One Heart or her Chrysler album to me was a album made in 2 seconds just to fit the beggining of AND in Vegas

Not making a proper promotion since ANDHC is just awaful, her latest french albums were forgoten just because they didn't make video clips or tv presentations (the bad side of performing 5 days a week en LV) this stole time from making a proper promotion

 

TC is a great album, sadly the promotion just failed, I think that Sony thought that the World Tour was enough....but not

they should've released more song from the Taking chances album, "Alone" would've been a hit.. "Surprise, Surprise", "This Time", "The Woman in Me" "Shadow of Love", "Fade Away".. i mean all great songs and radio worthy material. I can sometimes be in the car with friends and have TC in my CD player and people will be surprised they are listening to Celine and how great some of her stuff is.. Something needs to happen with her Management.. she is only 41 years old.. she has PLENTY of time left in her life to have more hits! Look at Madonna... i say keep rene but have some assitance from some other producers/managers and promote her and market her towards a younger audience, more popish, she could do it!

I think Celine should get more into managing thing and take more decisions,cause maybe Rene thinks everything is over and she had her hits

and now he is thinking just about more money buy concerts and these stuff,but more shows means celine will be more tired and she will pay less attention to albums.

I think Celine know herself,her abilities and what she likes.so she should make herself decisions,even I thinnk she know what she likes to be singles.

but in Rene mind I don't know.maybe he is living still in 90 decade

One heart as my thoughts was an overact,and extending the contract of Vegas one of the biggest mistakes. and releasing alone with that crap live video as as single pissed me off so much .

 

Totally agree. I remember I couldn't believe what I was reading when the rumors telling that she was extending the Vegas show after march 2006 were completely true. I though she had lost her mind Many of us warned that extension would only bring more damage to her international career, and so it was finally . But it was their decission... they don't care about her international career anymore.

 

I've thought of a few more:

- Changing the cover of A New Day Has Come from the Célineless photo to the beautiful shot of her on the beach. The newer cover truly brought a different feel to the album and helped bring everything together more tightly artistically.

 

Although they used still an artwork without Céline for the first single, ANDHC That design with those yellow and blue flowers doesn't displease me totally, but it looks more the wrapping of a baby's clothing shop

I don't want to think that the songs we have in OH album are the unreleased songs from the ANDHC album

And of course, performing almost every week during 5 years makes anyone tired to do any kind of promotion after those crazy shows .

I want that too, she needs to sing pop songs to a young audience, but I doubt she finally does that. Look what happened with Taking Chances. She had the proper songs to promote and sing to the young public, and she choses My Love to promote the album ¿?

 

Every time she has the right songs to send to radios and promote them in front of a young audience, in concerts, etc, she comes and choses a BALLAD instead

René IS in fact living in the past decade. He doesn't know (or doesn't want to know) what the fans (we) are asking here for Céline to sing. He still thinks that Céline can only succeed with ballads and that her audience is composed mainly of ladies of 40-50 years & up.

 

They'll never try Céline with a dance song because they don't believe Céline can please the audience with those songs. But they are so wrong, and nobody tells them.

The day they release A L'Olympia concert (if that's gonna happen in this Earth someday), it will blow away all the other concerts we know of Céline

It's true that Sony / Rene / Celine have done many right things over the years and many wrong things too and I pretty much agree with everything that's been said already so I won't go over them again.

 

However, with the release of "Taking Chances" I honestly thought that the whole of Sony were right behind her and the album was going to be so heavily supported globablly. Hell, Celine was even going on tour to support the album! But the SAME old mistakes were made again.

 

Celine managed to get herself onto the biggest TV shows in the world to promote her new cd and, in the UK, her appearance on "The X Factor" was the single biggest thing she could've done to promote her new CD. RIGHT MOVE! Then after that, Sony UK go ahead and for some unknown reason to this day go and cancel the physcial CD release of the single. WRONG MOVE! And so Celine's big comeback single limped into #40 of the charts then vanished without a trace.

