Well... you probably havent seen me around her much. I'm not new. I just don't often have internet =( I'm from spartanburg sc (usa) And I've loved Celine since i was 8! now im 21! I've only been to see her one and that was in Las Vegas in 2005. I've entered every contest I can think of to win anything.. or even a chance to meet her! Now i'm going to see her twice in the TC world tour - Once in Atlanta Georgia, and another in Raliegh NC. I;m going by myself to GA so it would be great if I could find someone here that I could meet up with or just have some support. I feel so silly cause I've believed for so long that I would meet her and it all seems untouchable at this point. I see your photos with her and autographs and those are things that only happen in my dreams. I even have a letter for her that I wish i could give to a guard at the concert to pass on but even that seems unlikely. I dont have alot of money and these 3 concerts alone are on my credit card.. i feel like its my last chance =( I even started a facebook group to get people to add to it and maybe when it got big enough Oprah or Ellen might catch and understand- ughh.. Please - give me some hope.. welcome me with open arms..

Don't lose hope. It happens when you least expect it. I met her on saturday, and I never thought I would be so lucky ethier. I did the same as you with oprah and ellen too. Hahah I don't think that stuff ever works unless you know someone that knows oprah. Where are you sitting at these shows, maybe you'll be near where she exits? Or at least close enough to give her bodyguard a letter. I also noticed that Michael, her brother, breaks down the set after the show, so if you are able to walk down to the bottom and give him a letter, that also may work. Or find out her hotel and wait outside. I myself, don't like to do that though, I feel sort as if I"m stalking and invading personal space...but she doesn't usually seem to mind. I might try that this saturday, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. We all want to meet her, you're not the only one. You just have to find the right opportunity. Don't give up on it. It's worth the wait, I swear to you. :)

I NEVER thought i'd meet her or get her autograph. Guess what?! I did! I grabber her hand, told her she was amazing, and got her autograph just like THAT! I too waited at the hotel.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I met her as she was exiting, so not very intimate because there were 1000's of people watching. haha. I didn't get a photo or autograph either, but it was just an amazing moment. I got to tell her how much the show meant to me, and she hugged and kissed me on the cheek and held my face in her hands. No matter the setting, the moment will be to die for haha. Sometimes you can walk down to the floor from the section you are in. I've seen a few people do that. If you are the first section up that connects to the floor I mean. After River Deep Mountain High, keep a look out for where all the guards are lining up. That's your best giveaway to where she is coming out. :msn-wink: Hopefully its on your side. I was lucky enough to be the seat right next to where she was exiting.

I never thought I would see her live, after admiring her since I was a little girl. Then I did - ten times! Three of those times, in the front row. I've met so many wonderful people, had my big moment with Céline at the end of my last A New Day... show, and got invited to the Oprah show taping last year. (It's all in my blog: http://ashleylovescelinedion.blogspot.com)

Dreams do come true, things do happen. Of course, you have to recognize the opportunities when they appear, but for the most part it's just being at the right place at the right time, meeting the right people - that makes all the difference. Just keep praying, hoping, and thinking positively, and if it's meant to be it will happen. As someone said, it always happens when you least expect it. :)

Make sure you call him Michel (pronounced Michelle), if you catch him. ;) He's one of the kindest people I've ever met - I'm sure he will deliver your letter if you ask.

I agree completely, I met her last year outside a public bathroom at Rock Center. Totally random, I just really needed to take a piss and that was the result.

I know how you feel! I'm 22 and have been a fan since I was 6! I've attended 2 LTAL concerts, 4 ANDs, and now I'm going to Columbus, Cleveland, and Detroit for the Chances tour. I want to meet her more than anything in the world. For those that have met her, can you give us "normal" folks some advice? Is it best to go to the hotel before and after? Is it a good idea to try to find her limo while the show's getting out and try to meet her after the show? or is it best to head straight to the hotel? How do you know hotel? I know there's a Ritz in Cleveland, but I have no idea what hotel for Columbus or Detroit. Does she always exit on the same side of the arena? Is it a good idea just to walk up to the stage and try to give her flowers? I bought a frog with my university's mascot on a t-shirt.

