I don't think that people care if her songs are ballad or uptempo. I believe that what they want is a good meaningful well produced song (eg- It's all coming back to me now or the D'Eux songs), those expected from a mature songbird and not some cheap bubble gum song written by poppish swedish songwriter à la One Heart.

 

Instead of becoming a 2000s Aretha Franklin she stops at the retarded Britney Spears stage - with the voice she has !!!!

Well I agree on the first part - however wouldn't call the entire D'eux album well produced.

 

And just for the record, no Swede made One Heart, that was all americano.

 

Don't forget some of her finest singles lately was made by Swedes: TTWIS,IDAN and HYEBIL. (And don't forget the two wonderful 'should had been singles' Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way and Fade Away).

 

Stop blame all the crap songs upon the Swedish camp please, they didn't bring us You And I, Rain Tax and One Heart.

Well none of them are fine singles to my taste. Sorry Not what I would expect from such a vocalist at least.

 

And what i meant by Swedish is the sound that came from Max Martin & co whatever the actual producers are Swedish or not. Sounds that has run through most of her albums since All the way hit TTWII. This sounds was fine in 1999. Not since 2000. And to my opinion Fade Away is a pale copycat of Kelly Clarkson song style.

 

I do believe that FIY and LTAL had success because they were classy album and were different from other pop singers (The colour of my love and Celine Dion being soft copy of Mariah Carey). Celine trying to sound like a teenager is not really promising I have to say.

Funny. This song got fine reviews during the release of TC. Critics said that Céline this kind of music the way it should be sung and that Kelly Clarkson should learn from her.

It is definitely a straight up rip off of Kelly from years ago. It's an old sound. And while Celine's vocals are stronger (of course), Kelly did it better.

I think what Nati meant, is that they probably change the title from "Let me be your soldier" to "There comes a time" to avoid any link with War (because of the word soldier).

I think she might be on the right path...I think that's probably the reason they changed it too.

I can't wait to hear it either. Besides that, I like this title better. What is "Let me be your soldier" supposed to mean? I believe it has a negative connotation, so I'm glad they changed it.

 

On the other hand, Westlife songs are cheesy, so I'm concerned about the lyrics.

I'm not worried people didn't like it, they heard it once, so oppinions change. Many people hated "My love" and now it's a fan favourite

Let Me Be Your Soldier is a better song title than There Comes a Time (just an opinion though). i do believe that it doesn't have a negative connotation in it. i guess it just means "i'll take care of you, i will fight for you, because i love you". There Comes a Time title kinda reminds me of Somewhere in the Dark from ET.

Yeah and they also said My Love didn't "go anywhere" and they didn't like it, if I recall properly, and it turned out to be one of the best songs in the album. Also that EOM had a beat like we'd never heard before and might have been produced by Timbaland. Excuse me if I take that fan's critic with a grain of salt.

It might be a good song but i hope its like "Naked" that was a young, fresh, love song with GREAT VOCALS ans shoulda been

a single would have shot up to number one especially if she would have collaberated with someone like Timbaland, Ne-yo or Justin Timberlake.
