I don't understand that much of the lyrics on her french albums but there is just something magical about her voice and the passion when she sings in french.

 

And the melody she chooses when making a french album is amazing.

We knew they wanted to record both albums, and yes, I'm sure there's another english one coming There's no question they are going to release a new french album and not an english one before her return to Vegas, so this news confirms that we will have 2 albums!

the only french album of hers I've even been able to find was On ne change pas, the only ones I ever see in the stores here are the english albums. I had someone give me Deux as a present once in high school.

I will still try to buy the CD even though 98 percent of the time I dont know anything that's being said lol, I do love listening to the songs though. They just sound so pretty. Hopefully I'll be able to find it here and buy it

I agree, when I've had a long day I like listening to her French stuff because I can just focus on the beauty of her voice.

 

I'm learning French, but I'm probably not making as much progress as I could. I'm also worried about the magic being gone. Though, what I have noticed is the French songs I know very well, sometimes I forget it's in a different language (since I know the meaning and words). They're still magical, but in a different way.

We need another D'eux tour! Go back to the days when she would sing 10 out of the 12 songs from the album live on stage! If we want this to happen we need JJG to give Celine his best once again!

I feel the same way about her French songs. If I'm not feeling well, or want to relax, I always play Celine's French albums. Sometimes it's nice to just admire the beauty of her songs rather than the words.

Her French lyrics are much more profound. I started taking French during Céline's hiatus back in 1999. I loved learning the language so much that my major at university was French. I owe that to Céline, just because I wanted to understand her work.

 

It's more than a pretty voice with pretty music, the words are powerful. If you listen to hear 1980's songs you FEEL the love she had for René. It's all there in the lyrics. "Lolita" is so telling, so it "Comment t'aimer", "Délivre-moi", and beaucoup d'autres. It's worth understanding.

Have you noticed we have the same "backgrounds" by the way? Originally I think Céline's French songs were the reason I wanted to learn French so bad and later I fell so in love with the language that I too majored it at university! (Still studying actually.) So I owe my huge passion for French to Céline too haha.
