Peppercorn1991 Posted July 6, 2009 at 10:39 PM Posted July 6, 2009 at 10:39 PM Hey Well my Celine journey started when i was about eight. Before and after Primary school i had a childminder (Babysitter). She was like my mum sorta cus i diddnt have a mum at home and she was someone who had a big part of my life when i was young. At the time she was well into celine and had been since the' colour of my love' but stopped playing it after a while. Anyway when i started going to her as a child she started listening to her again (This was about the same time as' My heart will go on') and played 'All The Way a decade of song' all the time, everyday, all the time lol. Her best song was 'The Power Of Love'. This was the song that got me into her from the start. My Dad always said he liked jennifer Rushs version better but i always said Celine was the best lol. For my ninth birthday i asked for the 'All the way .......' CD, and i got it Now i had the CD myself i could listen to it all the time when ever i wanted! I loved the 'power of love', 'immortality', 'because you loved me' and its 'all coming back to me now' and i can remeber always repeating the end of to 'love you more' havong goosbumps and thinking WOW! Celine would have been on her first break at this time. Anyway one day i was off school because i had brocken my leg and was watching the TV. And an advert for celines 'A new Day has come' came on! I had to have it right away I got my dad to go and get it for me and i loved it. I think it could even still be my best celine album. 'Im alive' my freinds loved, 'a new day has come' was great, 'ten days' was so good too. i just loved the whole album! It was then i learned about celines show in vegas! I always dreamed of going but like many of you otheres you were too young and couldnt afford lol i used to watch adverts from the show on AOL Videos at the time lol and i thought WOW Anyway next came 'one heart'! WOW! 'I drove all night!'!!!!! I just Love love love that song! it is still my fav song! i listen to it everyday! I loved the whole album too but 'I drove all night 'Made me want to shout and dance lol and sing away all night lol I remeber my dad brought me the ''all the way DVD and soon after the 'A new day has come' DVD single! i couldnt stop watching them. i took them with me to my child minders and we watched them together After time i diddnt really hear much about celine being in vegas:( I listend to her music everyday but diddnt know about the 'mirical' album or 'ONCP' CD. It was 2007 and i was in my last year of high school anddiddnt have to go to a childminders anymore lol 2007 made me fall in love with her all over again but 10 times more! 'Delles' came out and so did 'Taking chances'! I just loved them, i had 'Delles 'for my 16th brthday and i loved it so much, the presentation of the CD was great. (i hade the cd/dvd/ version). it was then when i properly started using this forum, the months up to taking chances album! in september 2007 I started working partime whilst at colege, and had the mony to buy every thing celine I buy everything Celine! I love everythign. like many of you on here i am a crazy celine fan She makes me happy everyday and i love everything about her and her music style and memrabilia. I dont think i could live without celine now in my life The forum is always exciting me, i love it and i use it everyday! Thankyou all for being on here to make our lives more Celine and keep up to date with Celine on a daily basis. Even though now im a big celine fan i diddnt forget who made me love her so much, my childminder when i was at the age of 8. At the end of 2007 when Celine put out tickets for the manchester, May 3rd concert, i took her with me to see the concert, and we enjoyed the night together (as well as my g/f lol). it was sort of a thankyou for making me love her so much. That night in manchester was great and i will neaver forget that night where me and my old childminder saw celine for the first time, and the journey i went through with her as i grew up loving Celine! I will always be a big Celine Fan now and i carnt wait to see what is next to come in the life and great carear of CELINE DION! Kev TELL YOUR STORY! Quote
Tyler1991 Posted July 6, 2009 at 10:53 PM Posted July 6, 2009 at 10:53 PM I was online watching videos and was looking to see if Leona Lewis was black or white (this was probably march of 2008?) and I was watching All By Myself. Everyone in the comments said that Celine Dion had a better version so I watched her studio version and was like, DAMNNNNNNNN. So since then, I've been obsessed with Celine and her songs with big notes, but still don't care for the boring slow ones that have nothing exciting, lol (although there are a few exceptions). Quote
