Your_Su_Phu Posted January 16, 2009 at 12:14 AM Posted January 16, 2009 at 12:14 AM (edited) I used to be a big fan but this girl is annoying now. I'm definitely looking forward to watching the video and hearing the new song but please..my december a critical success? it's not like she's considered on bob dylan's level or whatnot. the songs on my december were musically dissapointing, boring, and lyrically nothing new - simply wannabe retreads of stuff that alanis morisette and others did with more raw emotion and well- TALENT. it's nice the girl is more involved in her music but she's so freaking pretentious it makes me vomit. she compares herself to janis joplin for god's sakes! and her poppy little fans fall for it and they're the only ones who ever buy her "credibility" as a "rock artist". just cos you write some cliched emo lyrics and have guitars and drums doesn't make you a "dark" and "edgy" "credible" "rock artist". and ugh so many of her hardcore fans buy it hook line and sinker and act as if she's some rock messiah VOMIT. sorry for the overload on quotation marks lol I LOOOVE pop and I loved kelly's second album with its obvious pop-rock vibe but janis joplin she ain't Edited January 16, 2009 at 12:24 AM by Your_Su_Phu Quote

Ray Posted January 16, 2009 at 09:53 PM Posted January 16, 2009 at 09:53 PM I only started to like Kelly Clarkson because of "Behind these hazel eyes" and "Because of you". Those hits made me buy the album. And of course "Since u been gone" is also a great song. The rest of the album was not for me. To much rock. Then there was "Never again" which I liked. But after listening to "My December" I lost interest. I find the album awful. I like her new song. It reminds me a lot of "Since u been gone" and "Never again". I do hope she has some great ballads as well, like "Because of you". If this is to be another rock album, I will let it pass again... Black Kitten Posted January 17, 2009 at 12:22 AM Posted January 17, 2009 at 12:22 AM i think rock music is her comfort zone. it's what she does best. but in My December, that was not the case. it has few good songs (Never Again & Irvine), but the rest are hideous and the music is pfffff i love Breakaway because that was her most consistent album, and all in all, it's a definitive "idol" album. this is what an AI alum's album should possess. consistency. she has a topnotch vocals and a great team to back her up. she can do much better. i'm really looking forward to this new album. i love the first single. SensationalCeline Posted January 17, 2009 at 08:53 PM Posted January 17, 2009 at 08:53 PM I really wasn't impressed with her My December album...only a few songs were good so we'll see about this one. Quote http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg280/spoiledrottenbrat4063/Celine%20Dion/CELINESIGGY.jpg
disadiva Posted January 19, 2009 at 11:50 AM Posted January 19, 2009 at 11:50 AM Kelly is one off my favorit singers she has a great voice im not much off a fan of rock but she made me love her type of Rock songs produced by John Shanks and Max Martin... Kelly is also to me the Best American Idol Winner ever..she won in december 2002...next to her i would say..Jordin Sparks. Quote http://i46.tinypic.com/2nvtcpl.jpg
Lymon Posted January 19, 2009 at 05:19 PM Posted January 19, 2009 at 05:19 PM I, personally, liked My December a lot. I thought it was very brave of Kelly to stand up to her record company and to say that she wants to sing the music she wants to, and not sing what they want her to. It shows she wants artistic control over what she does. As for the new single, i'm not a real fan of it. It sounds pretty generic. Quote http://i51.tinypic.com/2uf4r5f.png
Bradders Posted January 19, 2009 at 07:47 PM Posted January 19, 2009 at 07:47 PM Kelly Clarkson has revealed that she struggled to recognise herself on her new album cover. The singer admitted that she loves the artwork on All I Ever Wanted because she looks "nothing like me". "We decided the cover of the album and just in case you haven't seen it I'll post it!" she wrote on her blog. "Its very colourful and they have definitely Photoshopped the crap out of me - but I don't care, haha! "Whoever she is, she looks great, ha! I've had so much fun with this album; I really hope y'all dig it woohooooooooooo!!!!"She confirms my thoughts on the photoshopping Quote

