I keep hearing these rumors about Celine and Garou but I don't believe them. I'm only going to make the next statement because of statements I've read by others about RC looking like Garou (not that I see the resemblance). I could possibly consider the idea that Garou is RC's biological father through sperm donation simply because of Rene's cancer situation. It's my understanding that cancer patients are advised against trying to have children for at least five years or so because of the treatments (unless Rene "donated" before treatments began). Taking into consideration what Lou555 says and knowing how much Celine wanted a child, I wouldn't find that hard to believe. If they are the kind of friends Lou555 suggest, I don't see why he would not have considered doing this for them and Rene and Celine raise him together ( I hope this doesn't count as spreading rumors because that is not my intent here. Just mere speculation) This would just go to show that Rene would do anything for Celine to make her dream come true. She wanted to take a break and try for a child but because of his treatments they would need to wait longer than her break would allow. Maybe they approached Garou and he graciously agreed and the rest is history. I don't think there was any "hanky panky" going on there though I do think he is quite sexy and far from gay.I wouldn't be surprised if Celine did say she had thoughts about him that way. I think he looks at Celine with more than "soul sister" kind of thoughts but that would make RCs conception even more special because you know it happened out of desire (if my scenario were true).

I just compared to pictures of Garou, and RC, wow, they looks tons alike!

But i definitely dont think anything went on between them, and your story about how maybe Celine, and Rene approached Garou, and he agree, i do see that as nothing far from what could have really happened!

A little bit of history...about Garou, Céline and René.

Garou has a great international french carreer and he is very beloved in Québec and France mostly. Until recently René Angélil managed Garou's carreer(for about 9 years). They began their professionnal relationship when Garou participated to the 1999 Céline Millenium show in Montréal. Céline, René and Garou clicked big time. They are very good friends Garou, Céline and René. During her pregnancy Céline recorded "Sous le vent" it's true for Garou's cd "Seul". Garou loves Céline. He calls her his soul sister. Working with them for all those years, he had the opportunity to attend some party they gave. During Céline's recent show on the Plaines in Québec Garou said in an interview that he loves singing with Céline everytime he gets, that he calls her his soul sister, that he had the opportunity to sing and have fun with her once on their boat and that Céline can sing any style of music she wants. He said they sang everything soul, R & B...etc...they jammed all night long. It's obvious they have a special bond...but then he has a special bond with René also..there is a lot of love and admiration and friendship between them. He's a woman man big time!!! He's been married once with a supermodel and he had a child with her. Now he's with Lorie, a young french singer and he takes care of her music carreer also. He started his own music thing and very recently his first english cd came out. Hope it answers your interrogations.

I believe Rene is RC's father too. I'm just saying if someone wanted to argue why they think Garou was RC's father, that wouldn't be too far-fetched. I don't think. People do those kinds of things all the time (asking a friend to donate)

 

At any rate, I'm like someone said above: I'm glad they are a happy family and I wish them nothing but happiness. I hope it doesn't bother them too much that fans speculate/fantasize about what goes on behind closed doors even though it really is none of our business. We just have nothing better to do at the time or at least I don't (I need the distraction from grading horrible papers! )

The problem is that Angalil CAN"T be this kid's father - because RC has blue eyes.

I mean it's possible that two brown-eyed people produce a blue-eyed kid but only when they posses - I'm not sure about English-language terminology - the (recessive - so it doesn't show in them) gene of blue eyes. In practice that means that on their parents (kid's grandparents) had to have blue eyes. No problem with Celine - she's dark but her father had blue eyes. But, as I said it concerns BOTH parents. And Angelil is Arab - and very dark - so I doubt that he had blue-eyed ancestors.

But I don't know, never found any photos of his parents.

But I remember Celine saying - when RC was still a toddler and much fairier than he is now - that she always assumed that RC would ressemble his father but he's got those blue eyes and his hair is a little red (true - when he was a little kid, now his hair is much darker). And then she said, as an explaination, that her father had blue eyes. But nothing about rene's side - like, oh , and Rene's grandmother had blue eyes too.

So, in fact, it's not a question of belief. Check Rene's ancestry and you will know.

But what's really weird - concerning Garou and Celine - Rene couple - that they signed him promising him an international career. But then, somehow they did nothing. His english-language Cd was ready in 2002 - and somehow Sony was postponing its release for years - and finally it was released when garou was no longer with them.

Weird. Because it's clear what he expected from them - an international career (and never got it) but what they wanted from him?