Belle Céline Posted July 6, 2009 at 10:54 PM Posted July 6, 2009 at 10:54 PM (edited) Should this be in the off topic section? I'll go ahead and say what made me become a fan. Well when I was little I saw Titanic and after that my mom bought my cousin and I the LTAL CD just for the song MHWGO. I wasn't a fan fan yet, I ended up losing the cd a few years after that. It wasn't until ANDHC video that I really became a fan. I saw it first, if I remember correctly the video was september of '02 and the cd was march of '02 right? I didn't buy the cd till after I saw the video. I saw it on vh1 and I was mesmerized. I stopped in the middle of my room and just started at the tv till the video was over. All I could think was omg I HAVE to get that cd! She is AMAZING! I bought the cd and the special dvd pack of ANDHC and I've been hooked ever since I saw the video on vh1. Scramasboy Posted July 6, 2009 at 11:33 PM Posted July 6, 2009 at 11:33 PM Okay, so Titanic came out, and me and my sister we're obsessed with My Heart Will Go On- We had agreed that she could have MHWGO at her wedding, and I could have it at my funeral, since it was tacky for it to be both our wedding songs LOL. xD So, when the song'd come on, we'd both like, blurt out: "I'M CELINE DION WHO SANG TITANIC" haha I remember that so vividly, and it was on my aunts Titanic cd. So time wen't on, and I became a fan. Not huge, but a reg fan [i was young] and I watched her performances when they we're on, and I specifically waiting to watch her All The Way tv special, and I loved it. Then, my mom bought me the All The Way cd for Christmas, and that was the start of something big! I played it over and over! At first I HATED IYAMT and POL than I loved them, haha! I played it as loud as I could, over and over. I watched her on Barbra Walters when she talked about having a baby... And then, in 2001 I noticed at WalMart they had All The Way the VHS, so I begged her for it, she refused, it was $20 bucks. So I begged and begged and gave her all the money I could find, no matter who's it was, and she eventually took me to Tower Records and got me the VHS and me and my sister and mom all watched it together. They talked about how beautiful she was [Tpol/iacbtmn videos] and I just watched and listened, amazed and stunned. Then, soon enough I was watching Rosie and it said that Celine was gonna come on the next week, so I was excited, and then my brother told me that Celine was gonna be on 20/20 por whatever Barbra Walters was doing] and I was so excited, and then she was on Rosie and all the shows and such singing ANDHC and I was like, so entranced with that song, and I was just so in love! The DAY A New Day Has Come came out I forced my Momma to take me to Wal Mart and I bought it there. I listened to it over and over, and as luck would have it, I went over to my grandma's one morning with my fam, it was before we had cable, and Divas Live was on, the Vegas one, and I watched her perform.. It was so awesome. So yeah, that's how it all happened. Quote http://68.media.tumblr.com/0215da4dacb45f3375c9bf63cb89e9c3/tumblr_o3edqjdnpP1s2lrfeo1_1280.png
ladylindsey Posted July 7, 2009 at 12:15 AM Posted July 7, 2009 at 12:15 AM (edited) I think I have kinda told this story before, but I'll put it in here I grew up dancing (what can I say, it's my thing) and we had a big dance recital at the end of every year. The teacher would record all of our songs onto a little cassette tape and we took it home to practice, practice, practice. We also had a finalé song every year during which the whole dance studio came onstage at the end of the recital and closed out the show. It was 1991. I was 7 years old, almost 8 It was the year of the Gulf War in the United States and our finalé song was "Voices that Care" in honor of soldiers that were overseas. I didn't quite understand all of this, I just knew I had to practice the song. So I start listening to my little tape and every time this one lady's part came on in "Voices that Care" I would just stop and stand there and listen. Of course her line is like the 2nd and 3rd lines and then later at the end she sings the high part. The best way to describe it is, well, the most beautiful sound my 7 yr old ears had EVER heard. I really can't explain hearing Céline's voice for the first time. It moves me to tears to even think about it (lame I know but hey, I'm an emotional girl haha ). OKAY I know how to describe it. Like when Céline is making all those weird sounds in that interview about how Michel and the others would sing weird stuff to her when she was little in different pitches!! hahahaha Like "Mamaaaaaan..." and how she said "it touched her." That's it! hehe It touched me. So instead of doing what I was supposed to do, practice my little dance to the song, I played and rewound Céline's parts in the song and ONLY her parts! Many many many times. I had NO idea who was singing, but I knew it was the most beautiful voice I had ever heard and I fell in love and it gave me chills and made me want to cry and made me smile all at the same time. I know you guys know what I'm talking about I don't know