This may or may not be true. In my view, though, her best TV interview moments have been with David Letterman. Check out on YouTube one video from an appearance circa 1998-99, just after Celine's spectacular success with Titanic, where she is funny and spontaneous and quite charming. The audience loved it. On the Tonight Show, Celine is somewhat more reserved and predictable. You know, if the interviewer lets her, she tends to say the same things about family and career that we've all heard before. In a way, I don't blame Celine for regularly dipping into her bag of stock responses - at this point in her career, most promotional appearances must be torture for her. Of course, she would never admit this, and the fact that she is so gracious and good-natured in interviews and with fans is a credit to her character. That said, whatever you do on the Tonight Show next week, Celine, please just don't sing My Heart Will Go On. That is my only request. Quote

It's so sad what has become of her promotional appearances that we all know deep down it will be either My Love or Love Can Move Mountains that we all obsess and exaggerate about the countless other possibilities whose probability equals less than zero. She does not care any more and she will not want to prove herself by singing a song like With This Tear, This Time or Why Oh Why which she forgot about the moment she went out of the recording studio. That's right and even more than that Céline used to have kind of a special "status" on Jay's show in the 90's. Many times Céline sang two songs during the show. Jay once said Céline was the only one he let sing two songs and the only other would be Babs if she came on his show. In the past It was wonderful for that and I miss those good times....everything is done in a hurry now. I hope she's able to chat a little bit at least. As far as I'm concern she can sing whatever she wants. Quote