I even spent way too many paychecks on the soundcheck package for Detroit, but it sounds like no one has met her through that.

Sorry for all the questions! Any help is greatly appreciated!

aw, what a nice thread! :D It's so amazing to see Celine fans and their journeys. :)

Chelsey, I sort of feel where you're coming from because I've been a fan pretty much the same time as you have been lol, from 9 to 21 now. And I saw Celine in Vegas the first time in 2004! ^_^ I've personally never met Celine. But I still think it could happen, one day! The most I've done is held her around her waist as she was running out from her concert.. and that will tide me through until I actually get to meet her. Like people above have said, this tour has plenty of opportunities to meet Celine.. just commit to it and rush after the show to where she is, make sure to be early along the line so she has more time with you, and then if that fails go on stalker high-gear and follow her to her hotel! But even if you don't get to this concert.. Don't give up~!! Celine's going to be around for her fans to go crazy about meeting her for a good while more!! And don't forget to enjoy your concerts. It's important to do that too and not stress out about meeting her! :) :D

Hahah and yes, I was on the big screen. :blushing1: Haha at least someone was able to catch my moment, because I think I was in lala land through the whole thing. I wasn't like, attacking her was I? LOL. To me, it felt like a nice moment, but through the excitment I hope I wasn't one of those fans that latched on and wouldn't let go. hahah how embarassing!

That is very good advice! I was so emotional that it was my last A New Day... show and I had never recieved the rose or met her. I indulged off and on during the show of all of the things that hadn't happened, instead of the things that I had been so blessed to have happened. I thought, being in the third row that my chances at A New Day... were over. But she came up and down the aisle at the end of the show and stopped for me and only me. Unexpected and amazing. Things do happen - you just have to be patient and keep hoping!

I have never waited at her hotel or anything, so I can't really help there. She doesn't seem to mind it for the most part, but I just never wanted to "bother" her. I don't think anyone who waits for her hotel is rude or anything, don't get me wrong - it's just my personal feelings. If she happened to have RC with her, I wouldn't want to feel like I'm intruding on her family time. But if you wanted to try this, many many people have met her that way! :)

Hahah, seriously. I had this fear of finally meeting Celine, but scaring the crap out of her because I was so excited.

LOL! :sofunny: I know what you mean. If ever I was able to give her a hug, I fear I might squeeze too tightly or use her to stay upright. That could be bad!

By the way Minnie, I'll be in Cleveland too - where are you sitting? :)

The whole, which side does she enter/exit thing have been discussed over and over and we're still not sure why she exits on the Southwest side for most cities, but then on occasion she'll exit on the Southeast side... :hmm:

You know what's weird too? Then only thing I remember about her face was thinking "HOLY CRAP HER EYELASHES ARE GINOURMOUS!" Ah, the things that will go through your head when you finally get this moment. It's crazy.

I forgot to mention, after, when it hit me outside. I was by myself at this show, and I had to hold on to a wall because I thought I was going to faint lol. I called my sister crying and she thought someone died or something because she couldn't understand me. THEN I started telling strangers about it. First my cab driver, who couldn't care less, he didn't even respond. Then the random people that shared the cab. After I told them it was my fourth show, they got a little scared I think haha. So a tip to anyone that meets her, don't tell any 'casual fans' about it. They don't get it! You'll just make them think you are more crazy. :P

I feel the same way...I've never met her, and being a fan for 16 years, is a long time to obsess over someone that you've never met. In fact, I had never even seen her live until Nov of last year, and that was my very first time...I was beginning to wonder if she was even real  I had to keep pinching myself during the AND show and tell myself "This isn't a dream, this isn't a dream, this isn't a dream"....It was crazy.

So I share the same frustrations as you...but I try to stay positive, and I have some hope for my upcoming shows, of meeting her.

