I haven't done this personally, but I believe the ones who have done so were upgrading within the same price range (just closer seats, like you said). I know that this process isn't technically an option - the box office staff isn't supposed to do this, but some have been lucky. I actually picked up my tickets one day (I had FORCH 4, row CC), but the lady at the box office said "It looks like you've been upgraded to row AA." Whaaaa???!! You can only choose your seats for shows in March and April. I think they may have released some of those expensive package seats too. I just got a couple in row EE for the $250 price. Quote
