Thomas.. i agreed with you 100 % too. thanks for reposting that excert from the book!
One of my favorite parts in the book so far is when they are flying from Miami to Palm Beach and Celine tells to Rene that at 12 years old when she first met him she thought he was the most handsome man she had ever seen. And that she fell in love with him on the spot. And Rene blushes and Celine giggling turns to Denisse and says "men never see us coming". Page 30.
oh Jimena.. i wish you could send me al ittle excert everyday. when did you learn french? my heart sunk when you said Miami to Palm Beach.. i though.. oOoOoh.. maybe my drawing was on that plane too! hahaha. Love that Denise was there the whole time.. and Celine is still so cute when she talks about Rene

Guys, I think you're over thinking this.... I'm sure the books talks both about the bad and the good times during this tour. Of course, when they interview her, journalist try to find out about the bad parts, cause that's what sells the paper, but Denise also wrote about the happy times, the love etc. Of course Celine is not happy all the time, of course she's not only the person we see, you were very naive if you believed that so far.... If she'd be happy all the time, she'd be locked up somewhere under heavy medication :giggle:

I can't wait to get this book. I like it that it's not a cronological thing, but more of observing her personality, like you'd be a fly on the wall of her private life, but without too much gossip.

I totaly agree. She followed Celine the whole tour, so it's not strange. I have days like that on my job! It's normal if you have a creative job and you want to give a 1000% of yourself!

Have you tried amazon.ca or amazon.fr? U.S. amazon probably doesn't have it yet, but it will ship to other countries. If not try chapters.ca I think that's the website, it's the canadian version of borders or barnes and noble.

It's an hour long---too long to write out.

In brief, she talks about Céline's relationship with her voice, that she IS in control of her career (unlike what most think), and the biggest enigma is why Céline doesn't have a big head with all of her success.

Denise also said that Céline's voice is more nuanced in French and in English, Anglophones love the big, strong voice better. No shock that the Denise and the interviewers prefer her Francophone music.

Céline and René also gave her the permission to ask anything.

I'm not being funny but, now a days all things Celine come in both french and english which is great, like the ''A new day...'' dvd, the ''For Keeps'' book, and the upcoming tour book by Gerard.

So wtf....... why not this book???

It annoys me so much!!!!

Just like how that concert in Canada last summer was released on dvd, but without english subtitles , for the non french speaking Celine fans, and now its been renamed and will be released in ''europe'' soon for the (french) speaking Celine fans, its ridiculous...

Europe is a big place and not everyone in europe speaks french, arghhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Its not hard to translate something from french to english, french to spanish, german, italian etc, these days...

It reachs more fans and obviously will boost sales!

So whats the problem?????

Its frustrating and crazy!

I know, it is just annoying! I'm considering getting it in French, but my French is not that good so I might end up reading a different book than the rest of the world... :laugh:

I know, it is just annoying! I'm considering getting it in French, but my French is not that good so I might end up reading a different book than the rest of the world...

Just got the book! It was the only copy at the Chartres FNAC!

The French edition is just the "You and I" picture---soft paperback with photopaper cover. It had a little band at the bottom of extra cover so that one can mark the page.

Beautiful book! Thumbing through it was fun---I can't wait to sit down and read it.