Man.. I remember the first time I saw her live, I practically couldn't understand the concept of Celine standing in front of me. ^_^ It weirded me out so much that I had to watch the screens in AND in order to feel aH, theRE's the pixelated Celine Dion I know and love. ^_^

Yeah, and being in row CC of ORCH 4 on the isle...I thought I was going to have a heart attack when she rushed towards the front of the stage at the end of ANDHC...I'm surprised I didn't fall out of my seat. :giggle:

I was looking real hard to make sure it wasn't just an impersonator doing a REALLY good job.

I don't get this whole "I have to meet Celine" thing. I mean, she's just a person who sings. What will it do for you if you touch her hand? Get an autograph? Have her look you in the eyes? How is that different than other people on the street looking you in the eyes? Touching your hand on the subway? She's not God. I mean, I am a fan of Celine's. I like her. But I don't get this obsessiveness with her. Seriously - what does it mean for you? How will it affect your life? How will it be better from here on out because you saw her for 2 seconds???

Actually, personally, why I want to meet Celine isn't for myself. The reason why I'd love to meet her is really to let her know how much she is appreciated. Getting something signed would be wonderful, being held by her would be wonderful, but more so than anything I want her to hear me say You're Amazing.

Obviously, she knows, and my "Celine you're awesome!!" cry will pretty much mean as much to her as the next Celine you're awesome. But I'd love to be part of the chorus that can personally, from the bottom of my heart, tell her so. That for those 2 seconds, she can for 2 seconds know she's truly been doing something amazing for one someone.

lol well, there's my God's honest reasoning. :P

Most people DO NOT understand it...and honestly, I have NO ONE else that I obsess over, I don't even know most of the "new songs" from other artists, because all I do is listen to Celine 24/7...on occasion, I listen to other music...but not a lot.

Meeting her would benefit me in ways that I cannot even express in words. For one, I know it would inspire me, encourage me, and lift my spirits...she is an amazing person, she isn't just a singer...she is SO much more than that, and she deserves to be told so. If you are JUST a typical fan, then you wouldn't understand. And there isn't anything wrong with that...I live and work around people in my everyday life who don't understand my obsession. But in the end, it doesn't matter....it is what makes me happy, and as long as it makes me happy, then why not?

She's changed my life in a big way. I'm at rock bottom right now, and her shows have helped me through. I've always wanted to meet her just to say thank you, and I got to do that. Celine has impacted some people more than she could ever know, and some of us would like to have the chance to meet her, and tell her what she means to us, even when she's heard it a 1,000 times before. It means a lot to us. I guess I can't speak for everyone, but that was my reasoning for wanting to meet her.

I wouldn't consider myself a "casual fan". I've been a fan of hers since 1990. I didn't jump on the "My Heart Will Go On" bandwagon. The first time I heard her sing "Where Does My Heart Beat Now", I was hooked. I listen to pretty much only her music - no one else. I just don't get the obsession with her as some God like creature who will solve all your problems. Talking to her for 2 minutes will lift your spirits? Change your life? Do you have no friends? Family? I mean Celine Dion doesn't know that you exist. Nor does she really care. She sings music and gets paid for it. I mean, she's glad she has fans - it's how she's managed to help her family have cars and travel the world. But the people who would inspire you I hope would be people in your every day lives. She's just a singer. Maybe because I'm a singer and actor (and do quite well for myself) that I just don't get it. There's nothing special about Celine (as much as I love her). She just has a great voice.

Not to get all depressing, but I don't have any close freinds, and my family has fallen apart. Yeah, I wish I had someone that actually knew I existed that would make me happy, but I just don't. Her music has gotten me through, espcially her concerts more recently...because right now has been the worst time I have ever experienced in my life. And more importantly, the way she takes on life has inspired me to keep going. She's not God, I wouldn't put her on that level obviously (even when I'm not that religious of a person). I would say she's a role model to me. I can't explain why two seconds with her was such a special moment for me, but it was. I guess, since I've been a fan since I was 8, I'm now 22, she's kind of been like a friend I've never met. She's been there for me more than anyone else. It's not something I'm proud of, that I haven't been able to meet someone like that in my life, but I am greatful I had someone to get me through it all.

