English verison of L'amour existe encore?

I'm sorry if this question has already been posted but I read on wikipedia that Celine recorded an english version of L'amour existe encore for ANDHC but it didn't sound right. Does anyone know if this is true and if it is has anyone ever heard it? It's such a beautiful song, with so much emotion. I don't speak a word of French so I have no idea what the hell she's singing about but it breaks my heart. The live performance in memory of 9/11 is stunning. I'd love to hear it in english. Either way, it transcends language.

She did recorded an spanish version called AUN EXISTE AMOR.... I bet that's the version you are talking about.

I think alot of those love songs sound better in French or Spanish, since those are two very romantic languages, unlike English!

I would love to hear the English version, but in a way I'm glad it hasn't been released. L'amour Existe Encore is such a powerful song and the message is portrayed so beautifully in French. I don't think the English version could be anywhere near as good.

Well I wouldn't say I'm glad it hasn't been released, if it's Celine then I would love to have it! But I do agree that an English version wouldn't come any way near the power and emotion portrayed in the original French version. There's something about her French songs that make them truly beautiful and passionate - I find that English songs don't have the same emotion, they are more focused on high notes etc.

 

Look at Celine's biggest English hits, all of them have high notes. But when you look at her big French songs (PQTME, SSD, Ziggy, LAEE, JIOTI, Destin), only one or two contain high notes, yet they are so much more beautiful than her English songs...

Exactly, Céline's music is not always just the "high notes" and all that I believe that many of her most beautiful songs include very few high notes

Well I am somewhat glad they didn't release it if they found that the lyric translation sucked.

 

I suggest we help them and make up our own lyrics to this song! Try not to direct translate, that is booring.

With this song, the spanish version of HYEBIL and all the other songs they said they recorded for ANDHC, they could release a second disc of songs for this album sure (including maybe the songs of One Heart)

Personally I don't care if she has 2 boys, 2 girls or one of each, as long as they're healthy. But can't understand that exaggerated curiosity with that and not wanting to know how that song would sound in english for example

 

The babies are something that I will never know (probably any of us), but we can get to know that song someday and enjoy it for the rest of our lifes (hopefully!)