I think that just means his ancestors had a recessive gene for blue eyes? Just because nobody was ever born in those generations, with blue eyes, doesn't mean it wasn't possible. It just didn't happen. It's not concrete evidence in any way that Rene is not RC's father. I'm not explaining this very well, I'm tired and it's been 3 years since I studied Biology, but I think I know what I mean LOL. Maybe someone can explain it better. Besides, if it could be proven, do you really think it wouldn't have been all over the tabloids? LOL.

 

Look, I don't know how many of you are joking, or just imagining, or whatever, but this is getting silly- if I were Celine I would find this extremely insulting- to suggest that the man she loves is not the Father of her Son. It's quite rude.

 

Edit: Also- just because they've never mentioned anyone on his side having blue eyes doesn't mean there wasn't anyone. Someone could have married into a different race somewhere along the line. And RC looks a lot like Rene's other son, his half brother.

what???Have you ever read biology??It's possible from two brown eyed people to born a blue-eyed kid.And the opposite.For the history my grandparents have blue eyes but my mother doesnt.

The same happens with hair.....And i try to understand why you try yo figure out if Rene Charles is from Rene for sure!haha!It's like you have clues....It's like we are speaking about a sex symbol who had many men in her life and we try to figure out from who is RC!Oh come on.........

Blue eyes are inherited by recessive genes, so if both parents are carriers, then two brown-eyed persons can have a blue-eyed child. What was considered to be not possible is that two blue-eyed persons have a brown-eyed child. However recent studies revealed that eye color inheritance is not this simple, there are many factors that in special situations can override these basic rules.

The main thing is that RC blue eyes are not a proof that he is not fathered by Rene.

As I remember it was mentioned in several interviews that René donated before beginning the treatments. They knew exactly the effects of the treatment and kept everything under control, because they knew they wanted to have a child who is biologically originated from them.

If it was true due to Rene's age/helath at the time don't you think Celine would have told the truth? I know you're probably thinking no way but think how truthful and kind she is. I'm sure she'd be overjoyed at Garou making Celine and Rene's dream come true, wouldn't you? I'm sure we'd all know by the time she came back in 2002 if this was true. I could have seriously seen her on Oprah in 2002 saying "Our good friend Garou very generously donated some of his sperm etc" if it WAS true...

 

Also I'm sure if Garou was RC's dad then he'd be with them A LOT more....

 

However I suppose they could have mixed some of Garou's with Rene's for good luck!

René is RC's father no doubt about it. He looks like René's other children very very much...

 

Garou is a friend but not a close friend like some think I intented to say. Sorry if it was taken the wrong way. Céline and René know a lot of people but they don't really have any real close friends in showbizz. I don't think they even see each other(with Garou) that much anymore, since he doesn't have René as a manager....and even before that, others in René's team took care of the day to day stuff I guess. Also his relationship was more with René than with Céline. With Céline it's about the music mostly. When RC was born they had known each other for not more than a year or so.... Anyway it doesn't make any sense to me to even think about that I can't believe fans who know Céline the way I thought they did could, even for one second, think René wasn't the father. I think it's just riduculous. RC is their reason to live.

 

And if you ask me....Céline seems to be living very good times these days. She seems at her happiest and has taken every recent opportunity(René wax stutue, her honoris cosa doctorate...) to say how much she loves René and more importantly how much he make her happy.

 

Of course they surely have their ups and down but I wouldn't worry about Céline's love life, she looks blooming and very much healthy.

I've been feeling bad about the fact that I even suggested I would find such a possibility. i love this topic. i laughed way too hard too many times. but to be honest as for it not being any of our business, technically it isn't but i think that celine would be flattered to know that her fans talk about the love connection between her and rene. she might be surprised at most of the things said about her rene heating things uo.. but if you think about it and how she always says she's an open book... if she was asked in the right manner you know that she would definitely respond with some little type of sexual gesture just to say that everythings perfect without having to actually say it. but i believe that they are completely in love and they do talk about each other i think there was an interview with sonia benezera in the '97-98 era where she asked both celine and rene what they liked about each other and you could tell they were just completely in love and loved everything about one another. They show their love out in public when they are together but their kiss is always a couple little pecks... never anything more... i guess they save that for their alone time... when rc isn't in bed with them lol

as for garou... we all know he just wants to pounce on her... and she knows it and i think she finds it quite funny... i personally would love to try her chair from seduces me AND and the platform from the tour during it's a man's man's man's world... those guys are hot i don't blame celine for eyeing them up and fanning herself after each perfomance idk maybe it isn't our business. & who knows if celine would mind if we were talking about it... but hey it gets you thinking