dj4celine Posted January 28, 2009 at 01:01 AM Posted January 28, 2009 at 01:01 AM I wouldn't call this album a comeback of any sorts because she never left. So what that "My December" didn't match up to the sales of "Breakaway", it was a critical success and the fans loved it. Kelly herself said that her third album was some sort of an emotional autobiography and she proved that she is an artist with that album. She didn't let her label take her down. "My December" is my fav. album from Kelly yet so I may be a biased towards it. I wish someday Celine would be like Kelly someday and choose the songs that need to be put on the album instead of letting Sony decide which ones But this is just wishful thinking. Her new album sounds promising but as per some people who've worked with her, it brings her back to her Pop/Pop-Rock sound which works very well for her. Totally looking forward to it. But yes, an artist who never went away isn't gonna have a "comeback" but this album brings her back to her record-label-satisfying mode so As for "My December" being a flop, selling over 2 million copies with almost no promotion and radio support and a conflict between Clive Davis(which is a in the music industry) is not a flop. ''My December'' barely sold 1.5 million copies worldwide. That's what I call a flop. http://www.worldwidealbums.net/2007.htm Gab, I'll give links to my argument that MD sold over 2 million soon (exams and stuff keeping me a bit busy these days) But don't trust that site too much. It's a point-based site and one can't totally get the sales from there. Besides, it doesn't count a lot of countries I think even Vinny or Ronny would agree with me on this one Quote

dj4celine Posted January 28, 2009 at 08:18 PM Posted January 28, 2009 at 08:18 PM (edited) Kelly Clarkson Breaks Record For Hot 100 Jump http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/photos/stylus/49608-clarkson_kelly_02l.gifSilvio Pietroluongo, N.Y. Kelly Clarkson will make history on this week's Billboard Hot 100, to be posted tomorrow (Jan. 29) on Billboard.com, with the largest leap to No. 1 in the chart's 50-year history. Her new single, "My Life Would Suck Without You," is set to rocket 97-1 after selling 280,000 digital downloads in its first week of availability. The song is also faring well at radio, jumping 58-38 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart and 27-18 on the Mainstream Top 40 list. "My Life" introduces Clarkson's March 17 RCA album "All I Ever Wanted." This is the second time the artist has set the record for largest jump to No. 1. She took her "American Idol" victory song, "A Moment Like This," 52-1 on the chart dated October 5, 2002. That mark lasted nearly five years until Maroon 5 soared 64-1 with "Makes Me Wonder" in May 2007 and had been broken four more times since, most recently by Britney Spears' "Womanizer" (96-1). "My Life" is Clarkson's first No. 1 since her debut single, though she has placed six other songs in the top 10 during this time, including the No. 2-peaking "Since U Been Gone" in April 2005. "Never Again", the first single from her last set, the relatively poor performing "My December," opened at No. 8 on the Hot 100 in the May 5, 2007, issue, starting with 107,000 downloads, and spending a total of two weeks in the top 10. Go Kelly!! Edited January 28, 2009 at 08:25 PM by dj4celine Quote

It's a point-based site and one can't totally get the sales from there. Besides, it doesn't count a lot of countries I think even Vinny or Ronny would agree with me on this one MD has sold 782.000 copies in the United States, (according to Nielsen SoundScan.) http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/kelly-...003928894.story 70.000 in Australia (certified 1x platinum) 100.000 in Canada (certified 1x platinum) 180.000 in the UK (certified gold) 7.500 in Ireland (certified gold) BTW, MD peaked at #5 on the European Top 100 Albums but only charted 7 weeks. These are the real sales numbers and certifications for the countries above. That's why I highly doubt it sold over 2.000.000 copies worldwide because it flopped hard in both Europe and Asia. LuisMa Posted February 3, 2009 at 05:01 PM Posted February 3, 2009 at 05:01 PM I guess she will still be number one this week, as the challengers are losing steam on the airplay chart. Plus, the week's top debuting single, "Prom Queen" by Lil' Wayne, can't get past the number 2 spot in iTunes, and its airplay is minimal compared to Kelly's. Quote
