Lymon Posted July 30, 2009 at 05:30 PM Posted July 30, 2009 at 05:30 PM Interesting idea. I'd love to see experiment with this genre. With the likes of Lady GaGa getting huge success with this genre, this could be Celine's true comeback. Quote http://i51.tinypic.com/2uf4r5f.png

Nando Férri Posted July 30, 2009 at 05:43 PM Posted July 30, 2009 at 05:43 PM I would love to. But I'm sure it's not true. First of all, they don't plan a single soooo early. Fisrt they need the whole album ready. So... But like I said, I would love to! I hope that she will continue to give is new beats in her voice. All that I DON'T WANT TO is a new ballad album. Ughhh. maceta_biloxi Posted July 30, 2009 at 07:01 PM Posted July 30, 2009 at 07:01 PM Actually this doesn't necessarily mean that they are going to do something with her voice, like they did with Cher. It might be something like Cyndi Lauper's latest album, very eletro pop but her voice wasn't alter like Cher's... I imagine songs like "Sorry For Love" (ANDHC version), very uptempo, very dancefloor, with electronic bits and sounds... fred Posted July 30, 2009 at 09:47 PM Posted July 30, 2009 at 09:47 PM Even though I don't think this is true I still think this would be a great idea. When I first heard Kelly from Destiny's Child (was it) record that disco tune with that DJ guy who I don't know the name of, and that other artist had joined him on his new album I was like: "Why didn't Céline do that?!". Her voice sounds very good on electric disco tunes, like some remixes of IDAN and even SFL. I think she could be a huge disco diva, really sure of it. And she always mentions how much she wants to have mroe uptempo songs in her live reportoir, so why not??? If she won't go for soulful, bluesy, jazzy tunes, I'd say the best thing for her career would be go electric disco queen. I can't stand when she's doing things inbetween, one foot here one foot there, some place safe... some place booring.... /fred Quote Peace and love to all.

Claudette Posted July 30, 2009 at 10:30 PM Posted July 30, 2009 at 10:30 PM As long as she they don't do funny weird voices Lady Gaga crap I would prefer Celine singing stuff that showcases her beautiful pipes... celinerific Posted July 31, 2009 at 01:23 AM Posted July 31, 2009 at 01:23 AM Okay... not exactly the best news, but still news nonetheless lol. I wouldn't mind an electro-pop single, but I'd much prefer if Celine went towards to Jazz genre instead - MUCH more suitable for her voice and it IS a beautiful type of music after all. Turuncan Posted July 31, 2009 at 01:52 AM Posted July 31, 2009 at 01:52 AM (edited) Well, they could always elect to keep her voice pure and confine the electro elements to the backing track. That's it. That's what I completely think. Auto-Tune is for likes of Cher and Madonna. Likes of Celine, Mariah and Whitney should not use it. I hate Mariah's latest single 'Obsessed' due to this though I am a very huge Mariah fan. If you take a general look at Celine's albums, you will see she does not ignore the current trends of the time, but never completely surrenders to them, either. For example, around the R&B mania during the first half of the 2000s, she used R&B flavors in some of her songs, but never made an album that is totally R&B. R&B is still popular, but not in the form of the early 2000s. Nevertheless, she used R&B in 'Eyes on Me', but not with the trends of 2007, just according to her own way. I think Electro-Pop mania is so overwhelming that Celine will not escape it, either. But I never believe she will present her angelic voice in Auto-Tune and make a Club record. She will use it as a flavor rather than an ingredient. In my opinion, what best suits her is the edgy Rock sound in "Taking Chances". She should stick to it more. An album with edgy songs such as 'Can't Fight the Feelin'' (my favorite), power ballads such as 'Alone', and maybe '80s Rock? I would love it. Edited July 31, 2009 at 01:52 AM by Turuncan Quote
idroveallnight Posted July 31, 2009 at 03:42 AM Posted July 31, 2009 at 03:42 AM At this point I would say anything is possible. Celine has nothing to lose and nothing to gain. Whatever she does now is strictly for the fans. Quote
SuperLove4Celine Posted July 31, 2009 at 04:14 AM Posted July 31, 2009 at 04:14 AM I've been hoping Céline would do a dance album similar to Gloria Estefan's album Gloria!. That album had so many upbeat and infectious numbers it was almost impossible not to like! It had some nice electronic ballads ("Touched By An Angel" & "Heaven's What I Feel"), while at the same time including hot uptempo hits ("Don't Let This Moment End" & "Oye"), and including the fan favorite "I Just Wanna Be Happy." We've already seen what can happen when Céline opts for a song to be funky and danceable as compared to ballad form in "Sorry For Love." I think it would be amazing to hear more upbeat songs and maybe have one or two bonus tracks of some of her hit ballads revamped and rerecorded into smash club hits ("The Power Of Love," "Where Does My Heart Beat Now," "Have You Ever Been In Love"). <Joe> Quote

This is so true! I love especially 'Don't Stop' from that album. By the way, how many people know that originally Celine recorded the song 'Heaven's What I Feel' and then changed her mind and didn't include it in an album? Right. This already worked in the Tony Moran Remix of 'To Love You More'. Quote

It's a great song. I would love to listen to Celine doing something like that. I just wish she could do an (good) uptempo album with a lot of surprises. Bell Posted July 31, 2009 at 08:45 AM Posted July 31, 2009 at 08:45 AM (edited) I tihnk that trying new things is not bad. But if this really happens, let it be just a single, not a whole album of that kind. Everyone changes as time goes by. For example, I truly love Celine's early English period but it's impossible to go back to something like this now. Like it or not, she needs to be at least a little up to date and if electro pop is today's music, Celine could do a couple of such songs. On the other hand, I support everyone here who thinks that she should do some jazz. Edited July 31, 2009 at 08:45 AM by Bell Quote 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER
