Songs you hated or disliked, but now love?

Of course not every song that Céline makes can be loved by everyone, but sometimes a song does grow on you, because you saw it live, or because it gave a new meaning to you...

 

I didn't like I got the world on a string when I first heard it, but after seeing it live in Vegas, with all the stuff that happened arround me, I began to like it, and now I love the song very much.

 

Also with The Show Must Go On, I didn't really 'dig' it, but after I saw it in the show, I really love it and I think it's actually the best song of the whole TCWT!!

 

When I first got D'elles... I kept on skipping La Diva and Lettre de... but now I really like La Diva, especially cos I know more about Céline's relationship towards Maria Callas, it's now one of my fav tracks of the album!

 

And I'm sorry but one song that I hate/love is Love can move mountains, I hate it that she keeps on performing it, though she has other upbeat songs, but everytime I hear it live, I can't help loving it!

Well when I first heard Le ballet, I didn't like it. I didn't really listen to it ever and I didn't really like when she sang it in concerts (on video). But then, some time for some reason, I don't remember when or why, I suddenly started to "dig" it! It's really strange, cause nowadays I think it's absolutely a magnificent song, one of my French favourites even! But I don't know why this happened, I guess it must have just grown on me!

 

Also exactly the same thing happened with Tous les blues sont écrits pour toi. When I first got the album, I never listened to that one cause I didn't like it at all. (There's something a little similar between this one and Le ballet, I think) But now I find it extremely good, it's magnificent, it's a very powerful song and so great vocally too! So this one too sort of grew on me cause I don't have any special reason why I suddenly started to like it.

My Love! at first listen, it didn't impress me the way her other songs did. FILLER! but when celine sang it live with such raw emotion, it has become one of my favorites from her.

Hey! I used to always skip NEW DAWN until i came across the lyrics by chance and they really got me! I listened to the song again and fell in love with it!x

i don't know why i didn't like it maybe because it's another language?? or maybe becuase my english wasn't good at all... or so.....

Well, at first I didn't really like 'I Surrender'. And to be honest earlier I was far from being fond of "Call The Man". What a sin But I seem to be fine whe I recall my best friend who's a diehard Celine fan and who absolutely dislikes "Falling Into You". You knwo, for me this song sounds so enigmatic and really enchanting... But for my friend it sounds boring Well, tastes differ. And i'm still waiting when the times comes when i start to like "Think Twice" cuz i don't see anth at all special about the song.

HYEBIL was always a track I skipped on ANDHC but on OH for some reason I really liked it. RDMH never really got me going until Vegas and seeing her perform it- I think that's the problem- it takes her to perform a song live for it to become real and Celineified- I so wish she had sang 'Us' and 'Miles To Go'

The first time I heard I Got Nothin' Left I didn't like it and I dont know what made me change my mind but now I love it!

 

And I still dont like Falling Into You and Forget Me Not - I dont know if I will ever come to love them!

I couldn't stand That's Just The Woman In Me when I first heard it. I thought her voice was horrible and the song was one of her worst. But later I came to find the song brilliant, and I really started to dig Celine's raspy, sexy vocals. I wasn't a huge I Love You fan either at first, but now I like it a lot. I also didn't get what people found so special about On s'est aime a cause at first. I didn't like it too much, I much preferred A cause. Later I came to love On s'est aime a cause a lot, but I still like A cause more, I think.

 

Songs you wil never get me to like are Love Is On The Way, Because You Loved Me and the album versions of Faith and One Heart

Hmm... I used to hate Terre and Dans un autre monde on SISDA when I first got it back in '98, but then I got to love them!

There are actually now only two songs of Celine's I absolutely abhore and I always skip - Lettre de... and New Dawn.

Well...

I didn't like Shadow Of Love until I listened to it 34 times.

I skipped Miles To Go all the time until I read the lyrics... bit weird

Rain, Tax was my least favorite at one time until I listened to it more purposely.

 

I still don't like... Skies Of L.A. , Have You Ever Been In Love? , Why Oh Why , All the Way , I Got Nothin' Left , I Hate You Then I Love You and A Song for You

And the violin in At Last gives me headache I would have preferred it a cappella

I almost always skip the song I've got the world on a string and at last I just don't like either of them.

I pretty much love the entire TC album except for skies of l.a.,new dawn and a song for you it's just tooo slow for me.I don't really care for the woman in me either. I really wish their was a video for ten days and rain tax =)
