I'd love to hear Celine sing "Je suis malade" that's both a demanding and a beautiful song not necessary to cover a song, but to hear her sing them

You have to be careful with covers. She has had some amazing ones. The Power of Love, and All By Myself are now really thought of as HER songs, they are that good. But you can go too far. Alone from the new album was not a good idea, as it sounds like Kareoke. And The Show Must Go On is dreadful. A really personal song about a man who knows he is dying. Yet must still perform for the crowds. An amazing song, sang by an amazing man, Freddie Mercury, who died from AIDs shortly after. Celine's voice is obviously magnificent, but Celine, this song has no relevance to you. It's about a man dying. I think that's one of those you stay clear from. It's got a story, and the story isn't Celine's.

 

When You Tell Me That You Love Me by Diana Ross might be a good one though.

Alone from the new album was not a good idea, as it sounds like Kareoke.

 

I disagree. I don't think it sounds like karaoke at all. It's a completely different version than the original one. The arraingment really doesn't have any similarities. At Last sounded more like karaoke because her version was so similar to the original. I think Alone is the best song on the album.

 

BTW, if I had to pick a song for her to cover...it would be "One Moment In Time".

The Edge of dream originally sang by Helen Hoffner song was written by Bryan Adams. One song that came to my mind she could

sing is Unexpected lovers sang La bouche and some band in the 80's. Song could be slow ballad or hot dance version.

I would DIE if Celine covers the Boyzone song "No Matter What" with somebody like Josh Groban. It's a plaintive piece of music with poignant lyrics by Andrew Lloyd Webber and I think Jim Steinman.

if celine did more covers she would be accused of not being original enough as it is she got slated for taking chances and i bet very few people even knew that it was a cover ....but still she was attacked!

she needs better original songs ...simple as that ...better songwriters/producers the best she can get ... her voice is quality ...but sadly the material she is being given is not worthy of her ....its good stuff but not great i want great stuff i want jaw dropping stuff i keep playing and playing and playing....i want to be excited aurally ..... dont we all want that????

After IDAN came out, I purchased Roy Orbison's Greatest Hits album because he had previously recorded IDAN as had Cyndi Lauper [i purchased her best of album, too. LOL] I remember "You Got It" from when I was younger, but after re-listening to it, I immediately thought that Celine could cover it and bring something bombastic to it.

It's difficult to say what song Celine should cover. In my opinion Celine has a lot of covers, maybe she should sing "Form This Moment" with Shania Twain, "Total Eclipse Of MyHeart" with Bonnie Tyler, "Un Break My Heart" with Toni Braxton or "I Walking In Memphis" with Cher. I very like duets
