The ANDHC video cost 1 MILLION FREAKING dollars

I can't believe.

 

Céline's team pays 1 million for SUCHA mediocrity it hurts while the video to PQTME cost like 20 000 francs MAX and is her most amazing to date.

 

So sad to see them waste so much money that could have been speant let's say on...promotion of the damn album?

 

Is it me or have the quality of music videos gone way down in the past few years? New videos look very cheaply made. A sign o' the times for the music industry?

Über-director Dave Meyers, who directed Missy Elliott's 3-D blowout "Ching-a-Ling," recently told the Boston Globe that video budgets have dropped from roughly $1 million (for a major-label star) to an average maximum of $400,000. ("Ching-a-Ling" is an obvious exception.) Examples of the bygone $1 million videos include Britney Spears' "Boys," Celine Dion's "A New Day Will Come" and Shakira's "Objection."

 

 

I mean a big WTF towards Céline and her absolutely hideously unimaginative and wasteful team of ppl.

Well, Celine's videos are not great overall, but there are quite many exceptions

One of them is ANDHC. I like that video, I think it's great

I also like "If walls could talk", "Contre nature" and IACBTMN, all of them must have costed close to that figure too.

My fav video of Celine is, however, "Et s'il n'en restait qu'une", I think it's amazing.

It features different stories, with lots of actors performing. I like the asian couple, when she cries in the shower at the sound of ..."let the rain come down and wash away your tears" awhhhh love it

Only the quality of her music vidoes has gone down? Well, we have exceptions like the videos shooted for All The Way, the old 1990-1996 videos...

 

I won't be surprised if we discover later that IDAN costed 1,5 million dollars

 

But many things she does has gone down in quality aspect, except her working schedule with the current WT, which is frenetic and very busy (hello? do you see a contradiction here??). I still can't understand why she had to tour the world at this crazy speed, with so many concerts concentrated in the same countries (France, USA and Canada...), and not less concerts but more well distributed I prefer a thousand times no world tour, or a small tour, but a year of promotion like 2002, supporting her music and paying tribute to her efforts in the studio

You must not know how much special effects can cost then. They are very expensive, a lot more than you would think and ANDHC is loaded with them.

I agree with William2005 on this one, Bellamy. The SFX must have cost her hundreds of thousands. Then there is the name attached to the video- Celine Dion. Dave Meyers defo would charge that much from an A-list artist.

 

Her post-2000 videos (almost all) are full of special effects even though there is no story or hardly any relevance to the song attached. Worst example is HYEBIL. I mean

 

 

But going back to Seb's point, I kind of disagree with him on this one (yeah, bring on the Sainkho) but ANDHC was beautiful IMO

Perhaps the actors. And the setting in the city. You never know.. the setting is what looked expensive...