how I made it through the finale song cause I really never practiced, I was rewinding that tape all the time, but I guess I did Fast forward 5-6 years later. I'm still dancing and I've grown up a lot One of my friends at school brought a tape to school and we listened to it during our study hall. And that was the first time I heard of Céline Dion. "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" was the first Céline song I heard and I instantly fell in love. That same friend bought me Falling Into You for my birthday It was my first CD of any kind. I didn't even have a CD player, I played it in my computer's disc drive lol. Ever since then I have been the biggest Céline fan I know, even when I was teased and called a dork, I didn't care. I love my Céline. And it wasn't until about 2 years ago that I accidentally stumbled upon an article mentioning "Voices that Care." I had COMPLETELY forgotten about that song! And then ohhhhhh please forgive me but I have to- IT ALL STARTED COMING BACK TO ME THEN! I remembered the voice I had heard and how I had loved it and I thought "Nooooooooo way. It CAN'T BE." So I Googled "Voices that Care" and I get a list of artists who had collaborated on the song. And there she was. "Céline Dion." I remember sitting there in shock and tears at the likelihood that the same voice I had fallen in love with as a little girl had found me years later and had been the only one I had ever loved. She was meant to be my favorite all along. My forever favorite. Ms. Céline Dion. I just went back to my childhood home a few days ago and I dug through all of my old cassette tapes hoping and praying I could find it- the one with the recording that touched me and inspired me so much as a little girl with "Voices that Care" on it. And there it was, at the back of the box. My dance teacher had written my name on it and 1991. And on the other side in red crayon I had written "RECITLE 1991) hehehe I misspelled it I start to play it and it is already right at the part I had rewound to- right before Céline sings her first line. It still plays! I started jumping up and down like I was 7 yrs old all over again and for some reason I cried, too haha. It was just as I had remembered it! I brought it home with me and it is now my most prized possession! I have always said I would never ever dare to ask Céline for an autograph, I would feel too guilty about even asking her, I would rather look her in the eyes and tell her thank you, merci, over and over again. But if I ever do get to meet her on eon one, I will have my little cassette tape written in red crayon and get her to sign it so that I might keep it forever and ever That is the only thing I would ever dare present to her because it means more than anything to me. It represents the beginning of a wonderful love- My Love- with my forever favorite The End. I need a tissue now. Edited July 7, 2009 at 12:23 AM by ladylindsey Quote
Lymon Posted July 7, 2009 at 12:23 AM Posted July 7, 2009 at 12:23 AM (edited) Well for a long time I didn't listen to much music, up until about August 2007. I was in Canada, and I saw the A New Day live CD. I always knew who Celine was, and I knew the big hits, but I never dove deeper then that. So on a whim I bought the AND live CD. It's not my favorite CD, but at the time it made me interested enough to get more of her CDs. So I bought FIY and OH. I slowly started becoming a bigger and bigger fan, until TC when she was instantly one of my favorites. From that point until maybe March of this year I listened to her all the time. Literally, hours in a day. Now, I listen to her normally and I am still a big fan, but I am also a bigger fan of some other artists The one thing I have to thank Celine for is introducing me to music in general. She opened up my eyes to music, and got me to be a fan of many artists. So without her, I may not love music as much as I do. For that, Celine will always have a special place in my heart. I may not like a lot of the things she does, but I still love her and think she is an incredible woman. Edited July 7, 2009 at 12:24 AM by Lymon Quote http://i51.tinypic.com/2uf4r5f.png
browseceline Posted July 7, 2009 at 05:41 AM Posted July 7, 2009 at 05:41 AM In the time Falling Into You came out, my sister bought that cd and I kinda liked it too. but sometimes I could not stand the screaming I heard. That is how I thought about it. But I became more interested in her later on and got the Déux cd which I played very often. When Titanic came out I saw that movie twice and the first time I saw it it was accompanied by this amazing music with flutes and strings..en then at the end Celine came with her wonderful MHWGO. And I immediately bought myself the soundtrack of the movie and bought the single cd of mhwgo. It became my favorite song ever. Ever since it came out I began playing it on the piano because I really love the tune. In 1999 I had concerttickets for the concert