Giving Celine stuff?

Security doesn't intervene if you try to approach the stage? And the venues let you walk in with flowers? I know some have rules that you aren't supposed to bring gifts for the artist.

 

Dionesque: You gotta go for it - I used to be shy too, but once I gathered the courage and thought "You'll regret it if you don't just go for it!" I've had so many priceless moments with her. If you see an opportunity, just go for it!

 

From what I've seen, even though there is a lot of security, you should be able to bring flowers, maybe other things in. I know one thing, almost all of the tickets for each venue say "No cameras or recording devices" but at the D.C. show I went to there were paper signs on the entrance doors that said "No professional cameras allowed" which basically meant you could bring your camera. I brought mine in and it was in my hand in plain sight and they did not even look at me. The were going through handbags, but you could still bring a camera. At the Canadian show I went to they did not even do that! They checked nothing!

 

So don't be afraid to bring some of these things.

Did anyone happen to have signs? My friends and I are thinking about making a poster size sign to roll up and bring in to hold up a couple of times...

 

Kim, I havemt seen any signs here in North America but they were plenty in Europe. I myself flew 2 signs to Paris and had them with me 2 nights. But they turned to be a hassle cause you cant really clap and hold the sign at the same time so I had to put it down at times and clap or hold it and not clap.

Lol this bottle cap thing is so curious to me. After Googling it superficially it turns out it iS to prevent people throwing them at artists.. maybe because they're right size/weight to be a good projectile.. lol no idea.

 

I doubt unless someone in the front row launched it hard it would barely even touch Celine lol plus, with how much she moves around, it'd be near impossible to hit her let alone inflict damage...and seriously, who would want to do that?

 

That bottle cap thing was so stupid. We sat front row in Montreal and I had put my bottle on the floor with no cap. Well, during my excitement for between RDMH and MHWG in the darkness and in the midst of my excitement, I accidentally kicked the bottle and it spilled. So Celine started MHWGO and security ran up to where we were seated and started picking up the cords off the floor (the one that led to a shoulder cam). What was the worst is that they called ina guy with a mop right in the middle of the song. So i got some nasty stares for spoiled view of Celine. Lol. But heck, why on earth they give bottles without a cap? The cap cant even fly that far anyway. And I am sure if someone wanted to throw anything at Celine it would be a bottle cap. Plus, it is not a rock concert and people that attend Celine;s shows are mostly well mannered and respectful.

 

Looks like you had a similar experience to me. I think I mentioned this before but I did the same thing that everyone did. I had my water without the cap but did not feel holding the thing through the show so I carefully put it under my seat. The floor was carpeted where I was. I had not drank that much so it was still almost full. Well, not surprisingly as I was often having to stand up to let people out my aisle it eventually spilled. But the thing that worried me was that I noticed that the people on both sides of me had bought programs and put them under their seats. Well it did not matter most of the show but when it ended I was worried that they would have a soggy program and then see my empty water bottle so I was ready to make a fast getaway! Luckily, at least with the guy sitting next to me, his program was not soggy.

 

I can understand the bottle cap thing but people have cell phones which could really do damage if someone threw one.

Washington D.C. took my cap, too. And I asked the lady why and she said that caps are hard to see if flicked at the artist... so maybe that is why...

 

Anyways for both shows, Philly and D.C. Celine picked up flowers from fans when she was out on the walkways. So that would be the best bet to get her something. And even in Philly she touched fans hands when she came out on the walkway.

This bottle cap thing seems to be quite common all around the world. During my 'tour' with Céline I experienced it a few times. I don't remember exactely where but I think in some German venues they were doing this and maybe in Bercy?... Don't remember exactely. And in some other venues like Amsterdam ArenA or Vienna Stadthalle, you got your drink just in a McDonald's-like paper cup, without the plastic closing! So I almost splitted my water in Vienna as well, fortunately the cup was almost empty by than...

 

I know it's for security reasons and I also understand that it's a general rule so they don't make it different for more 'peaceful' shows like Céline as of course they have no clue about how the fans of particular artist are. And actually there still could be a crazy person who would intend to throw a full water bottle on Céline... There are so many freaks out there, everywhere...

 

But still I think it's stupid. I haven't experienced this in Montréal because I haven't bought any drinks in the venue but reading about it now makes it even more stupid to me! Because there was totally no security check at the entrance so actually you could have tons of full water bottles in your rucksack and noone would notice that... How silly is that?!

There was probably a lawsuit or an incident at some point, where someone through a cap at an artist or another audience member and they got injured, now all of the venues have to cover themselves and be strict about it.

Back to the topic, thanks to whomever posted the video with someone handing Céline flowers, that was cute. It looks like they don't mind you moving around or approaching the stage? Not at all like Vegas. I wonder if it might be a good idea to tell the security guard beforehand that you're going to try to hand her something?

In melbourne australia, she got a few gifts. Someone in the front row on the right hand side tried to give her some roses during a song but one of her bodyguards stopped them and took the flowers. Somebody else then threw up a Koala teddy bear as celine began to talk. Then "Superstarleash" of here threw up a teddy frog when Celine was talking but when Celine tried to catch it, she actually missed and it fell on the floor but she caught it second time round. Then once she had the two teddies in her hand she was so sweet and said she had noticed someone trying to give her the bunch of roses and she said thankyou very much. She pretended to make the 2 teddies talk and then gave them to Mego to look after because she said he was close to 40 (her first show as a 40 year old lol) and so she trusted him to take care fo them and they sat on the piano for the rest of the evening. Then after MHWGO at the end of the concert she took them both with her.

Well i think it's because they actually tried to approach the stage and the bodygaurd was pretty much right in front of them, so they were a bit unlucky, but it was so sweet how Celine noticed and thanked them later.

Yeah the teddies were cute lol. If you watch the intro video to the tour, well in the bit were you see short clips from various concerts round the world there is a really quick clip of the Melbourne concert and you can see her holding the Koala.

I'm not going to hold them up for long...just a couple of times, then lay them down...

I didn't try to give Céline any stuff when I went to see her (I was thinking of writing her a letter but didn't do it) but I'll definitely do that when I see her on her next tour.

Ok question for those who have already seen her on the North American leg of the tour, people here have been trying to convince me that they won't let me bring my big Melbourne Loves Celine frog in due to security, has anybody brought in gifts for Celine besides flowers and has security been an issue?

 

I tell you I would be soooooo shattered to lug that large frog from here only for security to tell me "no"

I've seen that live! It was during the concert in Cologne in Germany.

That guy was soooo lucky!!! And he cried like a baby afterwards, he got so emotional when he got back to his seat....

DEFINITELY! She took her time and my autograph from after MHWGO when she was leaving the arena was perfect! And she looks right at you and acknowledges you, too...it's not, "OK, I'm signing and now I'm walking away...NEXT!"
