browseceline Posted March 7, 2010 at 10:38 PM Posted March 7, 2010 at 10:38 PM (edited) I think LTAL is an amazing album. It doesn't have as many 'hit' songs as FIY is filled with, and there are probably too many different styles in it, but it's certainly one of my favourites. I too had no idea it was made quickly to go with MHWGO - it can't of been that rushed with all those duets they arranged though... That album is very boring. I never listen to it. I wonder how it sold that much? For me, her best album is A New Day! You mean the Live in Las Vegas CD? That was the worst release in her entire career! I soooo agree with you! Celine sounds soo nasal on all tracks. The only songs that were worth were the new tracks - you and I and the song that could have helped Celine getting to the top again - Ain't gonna look the other way. Instead they released only You and I.. You and I were meant to fly - yes it rhimes perfectly..but is just bad bad lyrics to me, although the sound of the song is nice btw - I didn't know I hate you then I love you was a cover ..that's why I thought so.. well I still don't like it, cover or not! je t'aime Posted March 8, 2010 at 03:02 AM Posted March 8, 2010 at 03:02 AM It's not boring to me at all, as a matter of fact, it's my favorite Celine album. I have a particular attachment to the song Treat Her Like A Lady. Quote http://www.tedmills.com/images/celinemonkeyass.jpg
Black Kitten Posted March 8, 2010 at 08:03 AM Posted March 8, 2010 at 08:03 AM (edited) while i think it's a good album all in all, the sound quality of the cd kinda ruined it. in fact, this is her only heavy bass and less treble album. play this album and FIY back-to-back and you'll realize how poor the sound quality really is. LTAL is definitely my favourite album!!! I love how she sings the songs, with much more emotion than in FIY. And it is her best selling album, with 31,000,000 copies sold in the world! hold on. isn't Falling into You her best-selling album worldwide with 32M copies sold? and in fact, it's the 2nd best selling album by a female artist ever, only behind Shania Twain's Come on Over with 36M? maceta_biloxi Posted March 8, 2010 at 01:24 PM Posted March 8, 2010 at 01:24 PM This is one of my favorite albums, although I always skip MHWGO... LOL All the songs are amazing, starting with the power of The Reason and going to a few excellent covers like Love Is On The Way, and end up with LTAL which I love... great album for me. Guest Reuben Posted March 8, 2010 at 02:02 PM Posted March 8, 2010 at 02:02 PM (edited) Because it's very same-y and her most ballad centric album. Much too adult contemporary. I agree. I dont think its a bad album though, just that many songs are very similar when bunched together. LTAL is not like Falling into you where there were quiet songs, bombastic songs, fast songs, slow songs, happy songs, sadish songs. Instead of a focus on romantic love like FIY had LTAL has a focus on brotherly love and much more of an AC sound. Also I disagree with the statement that it was put together quickly for MHWGO, recordings took place over several months in London, NY, and LA, I dont think producers expected MHWGO to be as big as it was, remember Tell Him was heavily promoted at first, there were three singles released from the album before MHWGO (Tell him, be the man, the reason). Celininha17 Posted March 9, 2010 at 12:56 AM Posted March 9, 2010 at 12:56 AM I love LTAL album. Never found anything wrong with it. I do like when she does the high notes/long notes. I strongly agree!!! Quote http://i50.tinypic.com/10ifgwj.jpgLAS VEGAS, March 19th & 20th, 2011
ajguerras Posted March 9, 2010 at 02:52 AM Posted March 9, 2010 at 02:52 AM LTAL is a masterpice.... A more calmed and elegant Celine than ever before, more Diva, more in control...Slow ??? maybe , but is not borin, that´s style and charm... Jewels Like the reason , Immortality, Love is on the way, When I need you, Miles to Go, Us, MHWGO, Ihytily , TLYM and LTAL represent perfectly this new concept as an established singer... Quote I need someone to loves m like Celine loved René... And just like she sang in LTAL track # 16, I ask for that exact same thingwww.twitter.com/ajguerras
Esty Posted March 9, 2010 at 06:55 AM Posted March 9, 2010 at 06:55 AM IMHO LTAL is a mature, stylish and elegant album. There are 2-3 songs that I don't like, the others are all gems. The Reason is special because of the collaboration with Carole King and Sir George Martin (and it has bombastic vocals), Immortality should be mentioned because of the Bee Gees, Miles To Go is a charming song with great lyrics, Where Is The Love has a great message, just like LTAL, Love Is On The Way has a haunting atmosphere, Tell Him isn't just great because Celine has finally sang together with her idol, but the overall idea of the song: an older woman giving advice in love to a younger one. MHWGO is a good song as well, it's another issue that it was overplayed... The songs sound similar only at the first listen. But it will grow on you after multilpe listens and you will surely differentiate the songs. The general topic is love of course, but all aspects of love, happy love, nostalgic love, disappointed love, love towards humanity in general, nostalgic love, etc. However, I'm sorry Is Nothing Sacred didn't make the cut. It would fit very well on the album. Quote