in Amsterdam. But in that same time I had to go to a sort of obliged excursion with the rest of my classmates. My teacher said if I did not go the excursion I would have to do it over at another time with other people and it would slow down my classes.study. So with pain in my heart we sold the tickets..That night when Celine performed we were in the house where we stayed during the excursion and Celine was on Dutch Shownieuws andI saw some openingnight video and I felt really sad missing the whole concert..But I bought myself the Au Coeur Du Stade dvd and that kinda helped because it is great concert dvd, the best Celine dvd ever in my opinion. Last year I finally had the chance to see Celine live in Amsterdam. I got myself some very good tickets and was thrilled to see her live! And it was worth it hearing her enormous vocals in the Amsterdam Arena..and with my binoculars.. I always take them with me, I could see her so clearly! It was amazing. Sadfully the concert ended so soon but it was a great great experience! Hope to see her life once again! Claudette Posted July 7, 2009 at 11:13 AM Posted July 7, 2009 at 11:13 AM mazceline, you are so right. The crap that some people call singing these days... Anyway, here is my story: When I was in primary school, I used to spent a lot of time with one of my cousins (who unfortunately passed away a few years ago). She made a cassette with a mixture of some songs which included ''Because You Loved Me'' and ''It's All Coming Back To Me Now'' to play in her car (those days most cars didn't have CD players). So one day we were driving somewhere and I heard ''Because You Loved Me'' and ''It's All Coming Back To Me Now'' for the first time. I was like: who is that? And I started begging her to make me a cassette with that songs, which she did. I think I playd that cassette so many times Celine started to sound like a chipmunk. From there on my mom would buy me a Celine CD for Christmas or my birthday. Now, whenever I hear ''It's All Coming Back To Me'' and ''Because You Loved Me'', I always think of my cousin. Another weird story: When I stared University in 2004, we had to attend these orientation crap the week before classes started. Well all my friends went to different Universities so I was kind of on my own. So one morning I went into the lecture hall and I found a seat next to this girl. I was trying to make new friends so I started talking to her. As the day went by, we realized that both of us are like huge Celine fans. We became best friends... We went to two shows in South Africa last year. I think it is just amazing how we ended up next to each other. Quote http://i993.photobucket.com/albums/af51/ClaudetteRobinson/esme.jpg

ellinger Posted July 7, 2009 at 12:31 PM Posted July 7, 2009 at 12:31 PM I remember listening to (and falling in love with) songs like 'Where Does My Heart Beat Now', 'If You Asked Me To', and 'Water From the Moon' in the early 90's on the radio...but my first album was 'The Colour Of My Love'. A friend had bought it for my mom, but I stole it. Quote
popstar60 Posted July 7, 2009 at 12:54 PM Posted July 7, 2009 at 12:54 PM (edited) I'm French, and I first heard of Celine Dion with her french hit PQTME in 1995. But I was only 8 and to be honest I didn't like that song. I knew it was a phenomenal hit in France, but I was to young to appreciate Celine's voice. I finally felll in love with MHWGO in early 1998. At first, I didn't become a fan of Celine, but only a fan of the song and of the Titanic phenomenon like millions of people all around the world. I remember spending my time listening to the song over and over again, trying to understand the lyrics. That's how my parents bought me my first album of Celine, LTAL. This album made me discover more about Celine's voice, which was at its peak in 1998. The next album I bought was SSDA, and it confirmed my love for this voice. But it's really with ATW in 1999 that I became not only a fan of the voice, but also a fan of the woman. I can't see any other singer in the world with such a beautiful personnality, she's so down on earth and close to her fans. And although she's one of the best selling artists of all time, she remains this little girl who had a lot of dreams to fulfill! She's definitely my idol and I don't see any other singer who can be able to reach her! She's THE ONE AND ONLY! I think I knew who Céline Dion was and I must have heard some of her songs on the radio before I became a fan for about nine and a half years ago. When MHWGO started playing on the radio I pretty much ignored the song. However, some time later (in 1999 I think) I fell in love with it and thought Céline had a pretty amazing voice. When I heard there was a new Céline song (TTWII) I was interested in hearing it and was hoping it would be a ballad like MHWGO that I loved so much. When TTWII started playing on the radio I was a bit disappointed at first as the song wasn't like