It's more than a voice for me. And I do have family and friends...and they do inspire me as well, but she has helped me through the darkest times in my life, with things that no one else knows about me, things I haven't shared with others. I have also been a fan for many years...way before MHWGO...for 16 years to be exact. Without us, she wouldn't be where she is today. It is her fans who have put her where she is. If everyone stopped talking to her and wanting to meet her and packing sold out shows, then she would wonder what was wrong. It's not like I HAVE to meet her to survive...it's just that it would be an amazing feeling for me. Her life has inspired me, and I honestly can say that a lot of who I am, is because of her influence on me, even as a young child. I care about people, I'm very sensitive...she had a lot to do with that. I also really appreciate that she is one of the very few artist left who can really sing about life, love and everything else with such emotion...and it be real. There are a lot of fakes out there.

So guess what Celbabs...we don't need you to understand nor do we care if you ever will. It is a spiritual connection that runs to the core of our souls. We are not harming anyone nor are we asking for your approval. We understand each other without explanation, and when fans like us get together it is like reuniting with old friends. And insult me or laugh at me all you want, but I do actually believe that Celine is an angel from Heaven and her voice God-given to guide some of us through life's obstacles. To have that elusive moment with Celine is a dream that I will hold in my heart forever; and no one will ever take that away from me.

Keep your dreams alive my sweet Celine friends. And let's hope more of us get to tell our wonderful Celine meeting stories on here. I want it sooo bad too and I'm not at all afraid to admit it!!

Wow, I never thought I'd be attempting to explain this, on this forum... :ermm:

I have to agree with what everyone else has said about this. It's not really about the validation, it's more for the fan than for her. Céline has such a strong connection with her fans, no one can deny that. She is so open and honest, and truly enjoys performing for us. It is NOT about the money for her. If that were true she would have stopped years ago, she has more than enough for RC's lifetime... :P

I know she is just a person who is a well-known, phenomenal singer. I get that. She isn't God - but God has given her this amazing talent which has connected her with people all over the world, which is she well aware of. When you meet Céline, when she locks eyes with you at a show, when she acknowledges you in some way - it's such a thrill for a fan because in that moment whatever it may be you realize that this woman whom you've looked up to since childhood is real, is just as genuine as you have always believed. You connect with her in that moment, and you (or at least I) have felt her gratitude for your support as a fan, and visa versa for her inspiration in your life. It's not being obsessive to want to thank the woman who has affected your life in whatever way. For me, her music has been a therapy. Whether it's to celebrate happiness or to help me through tough times, her music is there. That’s not to say I don’t have family and friends who are there - but her music is there along with them. Furthermore, Céline as a person has always been an inspiration. I'm not saying I don't have people in my life who inspire me as well - she is just one of them. A lot of her values, I like to think have been instilled in me because I've always admired her so much.

Meeting her and telling her just that - that she has inspired me and that because of her presence in my life she has helped to make me a better person - would be more for me than for her. I'm sure she would appreciate and be touched by it. But for me, when someone does something for you in which you feel gratitude, you want to thank them. I was raised to thank those who had done something for me. And I love Céline for who she has been in my life, and I simply want to thank her. I want to thank her for everything she as sacrificed since she was 12 years old to be able to be where she is now, because had she not - I may not be the same. And I've found over the past few years, she wants to thank us too. She appreciates that we support her, that we love her, and that we are inspired by her. Because we inspire her as well and she loves us too. It's a connection, a bond. And I suppose unless you feel it too, there is no simple way to explain it.

Aw, now this is getting all sappy hahah. I love hearing about how Celine has inspired everyone, and why they want to meet her. My family keeps calling me crazy for going to all of these shows, and its awesome to finally talk to people who get it! :) It IS like therapy. And seriously, I would not be who I am today without her to inspire me. She's way more than just a singer. She's got more passion than anyone I have ever known or seen, and passion, and love, and all that junk lol..is what life is all about. This day in age with so much hate and anger, it's hard to find anyone that is still like that. I tell everyone this, haha and its so true, if everyone listened to Celine Dion...the world would be a happier place. Haha. Who could be angry when listening to her? She even gets excited about picking damn tomatos. Lol. Seriously more people need her attitude!
