Taking Chances World Tour DVD Pre-Release Thread Part 2 Final

It's a shame we won't be getting 2 individual concerts, but on the plus side we'll get better camera angles and vocals as it's from all 4 nights instead of just 2 from each city. Also, this means that Celine only had to re-record each song ONCE for the DVDs, not twice for some songs.

 

I think it's still individual due the french songs.

But for now I dont want to believe that the english songs would be the same on both dvd's.

I cannot imagine that then i'll be watching identical english songs on both shows. I don't want to believe that they would be THAT stupid.

 

Ah well in just 2 weeks we will know for sure, but till then I'm hoping for the best

lol i think we never gonna know for sure what they did with the audio parts.

the only thing i just hope is that we due the fact TPOL is from both cities, that the Boston dvd is mainly boston, and Montreal only Montreal, but we'll just wait and see all these speculations haha

I agree with Timster! I think he understood very well what I wanted to explain! When they release something different for each Country this is never 100% different! Only some few stuffs are different! If so, they would have released both in the same countries! Tpol, abm and now ia! Sorry but There is no doubt now! Only some parts are different all the show is the same (except some songs, the speech, the title)

and that explains why they didn't write live in Boston/Montreal but only taking chances world tour (more general!)

we've heard 2 diff ABM highnotes, I THINK 2 diff MHWGO right? From the dvd and the teasers? Maybe thats the same, idk. But since there are 2 diff ABM highnotes, one could conclude that they'd do one for each dvd. Normal tour highnote and rerecorded highnote.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to realise the version of TPOL used in Vegas and on the TC tour was shorter than LTAL tour, FIY tour, TCOML tour etc. They cut out the "even though there may be times it's seems I'm far away..." part. I knew it seemed different but I had to compare a few versions just now to hear it!

 

It's a shame actually because I really love that part. lol

 

Darnit, I thought I had a feeling this one was shorter (the new version that is, never reflected on the Vegas version, dho).

 

Well I wanna go one step further and say that my favourite pat is "Lost is how I'm feeling lying in your arms, when the world outside's too much to take, that all ends when I'm with you" but that has rarely been performed live.

Haha nej! WTF mannen, den där bör ju vara den officiella, som suger BTW. Din är faktiskt galet perfekt, sann energi och visar känslan elgant, smakfullt men samtidigt vibrerande och frächt. Fan för kort tid kvar, annar skulle vi ha pushat ordentligt för att de skulle bytt till din version!

 

Don't we all think they should have had the cover in Andreas signature as cover for the DVD/CD. It is incredible, he's captured the concept of it all so well! Why is it that the official version, done by professionals, are so below the league of what amateurs have put together here, why do they settle with that quality? It's beyond my understanding.

 

 

 

And people why are we overreacting about the assumed mixture from the two locations in the clips we've seen. These are promotional clips. See them as music videos if you like. They have probably mixed together the best from both locations in these to maximize the experience in the length of these songs to make a good impression.

 

I would not worry that the DVDs will have mixed location during a song. It could work with mixed footage version, if they had gone with the concept of "best of the TC tour" which I suggested earlier on, but even then it would had been only rational to still stay within one location per song. However, don't worry, like I said these clips we got are put together for promo.

I agree and i also dont care for such a things and by the way,why is so hard to understand that poor woman cant sing all the songs alive every night,so its quite normal this to happen,to have been re-recorded and so on..

 

Only the lipsynched tracks were rerecorded! For the movie (except tlym and abm) and for the tcwt/tmtc DVD-CD

The original playback ABM note won't be on the concert DVDs. The whole point of re-recording the playback parts is so that the vocals flow more naturally and everything sounds live. If ABM will be different between the 2 DVDs, then Celine would have re-recorded the note twice. They wouldn't use the playback for one DVD, and a new recording for the other, it would sound too different.

 

I think the reason why they just used the playback for the movie to show the time she was sick was because it would have been pointless to make her record a bad-sounding high note. Also, the video from Phoenix was already shown on Star Academie last year, and they just showed the normal high note with with no echo/effects, just the raw vocals, to give the impression she was singing live when she was ill.

 

As for MHWGO, I don't think we've heard 2 different versions. The one from the French trailer is the same as the one in the movie.

 

It will just be a matter of time until we find out exactly what they've done with the video, but I think it makes sense to merge the Boston/Montreal footage, as otherwise we would be constantly comparing the vocals/footage between the 2 versions, and finding that some songs sound better on the English DVD and others sound better on the French, meaning we'd never be fully happy watching each DVD because we know there are better performances available. At least now we'll get the best vocals and footage out of the 4 nights they filmed put into one DVD for these songs that we performed at both cities.

 

Also, we know that TPOL is mixed, so this means that EOM is probably mixed too. So these 2 songs that have been cut from the French DVD will still have the Montreal footage included on the English DVD version, so we won't be missing out on anything if we buy both DVDs! However IYA has been lost completely...

Maybe someone should Email them and ask them the question! But i al completely sure that the english and pqtme performance which appears and both concert are the same on both DVD! They never make 2 100% different release! The release are always the same with a french title, an english title and different footages following thé Country but never 100% different! If it's not true why didn't they write "live a Boston" and "live a Montreal" because everything is mixed! So they choose to only write "tc world tour/tournée mondiale tc"!

Do you think that Céline has enough Time to rerecord alone twice, taking chances twice, all by myself twice, my heart Will go on twice (+the movie)

Like some mentioned, this is an English topic so we should really write in English But now it says that both things will come out un May 5 in Sweden, both on cdon.com and on some CD store's websites, like Skivlagret and Rocks etc. It's a shame that we'll only have CTTEOTW and TCWT though Gonna get all versions, I'm a collector you know....

yes i Found that weird from them to have two different DVD but now i think that there are the same except that the french DVD has the french songs! i think it's more logical! She doesn't have enough Time to record 3 version of mhwgo for exemple so she only recorded 2 versions: tteotw/tcwt(french and english version) it's a shame!!!

 

I don't think she re-recorded separate versions for TTEOTW and TCWT. All the songs featured in the movie are just the concert DVD footage, so there will be only the 1 MHWGO recording, and this will be used in the TTEOTW as well as the English/French TCWT DVDs.

 

 

 

So the songs that will be different between the 2 DVDs will be:

English version:

-The Power of Love

-It's All Coming Back To Me Now

-Because You Loved Me

-To Love You More

-Eyes on Me

-Shadow of Love

-Fade Away

-The Prayer

I personally think a lot of you are jumping the gun on this one.....we can't say for certain whether the DVD will have mixed footage or not. Even if the footage is mixed, we can't say for certain if the vocals will be too.

 

And I personally think there is a bigger chance of playback ABM on one DVD and dubbed ABM on the other one rather than both being dubbed. That makes them the same.... the whole point in dubbing it in the first place is to make there be a difference between the other DVD and performances.....NOT to make it a smooth transition or whatever.....that transition thing is only for TPOL because it's 17 years old....

 

The only reason why there could POSSIBLY be a dubbed ABM on both is because included in the deluxe edition, is the movie, which has the regular. So the whole point in dubbing both would be to differentiate between the movie and the concert.

 

But if that is the case, it doesn't mean that TC (for example) will not be dubbed on both DVDs. It's not included in the movie (possibly in the 3 hour)...so they would just do playback in one and dubbed in the other.
