of course I already thought this to happen. They need someone like Ariana who is currently popular. And she can really sing too.

Would have been much more interesting if they let Celine do a rerecording of the song, Ah well, we will Always have Celine's version and most people know that version.

The newer generation that don't know Celine so much will grow up with Ariana's version. Let's see if that version gets just as popular

 

I think the Céline's original version will come up to the "young generation" shortly after the Ariana version. The media will compare both songs, ask which one we like the most, Céline will be asked by someone from TMZ about it... hahahaha I hope Aldo and her team do something clever to link her to this new release.

I'm glad Celine won't be involved in the new version. She'll be remembered as the "original and best." I highly doubt anyone will be looking back fondly on the new version in 25 years time.

Ok so didn't know where to post this...but it seems that the new version of Beauty & The Beast is going to feature Ariana "licking donut" Grande and John Legend.

 

The music video, which is directed by Dave Meyers will be released in the coming weeks and the soundtrack (March 10th) will feature Menken’s score music and three brand new songs by Menken and Tim Rice....... I'm going to miss Celine

 

I can think of a lot of adjectives to describe Ariana Grande, and none of them are very nice so I'll just say "no thanks" to this new version. It doesn't matter to me if it's a great song or not, I can't stand her obnoxious attitude. I'm sure Céline will say something nice because that's what she always does, but I'd love to know what she REALLY thinks about some of these younger performers who go out of their way to be straight up "yuck"!

It all has to do with money...who is popular now, from which singer people will buy the record, who is the target audience? That is when Rihanna, beyonce, lady gaga and Ariana come in the picture..business is business

Amen! That shows how contradictory her fans are. Don't be surprised when she does the same old tour this or next year and record the same old album again

 

I for one don't have absolutely any problem with Ariadna or whoever recording the new version of this song. So you think Céline deserves to be chosen to rerecord again this song. And I ask, what for? Would she be doing any better than in the 1991 recording? Would she surpass that recording? You know the answer. So what for? Let the song be where it is, and the people who enjoys music will decide which version stands the test of time.

 

Celine doesn't need to be here again, really. She wasn't in the 2012 rerelease of the Titanic movie and soundtrack (she didn't even attended the movie premiere in London) and that was far more bigger and important than Beauty and the Beast. So? I'd rather enjoy Céline attending the movie premiere, or doing a special performance of the song, than recording it again and openind the door to horrible comparisons between both versions. Just my opinion of course.
