celinecolombian Posted March 10, 2008 at 10:44 PM Posted March 10, 2008 at 10:44 PM No more covers please! Celine is so good to keep doing that, besides she has covered enough. We need new and original songs... Quote
ajguerras Posted March 11, 2008 at 12:32 AM Posted March 11, 2008 at 12:32 AM NEVER ever a cover again.. thanx Quote I need someone to loves m like Celine loved René... And just like she sang in LTAL track # 16, I ask for that exact same thingwww.twitter.com/ajguerras
asiii m Posted March 13, 2008 at 10:07 AM Posted March 13, 2008 at 10:07 AM I'd love to hear Celine sing "Je suis malade" that's both a demanding and a beautiful song not necessary to cover a song, but to hear her sing them Quote Some people have everything - they have nothing.May 21st, 2008 - Paris, Bercy & November 22nd, 2013 - Antwerpen, Sportpaleis
billythebrit Posted March 13, 2008 at 02:36 PM Posted March 13, 2008 at 02:36 PM You have to be careful with covers. She has had some amazing ones. The Power of Love, and All By Myself are now really thought of as HER songs, they are that good. But you can go too far. Alone from the new album was not a good idea, as it sounds like Kareoke. And The Show Must Go On is dreadful. A really personal song about a man who knows he is dying. Yet must still perform for the crowds. An amazing song, sang by an amazing man, Freddie Mercury, who died from AIDs shortly after. Celine's voice is obviously magnificent, but Celine, this song has no relevance to you. It's about a man dying. I think that's one of those you stay clear from. It's got a story, and the story isn't Celine's. When You Tell Me That You Love Me by Diana Ross might be a good one though. Jeffieboi Posted March 16, 2008 at 01:39 PM Posted March 16, 2008 at 01:39 PM Alone from the new album was not a good idea, as it sounds like Kareoke. I disagree. I don't think it sounds like karaoke at all. It's a completely different version than the original one. The arraingment really doesn't have any similarities. At Last sounded more like karaoke because her version was so similar to the original. I think Alone is the best song on the album. BTW, if I had to pick a song for her to cover...it would be "One Moment In Time". Quote
Amoureye Posted March 16, 2008 at 02:09 PM Posted March 16, 2008 at 02:09 PM So dream on Plus Queen songs like Who wants to live forever, Show must go on, Theseare the days of our lives. So glad Celine has made of my request come true by singing The show must go on. I wish she would doThe Edge of dream originally sang by Helen Hoffner song was written by Bryan Adams. One song that came to my mind she couldsing is Unexpected lovers sang La bouche and some band in the 80's. Song could be slow ballad or hot dance version. Here's some lyrics of the song Unexpected lovers. Chorus:We were unexpected lovers Not just ordinary loversSharing unexpected loveNights' true love, true love Verse1:How can there be no loveNo feelings of passion toThe way we were dancing loveHow could it be untrueWe danced the night togetherUntil the morning lightBaby do you rememberThe music was in our eyes Quote
emi&celine Posted March 16, 2008 at 04:25 PM Posted March 16, 2008 at 04:25 PM What about a duet with Shania on a Shania's famous song, like From This Moment On, You're Still The One or Rock This Party (Celine would have fun on the latter)? Quote
GoldenLeaf Posted March 16, 2008 at 04:34 PM Posted March 16, 2008 at 04:34 PM Celine should record some Bonnie Tyler songs such The Best, Making Love Out Of Nothing At All, Total Eclipse of the Heart and It's a Heartache. Celine should even record a duet with her! Quote
J2ThaOE91784 Posted March 16, 2008 at 05:11 PM Posted March 16, 2008 at 05:11 PM I could die a happy man if Celine would cover "Lost Without You" By Delta Goodrem Quote
brianthony Posted March 17, 2008 at 05:27 AM Posted March 17, 2008 at 05:27 AM for me she should cover: Making love out of nothing at all (air supply)I'd Do Anything For Love (Meatloaf) Quote
disadiva Posted March 17, 2008 at 09:07 AM Posted March 17, 2008 at 09:07 AM Here Is My List: Whitney Houston/ All The Man That I Need-I Will Always Love You.Celine did cover 2 Whitney songs back in 1986 Saving All My Love for you and greatest Love of all..She sounded very much alike. Barbra Streisand/Woman In Love/All I Ask Of You. Aretha Franklin/Respect,Zoomin Who, Pink Cadilack. Madonna Like A prayer, You´ll See,Cherish...and more lol. Quote http://i46.tinypic.com/2nvtcpl.jpg
Prince Whiskers Posted March 22, 2008 at 12:13 PM Posted March 22, 2008 at 12:13 PM I would DIE if Celine covers the Boyzone song "No Matter What" with somebody like Josh Groban. It's a plaintive piece of music with poignant lyrics by Andrew Lloyd Webber and I think Jim Steinman. "And I will keep you safe and strong/ Sheltered from a storm/ No matter where it's barren/ A dream is being born." "No matter if the sun don't shine/ Or if the skies are blue/ No matter what the ending/ My life began with you." Those lines have killed me again and again. CelineAndRene Posted March 24, 2008 at 03:58 PM Posted March 24, 2008 at 03:58 PM Celine has covered many other artist's songs. Which other songs do you think Celine should record? My list: Without YouA Whole New World (I think Celine's voice would suit it more)There You'll BeRight Here Waiting If u mean "TYB" by Faith Hill, then yes, i agree, She should SO redo it! LuisMa Posted March 24, 2008 at 05:22 PM Posted March 24, 2008 at 05:22 PM I definitely think she should cover Exposé's Top 10 smash "I'll Never Get Over You (Getting Over Me)," which was written by Diane Warren. Quote
bfhb Posted March 27, 2008 at 05:51 PM Posted March 27, 2008 at 05:51 PM oh my god expose!!!! i use to really like them!! lol if celine did more covers she would be accused of not being original enough as it is she got slated for taking chances and i bet very few people even knew that it was a cover ....but still she was attacked!she needs better original songs ...simple as that ...better songwriters/producers the best she can get ... her voice is quality ...but sadly the material she is being given is not worthy of her ....its good stuff but not great i want great stuff i want jaw dropping stuff i keep playing and playing and playing....i want to be excited aurally ..... dont we all want that???? CelineFanInSoCal Posted March 28, 2008 at 08:47 PM Posted March 28, 2008 at 08:47 PM I think "You Got It", previously recorded by Roy Orbison. After IDAN came out, I purchased Roy Orbison's Greatest Hits album because he had previously recorded IDAN as had Cyndi Lauper [i purchased her best of album, too. LOL] I remember "You Got It" from when I was younger, but after re-listening to it, I immediately thought that Celine could cover it and bring something bombastic to it. breathless_euphoria Posted March 30, 2008 at 02:56 AM Posted March 30, 2008 at 02:56 AM It's difficult to say what song Celine should cover. In my opinion Celine has a lot of covers, maybe she should sing "Form This Moment" with Shania Twain, "Total Eclipse Of MyHeart" with Bonnie Tyler, "Un Break My Heart" with Toni Braxton or "I Walking In Memphis" with Cher. I very like duets does everyone realise that shania twain wrote from this moment on to be a duet between celine dion and elton john?but then mutt lange convinced shania to do it herself, even though she was reluctant as she doesn't have a powerhouse voice like celine...true story!x Quote if you don't want my peaches, don't shake my tree
Xpresso Posted March 31, 2008 at 01:09 AM Posted March 31, 2008 at 01:09 AM I think Celine has covered enough songs already. NO MORE! Just original material will do because you know... Sony will focus on that cover and release it!! Just like they are doing with ALONE... Quote