MHWGO. However, before I knew it I was going bonkers every time I heard the song. I was totally obsessed with it and always listened to it at full blast. Then my dad said I should get the CD with TTWII on it so that I could listen to it whenever I wanted to. I remember being like "I don't know... I might not like all the other songs of hers at all". Then dad bought me the CD 'All The Way... A decade of Song'. I listened to it and totally fell in love with the songs and Céline's voice. I needed to know who the woman behind the amazing voice was so I started surfing some Céline sites on the internet to learn more about her. takeachance Posted July 8, 2009 at 06:16 PM Posted July 8, 2009 at 06:16 PM (edited) I first became a fan when i was about 9 or that. I used to listen to "The colour of my Love " cd , songs like "only one road " and "Just walk away" .I used to listen to them when my sister was in Germany, and I used to miss her sooo much and listening to Celine, who my sister liked too, to me made me feel closer to her.I thought it was real grown up music and just loved Celines voice. I thought she was really cool when I saw her on tv , her short brown hair and her goofy ness. Then when "think twice" came out here in Ireland, that was it she was a hit. I remember growing up all through school with her music and being in such awe and amazement of her relationship with her husband Rene. Like she was such a beauty and i didnt really think he was (i now see his handsome side!) Then when he got cancer I felt so bad for her and one feels like they know her. I just really always loved her music especially the falling into you album, i used to pretend to be her singing in the mirror. So all my life id always buy her new cds and i always loved them. I loved her french songs too. I loved watching her perform , but it was not until the last year where i really learned about Celine, her life , and when I did, and read her books, joined this forum I completely fell in love with her!! Basically since I saw her in Croke Park and joined this forum, and bought her A New Day dvd. So yeah thats how and why I love Celine, she rocks!!!! Oh and then i was in Vegas early this year and realised what an idiot i was to of missed her there and have made a pact to myself that im going if she ever comes back and i think ill just fall to pieces if i ever meet her or see her up close Edited July 8, 2009 at 06:20 PM by takeachance Quote http://i66.tinypic.com/2dk08jn.gifRIP Rene Angelil xx Sending Love and Prayers to Celine

Who was this woman who was just belting this thing out of the ball park? I HAD TO KNOW! So I asked my mom and she said it was Celine Dion. So, then I had to have the CD with My Heart Will Go On: "Let's Talk About Love". So, I just listened to MHWGO forever and forever and it was September and my mom picked my sister up from school and said she had a surprise. We were going to Columbus to see CELINE!!!!! I was so excited! Even though we had nosebleed seats, I was loving it. But I didn't know alot of her songs. So, after every one, I continually asked "When is she going to sing MHWGO?" Bear in mind, this was my first concert. So, after singing every song that she possibly could, she said goodnight and my heart about broke. I couldn't believe it. She wasn't going to sing MHWGO. So I started yelling "CELINE! CELINE! CELINE! CELINE!" in which the whole stadium broke out into my cheer. Then, a Titanic movie montage was shown on screen and I think the look on my face could have been described like a kid on Christmas morning. Here she was, about to sing the song I had been dying to hear. She came up out of the stage in the famous pink dress she wears in Au Coeur Du Stade, as well as with the bow railings from the ship. She sang the song beautifully, and my favorite part was when she ran up to the ships railings to sing the last stanza of the song. Ever since, I've been a Celine fan! Take a look at my signature. This is how much I love Celine. To date, I've seen her 5 times! (WOW! CELINE'S LUCKY NUMBER!) I've loved every minute of being a Celine fan and I can't wait to see what she does next. SensationalCeline Posted July 20, 2009 at 01:36 AM Posted July 20, 2009 at 01:36 AM The first Celine song I ever heard like most people was My Heart Will Go On while I was watching Titanic. I was 6 or 7 at the time I believe and I loved the song but I didn't really do anything about it at that point. The second song I heard was That's The Way It Is and I fell in love with it. The next song I heard was I Drove All Night when we had to take my dad his lunch at work because he forgot it and it was like a 45 minute drive to and from and I heard this song on the way back. I can still picture the plant and the trees and the road looking out the window while this song was playing. I had that song stuck in my head but I didn't really use the internet then so I didn't know who it was still. THe final breakthrough came when I