Unfortunately, today there's not much to talk about 7", 12", card or jewelcase, not even promos, because they're stopping the production!

Uhhh I can't believe they're doing that. I don't think they'll completely stop tho . Altho u would think it would be cheeper for them to just send digital files to radio stations?

Unfortunately, yes. Everything is going into digital today, and of course its cheaper to send the audio track by email to radio stations than spending money in a CD, printing the artwork etc.

 

There are still promos today, even commercial cd singles, but less and less each day. You see how look cd promos today, they're sent in PVC plastic sleeves with a white sleeve, they don't even care to print an artwork.

They're not profitable anymore for recording companies

That's really sad. I love singles!

This has probably been asked before, but is the 3 track French Taking Chances single a card single, and the 5 track french single in a jewel case? It's just that the Collectors Guide says they're both plastic and thepowerofthemusic.com only has the 3 track one and says it's card.

Thanks. I've been looking on Amazon.fr and Amazon.de this morning looking for the Taking Chances singles, and the only one they have on Amazon.fr is the 5 track maxi, and on Amazon.de they have the 4 track one and the 2 track german jewel case version. I can't find the 2 track card single anywhere!

 

It's weird how these siongles are harder to find than stuff from 10 years ago!

I still myself for not getting that card sleeve on fnac.fr back then!! with JNVOP there were loads left in the store, way after it's release... I'd figured the card sleeve of TC would be in stores too, during the concerts... but nothing! It's even more rare then the promo!

I know! I can't find the 2 track or the 3 track card sleeve singles anywhere! I can find the others ok though.

According to the Collectors Guide and John's Discography site, yes.

 

But none of the Amazon sites I've looked on show any signs of it existing, which is weird cos Amazon.fr have listed all the other TC singles, including the french 3 track card one, despite it being out of stock...