 

But credit Sony UK, they were about the only Sony division in the world to continue to release singles (right move!) from "Taking Chances", and that's the important word - RELEASED. Because that's about the only thing they did with them they didn't do anything else (wrong move!). Yes "Eyes On Me" and "Alone" got their physical releases after they realized the mistake with the "Taking Chances" single but sadly Sony offered little to NO other support for the release of the singles. Celine even gave 5 live concert performances in the UK during release week for "Alone" and Sony STILL couldn't get her into the charts. And so it will go down in history that world's biggest selling female artist charted somewhere about #122 with "Eyes On Me" in the UK and didn't chart at all with "Alone."

 

Shame really, could've been very different. Where were the videos? The posters? The appearances from Celine? Getting her singles onto radio (and by that I mean more than just Radio 2)? Changed days huh?

I think some lip sync stuff really did bad for her,

I am not questioning her why she lip synced,I am telling why she did that shows at all

when she released Taking chances instead of attending billion interviews and talk shows that made her physically,vocally and emotionally tired. she should take her free time to record good videos for the songs were going to be released as singles,and instead of lip syncing in those shows and interviews she could attend there maybe or not attend ,do a satellite interview from the place she was having vacation and instead of lip sync ok let's watch the videos. I think it is better idea that lips syncs that really did bad job to Celine

specially doing CBS special and lip syncing there was really bad,cause Celine is not expert in lip sync and in CBS she did billion mistakes and she was so tired,her skinand body was so tired,.

if she had more rest she could sing live there.and not doing mistakes in lip syncing in front of cameras.and make people say Celine can't song

I am just devastated that the Taking Chances album didn't receive what it deserved. There is so much good stuff unheard by so many on that album including great radio friendly songs such as Shadow of Love and Fade Away. Shadow of Love has some awesome remixes and would of made an excellent single [with video]. Not to mention a heap of other good songs on the album.

 

I have never been a fan of 'live' video clips and the Alone video was a shocker particularly after the excellent Taking Chances video.

- Not releasing the English version of Je T'aime Encore at same time at French version

 

- Contre Nature should have been the first single for non French countries

 

- Releasing AND Live las vegas CD close to Miracle

 

- The You and I video came to late

 

- To many years in Vegas

 

- Not releasing In Some Small Way as a single with a video

 

- I believe in you should have been more promoted as a Celine's single

 

- D'elles came to earlier (should have came out during her tour in April 2008)

 

- Taking chances should have came out around May with 2 lead singles with Videos (Can't fight the feeling + Taking Chances)

 

- Eyes On me with Will I Am should have been a single and This Time too

 

- Release a Live version of My love as a single was a big mistake,should have been radio version with a video.

 

- The Essential collection doesn’t have a decent song list

 

- They didn’t chose propriety the cities and the countries to tour

- Choosing "In Some Small Way" to promote Miracle while on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. It's one of the more radio friendly songs from the album and it helped boost the album's sales.

- Not including "I Surrender" on A New Day...Live In Las Vegas. This would have been the perfect opportunity to showcase this amazing song. The CD single could have included both the live and studio version of the song, as well as an enhanced clip of the number in A New Day....

 

- Excluding "A New Day Has Come" from A New Day... for the first year/year and a half of the show's run. It was partially the name of the show, after all! That would be like naming one of her shows, Because You Loved..., but not including "Because You Loved Me." Didn't make sense at all.

i compltely agree with those of you who talked about some of her unreleased songs that whould have made her albums even better some other songs are:

i love you- this song is a mix of a power ballad with a very slight edge in it and is sucha beautiful song with incredible emotion

love is on the way- the vocal strength and emotion in this song is just amazing

AND A POSSIBLE UPCOMING SINGLE THAT MAY NOT BE RELEASED

fade away from taking chances- this song is completely different from the rest of celine's song (she definetly took a chance with this song) and the vocal range is amazing

map to my heart- very sexy

miracle- so beautiful and meaningful

 

also some tracks that never made the album cut like

is nothing sacred anymore- meatloaf stole the song from her because celine too it's all coming back to me now

Maybe If I Could cause is on Miracle album too and cold promote both at same time.

 

 

I love Fever or I Drove all night. The album was released a year after One Heart and still could work well for OH promotion.

Well it's not that wrong, but don't you think that it would have been awesome if Céline did the english and french voices for Beauty/ Belle She could have done a great job!! and a whole different carreer! maybe much more acting! LOL
