Jacqui Posted September 28, 2008 at 05:39 AM Posted September 28, 2008 at 05:39 AM Ok. I've been arguing over these somewhat trivial subjects with people in my life for about a year. So I'm interested in hearing some people's perspectives lol. 1. What is the latest time at night that you would call someone, who is not a friend or family member? (on their home phone, not cell phone.) Because my boss has made a habit of calling me at 10pm, and it's really starting to irritate me and my family. My Mama always taught me that it's rude to phone anyone after 8.30pm unless it's an emergency or they're expecting your call, because you never know if they have a child or elderly relative sleeping in the house. We thought that maybe it's a cultural thing, because she's from Korea and only just moved to Australia? So maybe that's normal in other parts of the world? Let me know! 2. Is it ok to eat in your bedroom? I think it's 100% fine and a normal thing to do. But it makes my Mother sooooo angry. I don't know why. Nobody else eats at the table- they sit in front of the Tv in the living room. So it's not like I'm abandoning my family at meal times. Quote
Angel, You thrill me Posted September 28, 2008 at 05:59 AM Posted September 28, 2008 at 05:59 AM (edited) 1. lol, i dont think its right, anywhere in the world to call someone at 10 pm, much less someone who you are not related to, or friends with, so your right in being irritated. The latest i would call someone im not related to, or friends with would also be at about 8:30 , but sometimes i talk with friends from school to about 3 am And 2, I always eat in my room lol, we only eat at the table on thanksgiving lol, my mom is watching her soap operas, my dad watching sports , and my brothers playing video games, while im watching E! news lol Edited September 28, 2008 at 06:08 AM by Angel125 Quote http://www.lady-gaga.net/images/layout11/2.pngAlejandro Alejandro ALEALEJANDRO ALEALEJANDROOO

Petra5 Posted September 28, 2008 at 09:55 AM Posted September 28, 2008 at 09:55 AM (edited) 1. at last 9pm, but if my real friend really needs help later, i'm there 2. eat wherever you want Edited September 28, 2008 at 09:56 AM by xxROSExx Quote ...it's stupid
Black Kitten Posted September 28, 2008 at 10:22 AM Posted September 28, 2008 at 10:22 AM (edited) 1. i guess my latest is around 9-10pm. i normally sleep @ 1am, so they can call me anytime before 1. i don't have landline in my room, and my cellphone is always on a silent mode, so phone calls doesn't bother me at all. 2. i do eat inside my bedroom, but never in my BED. small food particles (especially sweet foods) attract ants, and i hate them! that's why i don't eat in my bed. and oh! LOL!, i don't eat inside any public vehicle. i really hate being stared at while eating, that's why eating inside a public vehicle is a no no for me. it's very annoying. I Surrender Posted September 28, 2008 at 01:23 PM Posted September 28, 2008 at 01:23 PM 1. 10 pm is way too late to call someone if its not a friend or family member. LuisMa Posted September 28, 2008 at 05:08 PM Posted September 28, 2008 at 05:08 PM I think 9:00 is ok. I used to call my best friend at 11:00 at the latest, but he was ok with it. Now, if you don't live in a tropical climate where you can get ants inside your bedroom then I think it's ok for you to eat there. Quote
angeluk2 Posted September 28, 2008 at 09:38 PM Posted September 28, 2008 at 09:38 PM 1) I absolutely HATE anyone ringing after 9pm let alone 10!Unless it is an emergency, i get really pi**ed off with people who ring after this time. Most people know this about me though so i dont get bothered too much 2) ok here is where the weirdness starts.I think when you become a mum something in your brain clicks into mum mode and some of your thoughts change. When i was younger my mum hated me eating anything in my room but i didnt understand why.I didnt care about it when i moved out,i ate in my room.BUT i then had a son and he wants to now eat in his room sometimes and i(for some unknown reason)wont let him and think it is wrong. He does take things like candy, etc up to his room but a cooked meal is a no no.I cant explain it other than i dont want to see him get food all over his carpet and stuff.well thats my 2 cents worth anyway Quote CHOCOLATE is the answer....I don't give a damn what the question was!
VintageCeline Posted September 28, 2008 at 09:55 PM Posted September 28, 2008 at 09:55 PM LOL! 1. I don't have a set time of not to call someone, but usually people know that I'm not an early sleeper (and two nights of the week I am working till 11pm) so they call me late - Which I don't mind.I would text someone first though to see if it was too late. 2.I eat in my room all the time, like when I'm feeling lazy and tired still, I'll get up and make my cereal and eat it in bed. I think as long as I take the plates/bowls out of my room them its all good haha. x Quote http://24.media.tumblr.com/94198518f8a09aef1d336d6fde8fc8b3/tumblr_mkdcezs36X1r7lwiso1_400.jpg