heard A New Day Has Come and I wanted the album because it had just come out. For Easter that year, I was in the 4th grade and my dad got the album instead of me. I wanted to listen to it right away in the dvd player and just let it play but dad told me no. He likes getting his head scratched so I bribed him. I said I would scratch his head the entire length of the album if he let me listen to it so he did. I ended up hitting the back button when he was taking little cat naps so I really listened to it like 6 or 7 times before he realized what I was doing. That was when I put it all together that all those songs that I loved was Celine Dion. I started to really listen to her near the end of my 6th grade year because Taylor had gotten me into Cher in 5th grade and it kinda carried over into 6th. The first Celine cd that I got that was actually mine was All The Way A Decade Of Song because mom told me that if I got an A in math instead of a B that I could have it so I worked my a## off to get my first Celine Dion cd because it had That's The Way It Is and My Heart Will Go On. After that, I believe it was One Heart I got because of I Drove All Night. Then when Miracle came out my 7th grade year, I really started collecting anything and everything Celine Dion that I could get my hands on and ever since then, I've been a huge fan and stayed that way. Celine is the one celebrity that I've been hooked on going on 6 years now and it's going to stay that way. I love her so much, I don't know what I'd do without her in my life. My teachers always know which binders are mine when we have notebook checks because there is always a Celine picture in them...front and back. That's the story of how I got into Celine Dion. Anniina Posted July 20, 2009 at 11:39 PM Posted July 20, 2009 at 11:39 PM It's really nice to read your stories! I soon realized there was no turning back, I had become a huge fan. And when she had me, my mother and my father always played some music. Like Backstreet Boys, Ricky Martin, Robbie Williams, Céline, some Finnish bands and -singers and all kinds of music. I started to sing when I began to talk, I started to play the piano by ear, and I kinda grew up with music all around me (hahaha, that's sounds pretty celinish:D)..And when i got older, like five to six years, i always wanted to hear Celine. I couldn't say her name, but i still always wanted to listen her. When i was about ten years old, i remember going to my room, lighting candles and put "these are the special times" on the radio, and i always fell asleep.. but i didn't want to. I just wanted to listen her perfect, soft, strong voice. And when she came to Finland last summer.. i don't know how can i explain how i felt. I cried and cried and cried, because i couldn't go to Helsinki and see her!! We were off to Tuscany. But you can have two guesses, where i'd rather be in that week: in Tuscany, or in the same place, in the same ROOM Céline was? sorry, back to the point....but when i was younger, i always admired her because of her voice. i never knew how wonderful she'd be in person. So now, about two years ago i got that "a-ha!"-experience, when i realised that celine's really - you know, i always thought she was beautiful! but i noticed that she's the most beautiful person in this WORLD, from inside and outside. i couldn't love her more i love her now.. she's my inspiration and my rolemodel. i couldn't even think a life without her.you give me strength céline!(sorry for my shortened lifestory, but i can't help myself..) C.D._LoVer Posted July 26, 2009 at 06:11 AM Posted July 26, 2009 at 06:11 AM How things started for me is I was searching videos on Youtube, I was looking at Grey's Anatomy videos of Denny and Izzy... lame I know. But then all the sudden MHWGO came on with one of the videos and the voice blew me away. I had to know who it was, duh it was Celine. From that moment on I was hooked. I looked up all her songs and I listened to them over and over. The first time I heard her was at my grandpa's funeral... Because you loved me. I always loved the song and I knew it was her... but I didn't care for some reason. But MHWGO got me. And since then she is really all I listen to. Timster Posted July 27, 2009 at 07:47 AM Posted July 27, 2009 at 07:47 AM I wish I had discovered Celine earlier, but basically about 3 years ago (when I was 12), I wanted to download the Titanic theme song. So I typed it into Google, and I found that the artist was Celine Dion. I sort of recognised the name but I didn't know any of her music! So I went on iTunes and downloaded the song from All The Way. Then a few weeks later I was watching TV when the Air Canada commercial was playing. I absolutely loved the song, so I immediately went on the internet to try and fing the name of the song. It was You and I by Celine Dion!!! I knew then that this woman was an amazing singer I've been a huge fan ever since and have loads of her CDs! Quote
