Teodora Posted July 31, 2009 at 09:52 AM Posted July 31, 2009 at 09:52 AM Electro pop would go great in Europe. The number one single right now in Europe is that genre. However, I don't really like that style, but I'm sure that Celine would make it the best ever electro pop... I doubt however she's go down road... She's more rock. Quote
Celine Fan 77 Posted July 31, 2009 at 09:58 AM Posted July 31, 2009 at 09:58 AM Celine should record 2 or maybe 3 songs of that type and the rest of the album should be formed by songs from her original style. Guest Reuben Posted July 31, 2009 at 01:32 PM Posted July 31, 2009 at 01:32 PM Celine has already done some electro songs. Second half of Skies of LA has an electro feel to it, even though its not very upbeat. Quote
Davey84 Posted July 31, 2009 at 01:41 PM Posted July 31, 2009 at 01:41 PM I think Célines reportoire screams for a song with a really good beat like Kelly Rowland with David Guette (When Love takes over) or like Delirium ft Sarah Mclachlan (Silence) she doesn't have to make a whole album like that, but a collaboration with a DJ would be awesome!!! SensationalCeline Posted July 31, 2009 at 02:07 PM Posted July 31, 2009 at 02:07 PM I really would love any new album from Celine. I would prefer for it not to be all "altered" or whatever it is they do with electro-pop. I think if they mixed it up with electro-pop and some jazz that would be amazing. She could really do a lot with this. Either way, I would just love to hear something new from her soon regardless or whether this is true or not. tonybower Posted July 31, 2009 at 05:11 PM Posted July 31, 2009 at 05:11 PM (edited) I loved Sorry For Love and the first time I heard it I thought Eurovision or classic disco tune!I agree that Céline could and should do a good disco number... Shirley Bassey has done a few (History Repeating) and it did her career no harm at all. So, something in that vain would be welcomed but it would have to be an excellent track. The thought of people dancing to Céline in clubs is enough to make me happy! As for Electro pop, I don't know. I like The Saturdays, Lady Gaga etc but in small doses and I don't think that music has a long shelf-life. If the aim is to secure Celine a new fanbase then I think the best they should hope for is one sell-out track. I don't think they can achieve it with an album without sacrificing quality. Plus, the song would have to be in keeping with Céline's age and image. Cher got away with it successfully but it could equally have been a disaster. We don't want people to laugh at her. Misled and Treat Her Like A Lady were not well received in the UK and Céline's attempts at upbeat have always been scoughed at, even though I like them! I think if they can create a high quality, modern track then people might sit up and listen again. And Céline has the voice to pull it off. She just needs to work with the right people. Personally I would be happy with a mellow, understated album with jazz and folk-like songs. Anything that allows Céline's voice to shine without being formulaic. In reply to the bolded section: I believe people have scoughed or laughed at Celine's attempts at doing uptempo songs is because Sony, Rene, Celine herself, or whomever chooses the singles has made bad decisions in doing so. Instead of "Treat Her Like A Lady" the perfect uptempo single choice from Let's Talk About Love would have been "Just A Little Bit Of Love." It had the perfect blend of grooves, funk, and spunk to get people up and dancing. "Treat Her Like A Lady" should never have been released as a single. Celine may have liked it, but its sound isn't very radio friendly. (At least not Celine's version.) Celine HAS done well on the charts with uptempo songs in the past ("That's The Way It Is" & "Love Can Move Mountains"). What it all comes down to is the sound and relevance. If Celine were to try and do a remake of "Poker Face" exactly in the style Lady GaGa has done it she would be laughed at because the sound wouldn't "suit" her. It all depends on how the song is written, mixed, produced, and recorded. <Joe> Quote
mirage Posted July 31, 2009 at 07:08 PM Posted July 31, 2009 at 07:08 PM (edited) if only she sang: when love takes over... i think with a good song, a good beat she can do it, i dont want her to be a Lady Gaga. ANDHC and TTWI were uptempo songs to and were hits, so she can do it.Maybe with a dj, and not mentioning it is celine singing who knows ;-) most radiostations when they know it's a celine song they dont even listen to it soo... madonna's new single Celebration is also an electro, pop song... we need celine to do it too Edited July 31, 2009 at 07:09 PM by mirage Quote
autumnskies00 Posted July 31, 2009 at 07:13 PM Posted July 31, 2009 at 07:13 PM yeah right. just like the christmas album eh? Even if it were true I wouldn't like the idea. Celine's got too much of a voice to cover it up with synthing and lots of background music. Songs in the past like OH never really showed off what she can do. I would like an album with songs like 'I knew I loved you' with just her and some violins or a piano. Something acoustic. Even if it were old songs redone acoustically it would be fabulous and become a huuuge seller with big fans (like us) and casual fans who only know Celine as the titantic lady. Sony would love it too because they seem to love re-releasing those songs over and over again. Quote http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b213/autumnskies00/siggy1-2.jpg
Taking Chances Posted July 31, 2009 at 08:00 PM Posted July 31, 2009 at 08:00 PM If she did a song like Cher's Believe I will approve, but electro-pop sounds so cheap for her. I am open for it though, it might be great. I would love for her to sing more upbeat songs making her albums a little more controversial. Quote

I think she forgot she ever made it, seeing she said how great it was to be offered a modern song; TTWII I think if they released the Metro Remix of THLAL as a single, the song would have had more chance... Shadow of Love suits her very well too! but of course Sony doesn't release that as a song! no, they choose the cheap Eyes on me! I don't think she should do Lady Gaga kind of music, but something with a good beat, but yet still chearful! i heard ithe rumour from a freind they said they heard it somewhere else , it would be amazing, but it's probably just a rumour oke just just made it very unbelievable! fred Posted July 31, 2009 at 09:59 PM Posted July 31, 2009 at 09:59 PM Misled has a nice overall sprirt, but it is very corny in its production. THLAL was always.... well special, and even though I don't see JALBOL as supe good it still would had made a greater single than THLAL. EOM is indeed very cheap in its sound, but would for sure have been a hit if it was given an honest chance and not released "exclusivly" in one of the most Céline unfriendly nations right along with her doing a live show all so obviously lipped on TV there. I wouldn't be afraid that the quality of an all electro pop album being lower than any of her previous. Let's face it, TC has only a handfull HQ tracks (TC,TJTWIM,RNTTRO,SS). And people, of course a make over of the old hit tracks are long overdue, but let's face it it's just not in the Céline Team's vocabulary. They promised a new sound to her old hits for the TC tour.... I rest my case. And yes, she does sound oh so good doing rock tunes (Your Light, RDMH) unless she yells for no obvious reason (the TC tour, especially It's a Man's Man's Man's World). And doing 80ies rock would be really fine, I love her first English album, but Alone doesn't give me much hope. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.

celine4evauk Posted August 1, 2009 at 04:54 PM Posted August 1, 2009 at 04:54 PM I think Celine should concentrate on more songs like IACBTMN, INSA etc - Jim Steinman epics. More powerful/moving ballads and maybe one or two songs on an album thats a little different (like Rain, Tax etc). For an english album that is!! Oh, and Sony should have released EOM remix feat.
