Although it hasn't been confirmed yet, it's more than likely the Air France plane. The debris they've found so far is spread out 60km apart!! And the wreckage was found slightly to the right of where they last had contact so it's possible they tried to turn round. But aparantly the amount of wreckage they found is no way near what they would expect for a plane the size on an A330. So either most it has sunk to the bottom of the ocean or they haven't found everything yet. But I'd imagine when they find bits of the fusalage, they'll start to find the bodies too.

Can you imagine how the people in the plane must have felt right before the crash? I mean, apparently it didn't happen in just five minutes... several signals were sent before the crash, which means that they must have all freaked out for a while... those families with their small children... everybody.

 

I honestly hope they all died during the 10 000km crash, that it was quick, not when the plane actually crashed...

You can't confirm anything when you are not certain that it is indeed from the missing plane. Therefor serialnumbers are needed to be compared...

 

It is not because there isn't another plane registered missing that no other plane could have crashed. Criminals are using those days also modern airplanes to run drugs for example. When such a plane crashes I'm quite certain that the "owner" wouldn't register it as missing. So yes there was maybe a very very slim posibility that another plane could have been missing without knowing it. Therefore everything needed to be compared.

This is so sad One Icelander was on this aircraft and children so sad.and all those 228 people..I just hope they didn´t suffer while the plane was crashing instantly death is better then u can´t feel anything

With a bit of luck they wouldn't have noticed it... Although the ACARS system sended messages for over 4 minutes it weren't apparently any faults that triggered the system to alarm. The spread of debriss, the sudden loss of the plane (another plane following it less then 15 minutes after didn't notice a thing) could suggest that the plane disintegrated rapidly.... Maybe an explosive decompression took place or even an explosion which could mean that the people suffered instant dead. However, when this was not the case it could take about 30 seconds to become unconcious which is probably extremely long in such a case... The fall itself could have taken about 3 minutes and some seconds when disintegrated at flightlevel, however when the plane was not disintegrated in flight it could have taken much langer which can explain the stream of messages sended through the ACARS system...

 

A sad story... 228 people lost their lives and we don't know why... It could take years to find a cause... Let's hope they find the CVR (Cockpit Voice Recorder) and the DFDR (Digital Flight Data Recorder) so they can be analysed and a cause can be found...

 

But neverless, flying remains the most safe way of travelling on this planet... Tommorow I'll board a couple of planes to reach my holiday destination at Las Vegas and I'll do it with confidence that flying is indeed the safest way of travelling.

I'm an aviation enthousiast and I love flying so I won't let any sleep for it, and you know what they say: everytime one comes down, it's a bit safer for the rest of us who are flying since chances are very slim a second accident happens in such small amount of time

Well we received some bad news today from our CEO - one of the passengers was an employee of our company. Further, an 11-year-old boy who was on the A330, and studied in a major city near to us was the son of one of our employees.

 

In a fortunate event, one of our former employees, Sebastien, left to work in the Paris office. He was working for another company in Brazil last week, and was on his was back to Paris. He was on his way to the airport in Rio de Janeiro, and was called back to work and he missed his flight. He's very lucky.

Brazilian air force says debris was not from Air France crash.

 

The Brazilian air force said that debris picked up Thursday near where officials believe Air France Flight 447 crashed Monday into the Atlantic Ocean was not from the plane.

 

"It has been verified that the material did not belong to the plane," Brigadier Ramon Borges Cardoso told reporters in Recife about the material recovered Thursday. "It is a pallet of wood that is utilized for transport. It is used in planes, but on this flight to Paris, there was no wooden pallet."

 

He added that oil slicks seen on the ocean were not from the plane, either, and that the quantity of oil exceeded the amount the plane would have carried.

 

"No material from the airplane was picked up," he said.

 

The announcement left open the question of whether other debris that had not yet been plucked from the ocean might be from the plane.

 

On Wednesday, searchers recovered two debris fields and had identified the wreckage, including an airplane seat and an orange float as coming from Flight 447. Officials now say that none of the debris recovered is from the missing plane.

Well, they're not actually sure where about the plane came down, are they? So finding small bits of aircraft in the Atlantic Ocean is even more difficult than finding a needle in a haystack!

 

The oil slick probably did not come from the A330 because the A330 is an airliner - not an oil tanker. The amount of oil in the engines and hydraulic systems is insufficient to cause a slick.

 

I'm also doubting the claims that a large piece of metal discovered came from the A330's tail. This airliner is made largely of composite material - including the tail.

 

They just need to keep looking and find that Flight Data Recorder!

3 young docters from ireland died in crash and one of them lived very near to me , , i did not know her. it is so awful, i hope they find more debris, bodies from crash, to help the loved ones of those who died get answers. its so sad. hope they also find black box

 

i was pretty nervous on a flight last night ..... alot of turbulance, i was praying...... i was thinking, it could have been anyone, there was a very nervous passanger beside me, i dont blame them. not nice being on plane so soon after a plane crash
