Can someone please explain what "La gloire est la deuil eclatant du bonheur" means? I get the literal meaning, being something about glory coming when you're missing happiness....but what the???

Is this gonna be a "feel sorry for poor miserable Celine" kind of book? That would suck...

Im praying for a MIRACLE...that something will happen,i don't know just something-the book will have success-and then to be translated in greek also.I don't have a problem with english though,but it would be a nice surprise

No no no, you're absolutely right, 90% of the fanbase just have to blame themselves for not knowing french because OH MY you just CANNOT read a translated book!

 

My GOD, EVERY book loose something when translated into another language.. that doesn't mean there's no feeling whatsoever.. it hasn't even come out yet, let alone in english... christ..

There is no need to be rude about that comment, it's true, everytime something is translated from French to English, it all gets jumbled up and loses most of the specialness. Take most of Celines French songs for example...

 

I really do hope this will be translated though, good or bad traslation is better than nothing at all

Who is "them"? You shouldn't ask the people at www.xoeditions.com, because as that Florence person said they're also trying to have it translated. So that means you should mail every "Australian/American/Canadian/English" publisher......

Sure songs can lose feeling etc when translated - they have to make it fit to the music, rhyme etc. But a book doesn't have those problems so as long as the person/persons translating it are VERY fluent in both languages it shouldn't be a problem. Has anyone here read both english and french versions of Celine's My Story My Dream book and compared them?? Cos its the same principle.

agreed, I dont speak more than a few simple french words and I certainly can't read it so I definetly want an english version. I'm sure the publishers will make sure the translation has the same meaning as the french version. No doubt it will make sense, after all books are translated from english all the time and vice versa and make sense.

If its the official cover,is awesome.I think that we all should calm down and be patient.We'll get english as always and everybody will be pleased and happy so no COMPLAINS more..we shouldn't be against each other or jealous for god sake

It's a shame that it doesn't have a more modern photo from the Taking Chances tournée---this one is 5 years old. But damn, she still looks that great, maybe better.

As for the cover (YAI photo) I think it's great choice! I love it ! Celine did look enchanting in this video...

Although, as it was supposed to be written due to the tour, I thought there would be a tour photo... But with this I'm satisfied.... Better than the one from the 90s
