Jacqui Posted March 7, 2010 at 06:54 AM Posted March 7, 2010 at 06:54 AM I haven't seen it either, and I don't want to. I really really hate alien/ science fiction movies, and it seems all a bit too political for me.It seems to be the kind of movie people either love and watch over and over, or hate and think the story is crap. I've heard the Pocahontas comparison several times, and that was the one Disney movie I didn't like as a kid, so I think I won't bother. Sort of surprises me that Celine would like something like that, too.. Quote
angelil78 Posted March 7, 2010 at 09:19 PM Posted March 7, 2010 at 09:19 PM I think that because RC is gettingi older a lot of things have changed in her life like going to the movies, sport games and so on. But I do remember that in her first Florida house they had their own movie theater in the house so I bet they get their own screening at home Quote

Yes I am "real." What I mean is that it's classified as science fiction, right? When Celine's talked about what movies she likes before it's usually been more toward the drama and romance genres. Not alien movies. Quote
browseceline Posted March 8, 2010 at 01:11 PM Posted March 8, 2010 at 01:11 PM well, I have seen Avatar one time now, in 3d. It was a great movie and the visuals were spectacular; I have never seen white thingies floating in the cinema, even floating a few rows in front of me. But the 3d and great visuals aside. It has a great story - a story about a tribe close to nature , so close that you think, it should be that way. There is no anger or sorrow in this world and man and animals live close to each other and are connected. It made me also think about some tribes who live deep in the forest and the western civilisation who is ruining their habitats, taking down their trees... similar to Michael jacksons earth song. Because that is what stayed in my mind the most after seeing this movie; people should care for each other, respect each other, no war and have peace, no matter what race or religion. And it is also a statement towards the greedy western civilisation that has , as Celine says, only the gold in their eyes..but there is so much more than that! maceta_biloxi Posted March 8, 2010 at 01:27 PM Posted March 8, 2010 at 01:27 PM I like the message of the movie but the movie itself I didn't like (too much of everything), I'm glad it didn't win the Oscar for Best Movie. I know there are a lot of people who love this movie, so this is just my personal opinion.
