So while searching for Celiney stuff, I found this list, and it lists the Top 20 Dorkiest Obsessions. Celine is #9. Here is what they say about her:

 

Our hearts might have gone on at one point, but Celine Dion is much better known for annoying the crap out of anyone in earshot under 65 years old. So why are some people just completely obsessed? Is it the French-Canadian-ism? Is it her being married to a man old enough to be her father? Both good reasons, we guess ... to never speak to her fans again.

I know they probably ment the obsessed question as a rhetorical one, but i'd like to answer it in a few parts

 

1. She's not a skank like Miley Cyrus

 

2. She doesn't have a whiny voice like any of the Jonas Brothers

 

3. She actually sings about important things unlike most teen singers who only sing about

 

- A"ttly hawt guy that will never like me cuz im ugleh"

- A "gurl who broke up with meh for a jock so im emo"

- "Nbdy understands meh becuz every1 is poplar nd hawt but meh"

- "Parents r so ttly evil they ruin everythin"

- "if i believe im good enough then im good enough"

 

4. Can actually hold a note unlike any teen singer on the Disney Channel, or most teen singers, to state that fact

 

5. She's actually attractive, unlike most teen singers who are about as attractive as an unphotoshopped Madonna photo(ex: Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens)

 

Stupid teens. I'm ashamed to be in the same age group as them :glare:

What really annoys me is that they generalize sooo much! :nono: Why can't you be teenager and a

fan of Céline at the same time?! :shrug: Just because some of us are able to think deeper

than just parties, sex and alcohol.... :glare: I have too agree with you that sometimes it's almost

embarrassing to know that they are in the same age group as yourself. :ermm:

 

Anyway, when I hear these things it actually just makes me love Céline even more. :in_love: It also makes

me think about how immature these kids are! And it makes me feel like laughing, too! :sofunny:

She pretty much just said everything I was going to say! HAHAHA. It really does disgust me to be in that group sometimes also, but just like her, it makes me love Celine EVEN more. And because of my clever ways, I'm beginning to make my friends fans of hers!! :claps: I show that she's not just a voice, but she's also an absolutely incredible person, and because I showed how true, loving, and hilarious she is, my friends LIKE HER NOW!! :giggle: :thumbsup2:

When I was a teen, all I thought about was sex, parties, alcohol, and Celine! Of course, thats probably why I'm in a dead-end career, but whatever.... :doh: Stay in school kiddos!! :msn-wink:

None of those teen singers could be compared to Celine, she's in a totally different catagory that's all her own. I'll admit I like a few songs from those mentioned (disney stars) but I've already gotten fed up of them :giggle: I've been a Celine nut since I was 9 (now I feel old) I'm 19 now and I really didn't care what anyone thought about it. Celine is for everyone, and anyone who says her music is for old people, as said before, doesn't have good taste in music!

Teenage bands like Nsync / BSB are just artificial. They lack the deep meaningful art of true artist like our talented Céline. But those bands are a huge industry money wise.

 

Céline did sing TTWII with Nsync though...but that's in the past :) I guess Rene / Sony wanted to have their share from that huge teenage market $$$$

 

Nsync lasted what 5 years? Celine has been in showbiz for 25+ years...and like the energizer bunny keeps going and going and going... :)

I love Celine cause she is definately the best female singer out there since always and is a example of person/woman/mother.

Celine has a GREAT voice everyone knows that, but so does Whitney, Mariah and others but Celine has Values and believe it or NOT those great family values and kindess makes her singing voice sound even better!!!

I stopped caring, for the most part, what anyone though of anyone I'm a fan of ages ago. The only thing that getting offended over every rude comment made about Celine or whoever ever did was raise my blood pressure and make me embarassed to admit to the love, which is not good. :nono: I'm a lot less embarassed of my obsessions now that I've quit caring what people think. Let 'em hate Celine. She's laughing all the way to the bank, I doubt she cares what some teen blog or whatever thinks of her. :giggle:

i kind of agree; they shouldn't compare her to those other artists because there's a huge difference between being a 17 year old and a 35-40 year old. (i don't know how old celine is..i wanna say 40ish but don't want to offend! :P) i have an obessession with true divas, that prove they can stand the test of time. i love love love barbra streisand's voice, whitney houseton, celine. i love the power in these songs, to me, they truly sing without restraint and there is soooo much emotion that makes you feel and want to feel more. just my opinion. disney channel stars got nothin' on that! ;)

i don't know, but since i was a teenager (that's not too long ago LOL), i've been a huge celine fan. but sadly, this HS Musical thingy is getting a little out of hand. today's music is full of talentless artists. many artists ("cough" LIL WAYNE "cough", "ehem" TI "ehem") are just rapping crazily as if they're drunk, and their albums will easily go to the top spot. what a let down. while some amazing artists are suffering big time because of these crappy music.