KimboCosmo Posted September 28, 2008 at 11:16 PM Posted September 28, 2008 at 11:16 PM 1. Not past 9 or 10 if you do not know the person personally. I get calls all the way up until 3am...but on my cell phone from friends, and they only call me if they knew earlier that I was going to be up late. They don't call if they know I'm in bed. 2. Eat wherever, as long as you aren't gross with it and leave dishes and nastiness stacked up to the ceiling with bugs crawling all over it and fuzzy creatures growing out of the food left on the dishes. If you clean up afterwards, then no problem! Steph--xO Posted September 29, 2008 at 03:53 PM Posted September 29, 2008 at 03:53 PM 1. I'm not the kind of person who goes to bed early so i dont mind what time people phone me but my mum gets annoyed if its to late. Normally 9.30 - 10 is the latest for me but im bad for phoning people to late so im tryin to stop that habbit. 2. I eat in my bedroom a lot becuase im normaly in my room watchin TV or online so its easier but i hate when my brother or sister eats in my room because they leave everything there, it really annoys me but i dont think there is an overall problem with eating in your room Quote http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii234/AS--Xx/Cdd-1.jpg _______________________________________________________________________________ ♥ "if you follow your dreams, i dont think you can go wrong." grobandion Posted September 29, 2008 at 05:20 PM Posted September 29, 2008 at 05:20 PM Hi there 1 - I think after 9 PM it's unappropiate to call s.o. 2 - I'm with Cath on this.My kids are too small now, but I won't let them eat in their rooms. I believe dinner time is the only time when the whole family is together, so everyone should eat together , in the kitchen in my case.I used to eat at my room when I was single, but I hate eating in bed...Because of the "miguitas" (sorry, dunno the word in English) maybe LuisMa could help me... WallsDoTalk Posted September 29, 2008 at 07:28 PM Posted September 29, 2008 at 07:28 PM 1 - I would say after 9 PM it's not right to call someone, unless you're very intimate with. 2 - I LOVE eating in my room...I don't see why the fuzz about it Quote

Jacqui Posted September 30, 2008 at 04:04 AM Author Posted September 30, 2008 at 04:04 AM Thanks everyone I don't eat in my bed either, only at my desk if I'm using the computer, or sitting in my beanbag while I watch DVDs. And I always clean up straight away- I have a major fear of bugs so I would never risk attracting them to my room!! I would eat at the table if the rest of my family did- but they don't, so what would be the point of sitting alone at the table!? Quote
KimboCosmo Posted September 30, 2008 at 04:09 AM Posted September 30, 2008 at 04:09 AM There isn't one...my family doesn't either...unless it is Thanksgiving or Christmas! Jacqui Posted September 30, 2008 at 04:12 AM Author Posted September 30, 2008 at 04:12 AM Yeah, special occassions are different. That's fun and traditional, to all be together. But I refuse to sit at the table bored and alone. And then she complains that because I refuse to do so, I am "disrespecting" her. Ahhh get over it Mum. Quote
KimboCosmo Posted September 30, 2008 at 04:15 AM Posted September 30, 2008 at 04:15 AM So she wants you to eat at the table? By yourself? KimboCosmo Posted September 30, 2008 at 04:31 AM Posted September 30, 2008 at 04:31 AM That doesn't make any sense. It would only be disrespectful if they were eating at the table and asked you to, and then you didn't. Jacqui Posted September 30, 2008 at 04:36 AM Author Posted September 30, 2008 at 04:36 AM Exactly. My Grandpa eats at the table, and sometimes Mum sits with him- but he has dinner at like, 4pm (and talks about bodily functions at the dinner table.) I'm not usually home then, and even if I was I don't want to be grossed out while I'm trying to eat. Dad and Matt sit on the couch and eat while watching TV. How is that so different from me watching Tv and having dinner in my room? Quote
KimboCosmo Posted September 30, 2008 at 04:39 AM Posted September 30, 2008 at 04:39 AM It's not...I don't know why, but it sounds like she is being harder on you for some reason. Jacqui Posted September 30, 2008 at 05:07 AM Author Posted September 30, 2008 at 05:07 AM Maybe because I'm a girl and they are boys? They get away with so much. They never do anything around the house either, and she never criticizes them for not helping, but if I don't help, I get yelled at. I must talk to her about this, again. Just not today, she's been at the hospital for 14 hours and she's only slept 1 hour in the past 2 days. I wanna take a nap just thinking about it Quote
