believe all the disdain I'm reading. For a pop plucky remake of an old classic, I think Jordin really did a great job with this. You can't blame the girl. Disney is obviously looking to sell more dvd copies and reintroduce this movie to a new generation of youngsters who can hop onto itunes and purchase Jordin's version. I don't know how many 6-10 year olds even know who Celine is to buy her version. It's all about the profit at the end of the day. They could care less what the song sounds like as much as how many new fans they can reel in who will dish out the money and invest in this re-release. I think Jordin must have known when she was recording this song that she certainly had big shoes to fill. She also wasn't probably too excited about the fast techno beat in the background, but this is the direction they wanted her to go in and this is the type of rhythm that sells today. We should be honored. Look at how many songs Celine has covered through the years. Most of her hits are covers!

Jordan sparks is an amazing singer, but this song is a Celine classic that should never be touched by another artist. I agree with Lindsey. Disney used to be way more magical feeling. There songs just arn't the same anymore. Maybe they could have Celine do another Disney song and she could bring the magic back to life, like how she did when Disney was going down hill in the early ninties!!

 

I don't know if anyone know's this story, but back then there hadn't been a Disney hit song in over 30 years or something and Celine's duet with Beabo Changed the history of Disney forever!! If it wasn't for Celine there might not be Disney today. I heard that story on a countdown of Celine movie songs once.

Oh, you guys. Jordin is a fantastic singer and did a great job. Kids love her and she stands for a great message too. So I think Disney should be supporting people like Jordin rather than some of those other disney kids. I mean I can understand the angst over it not being Celine, but I didn't expect any less than them having one of the more young stars re-do it. I'm just glad they made a good choice of artist.

 

And hey, Jordin is even a big fan of Celine! She thanked Celine in the album notes of her debut CD.
