I listened to the album and it's not bad.... though at first listen the songs are a bit bland... People can complain about TC and ANDHC, but those different music styles does make an album diverse....

 

 

The song I don't like is My Ring, those cheap drum beats!! they are used soooo much in 'black' music... I dunno who invented those, but I find them cheap an annoying!

 

I like the songs till Wardrobe, after that they're not so good IMO, except for Melt

I think Toni's voice is much more beautiful than Beyoncé.... It's a real pity she never had any big hits after Unbreak My Heart...

I totaly agree with you. And, by the way, I have to say that for me 'Pulse' is the kind of album Whitney Houston needed for her so-called 'great comeback' but she was actually...disappointing.

I saw Toni in concert at the Flamingo when she was in LV, and the concert was really good. Its great to see her back on tv over here too.

Between the recession, the crumbling music industry, and the fact that people haven’t been listening to her since Beyonce was in Destiny’s Child, Toni Braxton probably knew it was time to tighten her belt. But apparently she didn’t know that belt should be from the Hobo’s Choice line at Value Village, because the 43-year-old has filed for bankruptcy, TMZ reports. Again. People really need to stop giving this woman loans.

Toni can’t even tell you how deep in debt she is. She guesses it’s somewhere between $10 and $50 million and she estimates she’s worth only $1 to $10 million. She has unpaid bills to both superstar luxuries like the Four Seasons and pedestrian expenses like AT&T.

 

She also owes, hmm, let’s see, everyone. Creditors include Mesa Air Conditioning, SAG, the William Morris Agency, DirecTV, Wells Fargo Bank, the California DMV, the Nevada DMV, Tiffanys, Neiman Marcus, BMW Financial Services, American Express, the Flamingo Hotel, Orkin Pest Control, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and the IRS. What has SAG ever done for her anyway?

 

When Toni went bankrupt in 1998, she blamed bad financial advice and hidden expenses (she was paying for all her own gowns, nevermind that designers are begging you to wear there’s for free). This time, she blames a bad deal with the promoters of her Las Vegas show. She pulled out because of heart problems, and her insurance didn’t cover the missed dates, a member of Toni’s family told TMZ.

 

I don’t know what Toni thinks she’s going to do for money now. Her last album sold under 100,000 copies, which is pretty depressing considering Ashlee Simpson’s last album sold 300,000 copies. She’s already been on Dancing With The Stars. She’s already done Vegas. She’s already done Broadway. She’s already done Blue’s Clues. I foresee some cold, dark, Tiffanys-less days ahead for this lady. So if you ever wanted Toni Braxton to sing at your wedding, birthday, or pumpkin festival, this is a good time to make a deal.

Her CD didn't sell cause of bad promotion, I barely saw her Cd her in Portugal for example

I guess her career is over, it's weird because there were some good songs on her latest album.

It depends on promotion to, and i think she is spending more money than she had

Her latest album "Pulse" is so good... she really has bad luck. I feel sorry for her and wish her the best. And if you like good music then grab a copy of her latest record. In my opinion the best R&B record of the year so far.

no way, when I was in Vegas in 2007, she was still performing there!

The show became the first headlining show from an African American performer in Las Vegas to enter the top ten Vegas shows charting. Due to the success of the show, it was reported that Braxton would extend her show through August 2008. The singer subsequently took time off after being hospitalized for chest pains in April 2008.[citation needed] The show was later cancelled, and it was announced that the show was officially shut down in order for the singer to focus on her health.

it's false to blaim the show for her bankruptcy, because it did fairly well... it was prolongued, but it was ended earlier due to her 'heath'... but I doubt that would have cost her a lot of money (I can only image she already spend the money she got for those shows! )

I have been listening to Toni's music a lot lately. My favorites are "Breath again", "Unbreak my heart" "He wasn't man enough for me" but of course I like all of her songs basically. It's a shame she isn't as big as she used to be. It would be cool to see her and Celine do a duet together.
